Rancho Mexican Restaurant
146 W Parkwood Ave, Friendswood, Texas 77546
MY REVIEW: Hands down the BEST authentic mexican food in the area. I have been eating there for 3 years now, and at least twice a month. Prices are great, and the service is the best I have recieved anywhere... ever! The food is always hot, fresh, and fast! You think the dinner service is fast, try it for lunch! They must have known what I was going to order, it was no more than 2 minutes after I ordered that it was served. I normally drink alot of my beverage with any meal, and most resturants I have to constantly flag down the waiter and ask for refills, not here, my drink never gets below halfway. I can't say enough great thinks about this place!!! Im not a review writer, but I had to praise this place for years of great food and superior service. THANK YOU!!!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I love this place. It's fast, inexpensive, good mexican food. We eat there with our neighbors at least once a month because it's so affordable. They make good drinks, the manager always visits our table, and the food is always fresh. The place gets filled up starting around 6:00pm but there's always a table available. I have no compliants and we will continue to visit this establishment regularly with friends.

MY REVIEW: I think everyone who has posted a review of Rancho (including myself a couple years ago) has mentioned how FAST this kitchen is. Today my "cold" plate consisting of guacamole & beef taco arrived within 2-3 minutes of ordering. That's a good thing, but problem is before I'd had time to take a couple bites, here comes the hot plate with the beef enchiladas. That's TOO FAST. That's just bad timing.
I asked for onions on top the enchiladas which they forgot and had to bring some out after the fact. And as I write this it just now dawns on me that there was NO rice and beans with my combination dinner. Have to double-check, but I'm thinking rice & beans were supposed to be included???
I mean the food is good reliable basic Tex Mex; but c'mon, give us time between the 1st & 2nd plates and slow down and get the order right for Pete's sake!
There were only 3 tables occupied (and there were 2 waiters) so there was no need to rush things along to the point where the order was wrong.

MY REVIEW: Can't say enough good about Rancho. This has been a family favorite of ours for years. Fast honest tex/mex. Some of the best cheese enchiladas in town. The owners are very gracious and always greet us personally even out in town. Huge supporters of the local community and high school. They do have and off day every now and then, but who doesn't? Highly recommend.

MY REVIEW: Great service, excellent food. Best cheese enchilades anywhere around the Houston bay area. They treat you like family in this restaurant, my whole family loves it, even my almost 2yr old daughter. Great for lunch or dinner and if you are in a crunch for time no worries they bring the food out within 5 minutes of you ordering.

MY REVIEW: Wife and I ordered mixed fajitas for two. Previous reviewers weren't kidding about how fast this kitchen puts food on the table. Beef fajitas were very good. But chicken was a tad bit overcooked/dry----can't figure how they had time to cook chicken fajitas too long??? Rice and beans were mediocre at best, but then it's getting harder and harder to get good rice and refried beans these days, so Rancho has alot of company here. El R*anchero in LaPorte has the best rice and beans----they will spoil you. But back to Rancho: green and red salsas are pretty good, thick, but not alot of fire (personally would like a bit more kick). Onions were not cooked long enough to carmelize, a little too raw for my taste. But it's no wonder because they just were not on the grill long enough for the sugars to break down, get limp and brown. Which is why I can't figure out how they managed to overcook the chicken??? I mean the food is atthe table before you can blink an eye. We went very early (4:30pm) for dinner and were the only customers there for the first few minutes---take a little more time and put the onions on first to cook longer, then follow up with the chicken. When juices run clear, chicken is done. There were no juices left to run. This was my 1st visit so maybe I need to give them another try. They do seem to have a loyal following.

MY REVIEW: I worked in restaurants for years, and I have never experienced a place with such a freakishly fast kitchen. I mean, it's typical to get dinner for two _5 minutes_ after you place your order. Not just fast, but fresh. Good charro beans, great table salsas... caldo pollo is even free. Favorite dish is the poblano grill. Desserts are better than average--recommend the churros, flan, and especially sopapillas.

MY REVIEW: Tony & his staff are excellent. The service is quick and friendly. The food is wonderful. They just catered a party for me at my house. Everyone loved the food. They make just about everything themselves. The guacamole is to die for. Tell them it's your birthday and Tony will bring out his guitar and sing "Happy Birthday". A good time is always had by all!! Definitely a thumbs up!!

MY REVIEW: Rancho is a great little restaurant. The people there are always very friendly and the service is attentive.
I have had their fajitas, enchiladas, tacos and a few other items. Everything is very good and the food arrives faster than any place we ever go. Portions are generous enough and in the case of the chicken enchiladas, they seem much more than generous
The chips taste fresh, but never greasy and the red sauce is just the right consistency and tastes fresh.
It is a pleasure to eat there. You really feel appreciated and welcome like a member of the family.

MY REVIEW: I will eat at this restaurant EVERY time I find myself in Friendswood from now on. My first visit was last Saturday and was amazing. The chicken chimichanga was LOADED with grilled chicken. I'm fortunate I don't live near there because it would take far too much willpower to keep away.
I think I'll name my next pet "Rancho."

MY REVIEW: We eat at this place so much that when I ran into the owner at HEB, he recognized me!
The food is good, fairly cheap and comes out fast...and I mean fast. It's almost like the cook has ESP and started fixing your plate when you walked in the door.
The staff is always friendly and the waiters keep your drinks filled and your chip basket full.
The restaurant recently added an ice cream machine (fix your own) which my kids love and I must admit I kinda like too!

MY REVIEW: My whole family loves this restaurant and in fact, everyone else we have brought here has loved it also! The service is excellent and the food has never been anything short of wonderful. They have great thin chips and delicious salsa. I have not had a dish yet that I didn't love. The only weak point that I can come up with is the size, which can fill up quickly at lunch time. The up side is that the service is very good and they can get you in and out quickly. I highly recommend this restaurant! You won't be disappointed.
