Antonia's Restaurant

MY REVIEW: Been here twice for lunch and loved it both times. Nice atmosphere, good service and excellent homemade Italian food. SO much better than the chain Italian restaurants. Can't wait to go back for dinner. Definitely the best restaurant in Katy!

MY REVIEW: What a wonderful, wonderful experience. This was my husband and I first time coming to this restaurant and we had a splendid time. Our server was very attentive and sweet. She came to the table with a huge smile on her face welcoming us with such great warmth. She introduced us to appetizers and wine that I would have never tried because I stick to the same old things when I visit restaurants. My husband was ecstatic at the special she chose for him to eat. He wasn't that hungry and he ate his entire plate. We will be going back soon and bring friends. Thanks Vanessa for helping us to experience a great evening. Hope to see you soon.

MY REVIEW: If you're looking for an inexpensive neighborhood Italian joint that serves cheap Americanized "red sauce" food, don't come here. This is upscale Northern Italian cuisine, quite possibly the best in the entire Houston metro area. I've been lucky enough to have eaten Italian food literally all over the world, including Italy, and surprisingly, the meals turned out by this small family-owned and operated strip-mall restaurant in Katy, Texas, rival some of the best I've ever had. In particular, the seafood specials are standouts. Chef/Owner Roberto selects the freshest fish available from the fishmonger each week, and prepares them with a deft and respectful hand. The Snapper Raphael served over capellini that I had a few weeks back was (to my taste, anyway) about as perfect as it could get. The Osso Bucco was so tender, meaty and flavorful, that it reminded me of the first time I had it, in a small restaurant in Rome. I always start with the Insalata "Caprese," which means, by the way, salad in the style of Capri. I've had it on Capri. True, Antonia's is a little expensive at $10, but I've had just that salad and the bread for many a fine lunch. And top off your meal with a glass of Chef Roberto's homemade limoncello.
For my money, restaurant food doesn't much better. Others have said they were disappointed in the typical American-style red-sauce Italian dishes like pasta with meat sauce. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea as to whether or not they are any good at Antonia's. I've never ordered them there. I love them of course, like everyone else, but I can get them anywhere, including my own kitchen.
Antonia's offers far more wonderous options than that.

MY REVIEW: Love, love, love this place! I have been going to Antonia's for over a year and have always recieved outstanding service, food & a great atmosphere. Every client, friend or family member that I have recommended come here, has absolutely loved it. Recently some girlfriends and I had a Christmas dinner here...when we arrived our tables were already set with a few different wines to choose from & there was even a small table set aside for us to place our gifts on. So it felt like the whole area was just for us.
AMAZING AS ALWAYS. Great job Roberto & Adam!

MY REVIEW: I was very disappointed whe we ate there. My wife and I are senior citizens. We usually split the dinner because we just don't eat that much. We ordered spaghetti with meat sauce instead of meat balls. The charged us $3 for an extra plate and $3 for meat sauce instead of meat balls. Considering the price of gas, we paid about $9 extra for eating there. We won't be going back.

MY REVIEW: Since Antonias has opened they have maintained there integrity and always have had the best tasting dishes, you can feel the love and speacial attention put into the preparation. Everytime I go they manage to make excellent suggestions, the servers are very knowledgable and the manager Adam stays in close relationship with each guest trying to help whereever he is needed. I ALWAYS recommend ANYONE AND EVERYONE to go whether it is a first date or family speacial occasion you will not be dissapointed.I had the lamb with rissoto, it was full of flavor and cooked perfectly! It is like no other and is the new "Hotspot". Congrats Antonias for your great success!

MY REVIEW: Antonia's is the best Italian restaurant in Katy, possibly the Houston area! It has an atmosphere where it is intimate without feeling stuffy. I have never had a complaint, and have always had wonderful food and made to feel like family every time I return. I have also taken MANY guests and friends there and they rave about it as well. I don't think you can judge a restaurant on one visit, so if you weren't pleased, please return and give it another try! Family owned restaurants this great are hard to find and I think we should always support them and give them support in an area where franchises and mediocre chains are taking over.

MY REVIEW: I was surprised when reading the reviews of how everyone loved this place. Unfortunately the only positive thing I have to say is that the bread was excellent. Everything else was average at best. The place was almost empty for a Friday night and now I know why. The wine was average to below average, the chicken was extremely dry for picatta and the gnocci was average at best. I guess when you spend $13 for pasta it should be great! Save your money and go to o*live garden/C*arrabbas - which is average too but about the same quality.

MY REVIEW: This resturant is awesome. I especially love my waitress. She was so sweet and attentive to our every need and it made me as a customer feel great. The food was excellent. What I like best was she picked both my husband and I food the entire night from the wine to the dessert. For our wine she chose a cabernet called JRE Cabernet from Napa Valley because she ran out of the cabernet we wanted and then she chose the appetizer shrimp brushetta. It was so good. The evening flowed from there. I hope the next time we visit, we get Vanessa again. Good job Vanessa. Keep smiling!

MY REVIEW: Good food. Upgrade the house salad - it's worth the $2.50. Lobster ravioli are some of the best I have ever had.
Weak points - way too noisy and bread is pretty bad.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I visited on the off chance and WOW, what a surprise. Clean and cozily decorated with nice white tablecloths. This is the best Italian restaurant in Houston and was as good as any meal we had in Italy itself. The service was extremely professional, while still remaining friendly, and the maitre'd and chef both visited tables throughout the restaurant and made us feel like family. Everyone was very personable and friendly.
I had the Osso Bucco - a rarity in Houston and chef Roberto gets his meat from Boston!. The gelati was to die for and the tiramisu better than my husband had ever tasted - even better than that made by his friends in Southern Italy. We will definitely be making this a regular haunt.

MY REVIEW: Antonia's is by far the best Italian Restaurant in the Houston Area. The Calamari starter is to die for. We will continue to go back and they are very kid friendly to boot.

MY REVIEW: My family and I enjoyed the visit - this was our second time vising Antonia's. The service was very professional, and we especially liked the live music provided on Fridays and Saturdays. To start, we ordered cocktails, stuffed mushrooms and broiled shrimps with toast - the quality was good. For main course, my wife ordered the rack of lamb with angel hair pasts and I tried the seafood pasta (Di Mare) in marinara sauce. The lamb turned out great but, unfortunately, my pasta was drowning in WAY too much sauce (in this regard, I have to agree with fred's comments). It never ceases to amaze me that people think sauce with pasta constitutes Italian. It's pasta with sauce, not the other way around. Otherwise, it would be Italian chili. After dinner, we ordered tiramisu, which was extraordinarily tasty. Prices of all items are most reasonable and, again, the service was first class. My only suggestion is if you order pasts, tell your waiter to go easy on the sauce.

MY REVIEW: We visted Antonia's for dinner Sunday night after having not been there for a few months. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the restaurant looked fantastic. It was great to see that they had added a full bar. This is truly a wonderful restaurant, and a Katy gem. They are sticking to what works, great food and great service! My compliments to Rafael and Roberto!
