MY REVIEW: A bit disappointed…after reading the reviews and calling the location, it turned out to be a fast food restaurant. We were looking for a new restraint to celebrate a family birthday. Atmosphere…what atmosphere….there was none. Ordering our meal was done from the front counter. The food was served on the smallest and cheapest paper products I’ve ever seen. I selected the Lamb Kabobs – very greasy and poor flavor. Sorry, I won’t be returning. Not even for fast food.

PRO: Speed of service Friendly staff

CON: Poor presentation Taste

MY REVIEW: Had seen this place driving around Katy and finally convinced my wife to give it a try. We were blown away! We are big fans of middle eastern food and this place delivers for a very reasonable price. The lamb gyro was absolutely delicious albeit different than the Greek gyros I have been accustomed to. The tzatziki sauce is replaced with a garlic sauce that is to die for. Conversed with the owner for about 15 minutes and learned that this type of gyro is similar to gyros served in Egypt and Jordan. The hummus was pretty good definitely the best I have found in Katy. One disappointment was the pita bread, I was hoping for a homemade fluffy type similar to N*iko N*iko's, but was given what seemed like store bought flat bread. My wife got the chicken kabob plate that was also delicious. I don't know how they cook chicken so perfectly! Been going to E*phesus for my Mediterranean fix in Katy, but this place is just as good and almost half price. I will be going back. In fact it is my lunch break... spicy lamb gyro here I come!

MY REVIEW: I use to eat here 2-3 x weekly. However in March the qaulity of food was terrible and twice my order was incomplete.

Today they left out a portion of my order and the lamb gyro was suppose to have sauce on the side, but it was on the sandwhich with a really soggy pita wrap. Unfortunately I will not go back for a while. The manager was kind when i called. But I will wait another two months.

FYI my oders were always correct during the day, but the after 5 shift needs some qaulity control.

MY REVIEW: Being a big fan of middle eastern food I probably have tried every Middle eastern eatery in Houston. When I came to this place first about a year ago I quickly became addicted. THE FOOD IS THE BEST! The manager is a young and friendly gentleman. They also have another location on Highway 6 and both rest. are consistent. I come here about 1-2 times every month and always give the food two thumbs up.

MY REVIEW: This place is amazing, I go at least 3 - 5 times a week. I first started going to the one in highway 6 a few years back, but they opened this location up near me so I started coming here. The service is always great, the staff is really friendly, and most importantly their food is fresh, addictive, and delicious. I always start off with the tasty hummus dip, and for the entrees I tend to mix it up between the Beef Filet Kabob, Chicken Breast kabob, and the Lamb Shank. Lets not forget about the tabooli. I usually get the Gyros when I'm on the go too. and I always have to end the meal with their saffron tea. If you ever want to experience persian food and want to save money, you should definitely come here.

MY REVIEW: This little place is special. The people are special and make you feel as if you are a long-awaited friend. Then there is the food. NOBODY, ANYWHERE on the planet can top their rice and hummus, and I've eaten around the globe.

The lamb is fantastic, and the freshness and authenticity of everything cooked is both exemplary and consistent. 5 STARS !!! If you go once - you will return.

MY REVIEW: I eat here about every two weeks for lunch and my kids are always asking me to pick it up and bring it home for dinner. Best Hummus in town and the spicy Lamb Gyro is fantastic- tasty lamb and a great white garlic sauce inside. My kids love the grilled chicken shish kabob and rice.

I also like to order the french fries and drown them in a spicy red sauce that they have available along with the white garlic sauce.

MY REVIEW: The food here is execellent. I try to go at least once a week. They have the best hummus and the rice is the best I have ever had. I almost always order the beef soltani (extra spicy) with and order of hummus and extra pita bread and there is never any left when I'm done. As well, I usually end up using the pita bread to get every last bit of the hummus. If you try this place you will be back.

MY REVIEW: Wow! We love this little place! The food was awesome, fresh, authentic and the service couldn't be beat. I loved my lamb meal and the rice was perfect. Our children loved the pita and hummous. The young man there was obviously a student and studying while waiting on his patrons! He was so calm and cheerful and the place just felt great to be in. The decor is cute and it is a family atmosphere. They had highchairs - which we needed. We will be back and I know that whenever I'm at Target next door I will have to stop at my new little Kabob place just to pickup some hummous & pita to go.

MY REVIEW: My first visit and I KNOW I will be back at least once a week. I am a lover of middle eastern food, namely persian style. I never saw this location before but wish that I would have found it when it opened.

I was thrilled to see the menu and ordered $22 worth of food for myself. It ended up being enough for 4-5 meals after I took leftovers home. I knew that if I tried all of my favorites that I could rule it in or out in one meal. It gets a 10+. The flavors in every dish were balanced. Spices were perfect. And like most local middle eastern places that I have tried...they do not smother all other flavors with lemon.

I ordered:
Eggplant dip - delicious and even better cold as leftovers imo
Vegetarian Lentil Soup - perfect, probably the best I have ever had.
Falafel plate - Perfectly cooked and flavored falafel, the hummous is some of the best I have ever had and the rice was perfect cooked.
KooKoo Sabzi - One of my favorite persian foods and they serve it!! I am used to eating it in soufle form but they serve it on a sandwich and it is equally great.

Such a great kind of place that I would only expect to find IN the city.

MY REVIEW: Delicious food that even the kids love! We always get a chicken breast kabob plate and the kids split it. They eat it all down. We are hooked on the humus! I've never tasted a better humus ever. The owner's wife gave us a sample one time and we were in love with it! (smart lady) Iced tea is always fresh. Baklava is a nice treat. Always sparkling clean and the service is fantastic. We go back often and are thrilled that they opened a place here in Katy.

MY REVIEW: I called at 845PM and was told that they closed at 930PM. I was extremely pleased to arrive there for a "to go" order which contained fresh rice, lamb and chicken. The humus was fantastic and the pita bread was great. Its a small deli style place located on the the south east corner of Fry and I10.

The food was great. The restuarant just recently opened and I hope that they dont change. I will definately return (even though I live in Copperfield).

MY REVIEW: The best middle eastern/persian food in town, at a price that cannot be beat. Food and service get the highest possible recommendation.

K*asra Grill is competitive with Shish Kabob for quality of food, but Shish Kabob really blows them away, offering the same (if not better) outstanding food at a far better price. Can we say $3.25 for the best hummus you will ever taste in your life?

This place is owned by the same family that creates the amazing food and friendliness at the Westheimer location. The new location has inherited all of what is best about the original (except maybe the décor).

The hummus is unbelievable. Great kabobs, kubideh, gyros, and shwarmas. Even the rice is fabulous. Baklava is a treat as always. Everything is very flavorful, in very unusual and exotic, and yet not intimidating ways. You’ll be hooked, even if you have never tasted this kind of food before.

This place cannot be beat, either for quality, or for value. Shish Kabob thrives off of word of mouth recommendations; you can go in and see why.
