MY REVIEW: We were the guest of a Very Special Lady, that invited our family and my son, who was visiting from Western Canada. Our dining experience with Georgio and his team reminded us of the Elegant Europian dining experiences that we have had in Canada. The resturant setting is elegant and sophisticated, however, very warm and friendly. The service was Surperb. We are always looking for GOOD tasting, authentic Italian food, and we All came away with the PLEASURE of experiencing an Excellent quality and Delicious tasting meal with a Warm, friendly atmosphere. The service was excellent and we plan to invite our friends and business associates to join us A.S.A.P., to introduce them to Il Restorante.Truly,if you are looking for an exceptional dining experience with a warm, friendly atmosphere , IL RESTORANTE is THE PLACE. You'll Love It!

MY REVIEW: We ordered the Eggplant Parmesan Breaded two layers of eggplant and mozzarella served with marinara sauce ...12.00
Risotto al Aragosta and Gamberi Arborio rice with lobster and shrimp 16.00
Ravioli al Tartuffe Fresh home made ravioli stuffed with white truffle s served with chef’s secret specialty sauce ...8.00

Let me tell you everything was excellent! The truffle stuffed ravioli was well balanced and full of truffle flavor. The truffle sauce is delicate and matches well with the ravioli. It was a little on the salty side but tender and great textures on the palate. The Eggplant Parmesan was definately a step above and the Spaghetti with sauce was al dente and a very rich sauce that tastes of being slowely simmered with a lot of depth to it.

You know any Italian restaurant can make all the basics (Spaghetti,Eggplant and Chicken Parmesan etc.)good but Chef/Owner Giorgio I can tell has a passion for creating great dishes and a love of food. It comes out in his dishes. The Risotto with lobster and shrimp was absolutely delicious! Creamy, Full of flavor and generous portions. I had two small lobster tails and several nice sized shrimp mixed in to all that goodness.I had one pice of lobster that had one part slightly undercooked by about 1 min.but better undercooked seafood than overcooked. The fresh crusty bread with the basil pesto with GOOD olive oil was almost a meal in itself, so tasty you just want to keep soaking it up.The salad was fresh, crisp and a delicate dressing, simple and light.

When he came out and saw that i was the one who ordered the Risotto he got this smile and said," Oh! you're the one who ordered the Risotto!" as proud of his dish as one could be and happy to see me enjoying his creation.! I think risotto's are one of his specialty. Last but not least the Tiramisu that he makes himself was the best. If you like Tiramisu you have to try chef Giorgio's and if you are not a big coffee fan you might still like it because it was not over powering with the espresso soaked ladyfingers. We will be back to try other dishes, next time i think I will try the Scaloppinia al Funghi di Bosco: Medallion of veal with a medley of wild mushrooms & fresh sautéed spinach ....19.00 sounds good and I can't wait!

Il Ritorno is a Gem of a find among a sea of generics. Georgio you have my Blessing of success. Your new friend, Kerry Stessel

MY REVIEW: We found this restaurant quite by accident. It is tucked away on the north side 1960 between Kuykendahl and I45. We were greeted cordially at the door and were promptly seated. We were presented with a menu within a minute of our arrival. Our beverage order was taken quickly and while we perused the menu, fresh, crusty, warm Italian bread was delivered to our table accompanied by an herb and garlic infused oil for dipping.

We started with Insalata di Cesare [Cesar Salad] - the greens and croutons were crisp and lightly coated with a traditional and delicious dressing. For our appetizer we selected Tomato Mozzarella Bruschetta which was unlike any other we have ever enjoyed anywhere else. It is extraordinary and is beyond my ability to describe. My husband and I both selected the same entree, Pollo Il Ritorno which is grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, asparagus and spinach. The flavor combination was exquisite. The only minor note was that the chicken was not quite as tender as I would have preferred but it did not detract at all from this amazing meal. The portion sizes are generous and in fact, we took half of each of our entrees home. We didn't have room for dessert!

The ambiance is lovely - we went on a Friday night and there was live music [piano]. The decor is modern and but not stark. Prices are very reasonable. Our entire meal consisting of salad, appetizer, two entrees and beverages was $46. They do not offer alcohol so remember to bring your favorite wine. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best, I would rate Il Ritorno a 5.

MY REVIEW: Right or wrong, we tend to judge an Italian restaurant on our initial visit by its spaghetti and meatballs and the complimentary bread with olive oil. Both (dishes) were outstanding. House salads had a delicious homemade slightly lemony flavor that is so much better than the vinegary vinaigrettes so often found. With a strong sweet tooth, we had 2 desserts that we shared. Chocolate suicide - fresh, moist, perfectly sweetened choc. cake with raspberry layers of icing. Would order again anytime. Tiramisu was just as fresh - good choice for tiramisu lovers. The chef was a delight and very helpful and hospitable; never obtrusive. We have been disappointed many times by good reviews on this site; these positive reviews are spot on though. We highly recommend. They are located at FM 1960 (between Ella & Kuykendahl) at Beaver Springs Dr, northwest corner. Go soon; they are new; very quiet and virtually undiscovered so far.

MY REVIEW: Wow! Where to start. Strong points, wonderful food, freshly prepared. BYOB of wine a real treat. Conversations can be had at your table without shouting, and other conversations can be had with parties at other tables. Very friendly atmosphere. NO weak points. Specialties...well, just about everything on the menu. Personal favorite is the Fettucini Alfredo. Melts in your mouth good!!!

Couldn't tell you about desserts; always eat too much to have any dessert.

Delightful, modern, artistic, warm, friendly, great wait staff. The chef, Giorgio (who also painted the mural in the restaurant) can provide you with any entree you wish even if it's not on the menu! Try this place if you haven't already. You'll be back time and again for great food at reasonable prices.

MY REVIEW: The food was great. We went during the week, we had to wait but it was well worth the wait. The veal was fabulous. The sauce was wonderful. Love the BYOB. Giorgio was very friendly and visited with the customers. This is the best Italian resturant I've been to yet. Hand made as you wait. This resturant is a place we will encourage everyone we know to visit. We took a handful of the business cards and have already started passing them around. Atmosphere was friendly and pleasant.

MY REVIEW: Il Ritorno is a very authentic northern Italian restaurant which will be a great addition to the North Houston area. The ambiance is casual but elegant, complete with white tablecloths and quiet music. The decor has much artistic thought. Best of all the food is freshly prepared, and delicious. We have had the pleasure of meeting Giorgio during the construction of his restaurant and were personally invited to dine at the opening. We will surely be bringing our northern Italian family and friends back with us. It is so nice to have a quiet place to enjoy the food and conversation. The waitstaff was very attentive, and most eager to please. Giorgio offers a wide selection of Italian dished on his menu. Be sure to try the Eggplant Parmigianno.

MY REVIEW: First visit. Decor a pleasant mix of old world and contemporary. Warm welcome from Giorgio. BYOB a plus! Antipasto of bruscetta was very colorful and tasty. Salmon over pasta very pleasing, perfectly cooked, bountiful serving. House salad comes with meal - lovely vinegrette and sprinkled herbs on top of well-washed lettuce (a rarity these days!)and salad vegetables. House bread thick and warm with dipping bowl of olive oil, garlic and parsley - I could have made a fine meal of just that! Too full for dessert, but I hear they are fabulous!

MY REVIEW: Georgio has outdone himself with the decor and doesn't disappoint with the food either. The mussels in his marinara sauce are outstanding as an appetizer, there is a refreshing goat cheese salad and the Osso Bucco, grilled lamb and filet minon are always perfectly prepared. Ask what he has special for the day and he can whip anything up you want too. I love the fact also that you can bring your own wine. All in all, a wonderful neighborhood place that I hope is around for a long while! We need more of these on 1960......

MY REVIEW: I love Il Ritorno! The food and atmosphere are great and Georgio definitely has a passion for what he does. Everything that I have had there is fantastic, but you can't go wrong with the spaghetti carbonara! I also love that you can bring in your own bottle of wine. We will definitely be returning to Il Ritorno many times.
