Guidry's Cruisin Cajun Crawfish

MY REVIEW: I have been seeing this place for a long time just never had tried it until tonight. I found a coupon for a free appetizer from a local mailed magazine which is also available online for printing. I printed the coupon and went o give it a try. Walked in and the place was very busy so I had high hopes. We sat down and while looking at the menu the waiter came over and saw my coupon and pointed to which items were included on the coupon so we started with the fried mushroom appetizer. Then we order a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo, fried catfish dinner, and 6 pounds of boiled crawfish. The fried mushrooms came out and the disappointments began, the mushrooms were not whole mushrooms they were thin slices with more breading than mushroom. Next the gumbo came out and was mediocre at best. Next came our crawfish which seemed a little light for the ponds we ordered, maybe they weighed the potatoes which cost extra as part of the per pound crawfish charge. The crawfish were pretty bland and needed extra seasoning at the table to make then spicy like I ordered. Finally my wife’s catfish came out ever though the salad that came with the dinner had not arrived yet. When asked where her salad was the waiter just said "I forgot to bring it out". The one positive note was the catfish was pretty tasty but did not come close to making up for the rest of the meal. Finally to top the meal off the owner refused to honor the coupon because it was printed from the website instead of being from the mailed magazine, not mention of this restriction on the coupon. Rather than argue we just paid the bill and learned our lesson to skip this place in the future.

MY REVIEW: This place used to be great,before it moved.....now it seems prosperity and crowds have taken the crawfish on the downside.....first order crawfish were just boiled no flavor....next order---we ordered spicier --they were just hotter,nothing but red pepper hotter...they are not soaked and they have started putting the damn spices over the top of the crawfish..great crowds,so drink alot of beer and you will never no the difference....we not goin back to dat place.... I know he from over dere to Lake Arthur,but dat do'nt matter

MY REVIEW: they have the best crawfish around, although it is true that the service can be a little slow, it is a down home place very laid back, crawfish has not been very good in too many places but it has never been bad at guidry's. Their fried pickles are the best too.

MY REVIEW: This is some SERIOUS crawfish!!!

I have eaten crawfish a LOT of places including all over Louisiana. This is GREAT crawfish. I got the spicy and it was probably the best crawfish I have ever had, and I have had LOTS!

If you want to get great crawfish,this is the place. There are other things on the menu, but I will probably never try them. Everytime I go, I'm getting the crawfish!

The owner even stopped by my table and we talked a little while. 'very nice down-to-earth guy. I like to find a restaurant that I can go to for a certain "fix". I have one for BBQ, fried chicken, and lots of other stuff, now I have found one for crawfish.

MY REVIEW: As always the crawfish are off the chart! Hot & spicy! Its been a rough season for crawfish. They are still the best around! I can't eat crawfish anywhere else. Guidry's has a lot of other great tasting cajun seafood! The cajun fries and the fried shrimp are one of my favorites. The new location seats a lot more people and plenty of parking! I recommend Guidry's for the crawfish, boiled snow crab, huge hamburgers & the best tasting seafood in town!

MY REVIEW: This place has gone completely downhill. I used to brag to my inner-city friends about how great this place was- not anymore. Originally this place was like an old icehouse. You could bring your own cooler of beer and eat some of the best crawfish this side of LA. They got their beer license and started selling beer- overpriced, but the crayfish were still terrific. They moved to their new location and I had one decent experience. It should be called McCrawfish now. The last two times have been horrible. My father-in-law wanted to go out to eat, so I thought I would give them a try again since they used to be so wonderful. Bad move. Poor service, overcooked crawfish and EXPENSIVE! I really did not intend on ever returning, but being the forgiving soul that I am, my wife and I went there on a date. An absolute disaster. They had two servers for the whole restaurant- AND IT WAS PACKED. It took forever to get drinks and even longer to get barely warm overcooked little crawfish. It took an act of God to get our check and pay. Never again Guidry- you should have stayed small- it was real back then.

MY REVIEW: I do have to say that Guidrys has the best crawfish I have ever eaten anywhere, hands down! I am cajun, so trust me when I say it! But be careful because it takes a while to get out to you. So if you order 4 pounds, order however many more pounds you want right when you get the first batch. Service was ok, not the best, but what do you expect?!?! There is one hostess there that really should not be wearing what she wears, does not look cute if you know what I mean! But other than that, we will definitely return for the crawfish!

MY REVIEW: Don't even bother going anywhere else. The crawfish is off the chart. They are always great size, spiced just right and reasonably priced. The other menu items are awesome as well and you can tell it is "home-made". It is worth a trip to Deer Park no matter where you live.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I went to Guidry’s this past weekend. You can expect a clean casual restaurant with good crawfish and good service. The pricing was average. Inside and covered outside seating (picnic tables in the bay area). They now have beer.

The bad, the Pistolette is small and you only get one for 4 dollars. Ice tea only in cans, so no refills. Water only in bottles, no tap. Overall a nice experience.

MY REVIEW: LOVE LOVE LOVE Guidrys. Chad is a good country boy and knows how to cook crawfish Louisiana style. My husband I just moved from Louisiana and will not eat crawfish any other place in Texas. We drive about 40 miles to eat at Guidry's!!!

MY REVIEW: Well we went again and they didn't let us down. That crawfish was soooo good. Since the first time we ate their, we haven't eaten crawfish anywhere else, no desire to either. Oooh the Pistolettes, MMM MMM good!!! They have made a life long customer out of us.
