MY REVIEW: Service impeccable and food outstanding.....stands up to any fine restaurant in Houston or many cities in the U.S. we have tried. Love the ceviches as appetizers, HUACHINANGO and KAMPACHI A LA PLANCHA are superb, as well as the ATUN ACHIOTE and Lobster special. CHILES Y CEBOLLAS are a great side and a "show" for your tableside~ We really enjoy Americas in The Woodlands.
The desserts that we've had are great...PICARONES are wonderful sweet potato beignets and their wine list is very nice. It's always good to have a South American wine with their foods, and the two bottles we've gotten our two visits were great. The bar is fun to go and sit in after dinner, or even outside on the patio! We will be back!

MY REVIEW: I just ate at this Americas and am glad to see that many of the prior issues have been resolved. The noise levels during the week are acceptable to good. The atmosphere is greatly improved with the addition of the outdoor pavilion sail-like tenting. It is absolutely gorgeous and will be very popular in the cooler months. The menu has grown rather significantly as well. They have added many old favorites from the origional Americas and A*rtista menus and have a good lunch menu now which includes complimentary soup (corn bisque) or salad (house). Much better value.

MY REVIEW: Excellent food. The service was awful and amateurish. Had to flag down people for drinks, refills, etc. After catching someone it was a 10 minute wait to get them back with the requested item. But they were right there (and pushy) about taking our order. Made me feel like they were trained to flip the tables as quickliy as possible, but were so disorganized they couldn't service the tables efficiently.
Very expensive: $190 for two people - two glasses of wine; two mixed drinks; two appetizers; one dessert; and two entrees. We had the Churrascos which was very good. Was a 12 oz. steak worth $46; 8 oz. $36 (from memory but close)? Well that answer is subjective but it was good.
Very noisy as others have said. They have drapes throughout the restaurant, and they would be well served by closing some of them to baffle the noise.
Would I come back? Maybe.

MY REVIEW: After a failed lunch try, restaurant closed for piping problems, we tried again for dinner June 19, 2008. Unknown to us, the restaurant also had two parties going at the same time. Their overwhelming noice level exceeding any normal conversation level in the remaining middle restaurant area. Several tables left for the warm and super sunny outside portion of the restaurant therefore.
Food was different! Ahi Tuna Brulee is spiced to perfection. Marineros, crab fingers, are superb, but...one has to leave the best of its flesh on the table. Americas does not serve with the dish the needed fine crab fork needed to linger on the best of the fingers. We had to ask for a spoon repeatedly (may be the server could not hear us because of the noice?) for a spoon to sample the lemon butter. Be aware, the "crispy corn" on the ceviche Kona Kampachi is not crispy cooked, but actually crisp in saturated nitrogen (we assume). This will provide an unknown effect to the diner. All in all, service is nothing exceptional, compared to other establishments in The Woodlands in same pricing class, stringly recommend that one checks before, if restaurant has parties simultaniously arranged with your dining timeing.

MY REVIEW: Excellent! My wife and I split two appetizers before dinner. 1. KONA KAMPACHI which is citrus seared kampachi with serrano chile and crispy corn. From now on, we will always order this as an appetizer. It was brilliant! 2. ANGEL WINGS that were light neo-traditional chicken wings with a light bleu cheese sauce. Very good with a fun presentation.
My wife had two appetizers for her meal. 1. TIRITAS - Potato crusted calamari with jalapeņo tartar and wasabi cocktail sauce. Very good. 2. CHUPE DE MARISCOS - a lobster bisque with Gulf shrimp, lobster, crab and smoked queso panela. This was okay and we considered this dish way overpriced as we have had many bisques that are far better for 1/3rd the price.
I had the CARNITAS - with cilantro risotto, black bean refritos, and guajillo sauce. The carnitas were excellent and the risotto was outstanding!
Besides a minor let down with the bisque, we had a major dissapointment with the Tres Leches. This dessert was a mockery of the Tres Leches we have had a hundred times at the Post Oak location. The recipe had been changed for The Woodlands location and this is a huge error on someone's part.
The bottom line is that the dinner and atmosphere were excellent and I recommend that you give this restaurant a try.

MY REVIEW: I completely agree with the last poster, the food was very good, very unique atmosphere, friendly waiters, etc.
They have some pretty unique things (Ceviches, deserts, etc) on the menu along with more traditional stuff (roast lamb/steak/etc). Everything our group ordered was very, very good.
Just one very minor glitch. When the food came out the original waiter who took the orders wasn't there, so there was a bit of confusion (but then again, there was 7 of us). But the service (especially considering it just opened) overall was great.
I think this is a great addition to the high end restaurants in The Woodlands area. Personally, I like it much better than the G*rotto, or A*merigos, P.F. C*hangs, b*rio, P*erry's, etc (which I patron quite often).
Just one more thing, it is kind of pricey for a full course dinner, but if you are like me, its worth it. I think lunch is a little cheaper.

MY REVIEW: food was excellent, martinis the best, great atmosphere, free dessert for my husband's 55 BD.
two mixups, first my son got a cherry coke for a Rum and coke.
second, our waiter never gave us our food that had been boxed to take home. He said he didn't want to leave it on the table to "give us more room". I paid the check and he wasn't paying attention and we didn't remember until we were on the freeway.
