Queen's Crazy Kitchen (CLOSED)

1013 E Main St League City TX

MY REVIEW: The food was good, the service was good, but as someone mentioned they didn't have a good selection of hot teas (I recommend Revolution tea.) The artwork on the walls was lovely and the upstairs shop is very neat! I bought some long sought after scarves there.

It is my understanding that the restaurant is getting some changes here very soon so I hope that it will only improve from there.

MY REVIEW: The first time I went I was impressed as all menu items were priced the same and included a full portion desert. (approx $12) My recent visit was disappointing. The menu had changed, portions skimppy and desert no longer included. I thought it was overpriced for the amount you were served. If I hadn't ordered desert, I would have left still feeling hungry. I probably will not return if improvements aren't made.

MY REVIEW: Quaint, old-fashioned tea house in a beautiful old wooden 2-story Victorian house. The tea room is downstairs and there is a gift shop upstairs.

Went here with 3 other adults and 1 whiny, sulking child. (No, it was NOT my idea to bring a small child to a tea house!) Staff was great at cheering up said cranky child, and the multi-colored goldfish they serve with the kid's meals helped too.

There were 3 lunch choices available on the day we went: a tea sandwich assortment, a soup and salad, and a soup and sandwich (I think - can't remember completely.) I remember being initially disappointed by the lack of variety, but the food itself was very tasty and the portions were large.

There were only 2 kinds of soup that day, neither of which I would normally order, so I settled for the tomato soup. I don't normally like tomato soup, but it was surprisingly flavorful.

The tea sandwiches were excellent! There was a pear and blue cheese, a dried-fruit and nutty cream cheese one, and a curried chicken salad one. YUM!!!

Afterwards, we found out our entrees came with dessert, which was a nice surprise! I got a large piece of strawberry cake.

My only complaint is that a place that calls itself a tea room should have a much better selection of tea than this does. I know I am in the South now where everyone drinks iced tea, but when I think "tea", I think "hot tea". When I asked for hot tea, they brought out a box of assorted Bigelow tea bags, and it was not even a particularly good selection of those. Very disappointing!

Still, I will go back here if someone suggests it. But I hope they read this and consider investing in some quality tea!
