MY REVIEW: I visited the restaurant during houston's restaurant week. I was expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised at what I had. I order a BBQ taco and my significant other had a nicely season fish. The wine list was not too bad, although the waiting staff did not have much experience in explain the wines they had. Overall I had a good experience.

MY REVIEW: Louder than I'd like, but the pizzas were cheap, crisp, and fresh. Wine was okay. Not really a date place. C*ova had better atmosphere.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant has great potential, but it seems a bit hit or miss. I have been three times, and have yet to get everything I ask for. Each time I go they have run out of something or at leat a couple of things are off the menu. I wouldn't mind if I had gone at midnight on a Saturday, but 8pm on a Friday evening??? The food that we did get was outstanding, and among the best I've had in Houston, it's just not what I picked first off the menu. The cheese platter was very nice, but they had run out of port... oh dear.
I will be back, but with some trepidation.

MY REVIEW: First time I came in I was waiting for my dinner reservations at M*ark's and was about an hour early, so decided to go in for a couple of appetizers and I'm not a wine drinker but my friend is. The restaurant was beautiful and the staff was very attentive. We had the pate which was good...
Then I made reservations and came back to dinner with a group of friends, they all loved the decor. I had the short-ribs which were great- just as good as my other favorites (D*a'Marco, G*lasswall, M*ockingbird)and my friend has the beef which was also greeeeeeeat!! Everything was really incredible and I am going back again tomorrow with another group of friends.

MY REVIEW: Friendly server, even if they don't have my wine, I'll go back. Great decor, good food, great variety of cheese and meat selection to compliement our wine. The food was so good that we stayed for dinner. Seriously, if they can make a plate of angel hair pasta taste heavenly, the tapas were party in my mouth. Definitely go back!

MY REVIEW: This is one of the coolest places in town. The restaurant is beautiful. We came thinking it was a wine bar only, but we ordered dinner and it was incredible. The short ribs are the best I've ever had. Awesome beet/goat cheese salad. The wine list shows a lot of thought went into it, many wines I've been wanting to try. The staff was very attentive. Love the ambiance, very sexy and hip but comfortable too. New favorite.

MY REVIEW: This is a wonderful place: good wine list not overly marked up, truly excellent food, and attentive but not smothering wait staff. I've been there three times, and in every case one of the owners was present and in charge. Highly recommended!

MY REVIEW: So Vino ... so awful. Wonderful atmosphere. Restaurant was busy on Friday night around 8pm. We were promptly seated and it went downhill from there. Our wine order was taken along with a duck pate appetizer, as we wanted to peruse the menu. The wine was served and enjoyed (good prices/nice selections). Manfred came over and introduced himself and thanked us for coming.
And we waited, and waited and out came our pate. Oops ... no tools. The server would be right back. We waited what must have been a good 10 minutes and the napkins and flatware arrived with a promise of bread to come. Another 5 minutes, wine glasses are close to empty, and the bread is served.
We observed another not too happy couple sitting near us complaining about the non existent service. We tryed to make eye contact with a staff person for help ... more vino!!! All staff were busy doing other things. Let me add the place was busy not packed. We observed the bartender casually leaning against the back of the bar facing us and he was texting/involved with is mobile device and swigging a coke. We decided to move on. As we exited, so did the other couple. Exchanging words as we waited for the valet. 4 down with no expectation of return. The restaurant has promise. Perhaps we just hit it on a bad night.

MY REVIEW: Im not much of a wine drinker but my friend wanted to go since we've heard such great things about it. It is such a cute place with amazing friendly service! Immediately, we were greeted by Manfred (one of the owners) and he sat us down at the bar and thanked us for coming in. Once we were seated, Elizabeth (the other owner) came by and said hello. Again, thanking us for coming in and making sure we were ok. These two were the nicest ever! This might not seem like a big deal to most people but for me it was a sign that they cared about their customers and take pride in their venue. We didnt eat dinner but munch on some fabulous cheese and appetizers. Even the bartender was super attentive. Overall, I will definitely be back - with tons of friends. You dont have to be a wine connoisseur to appreciate this place. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

MY REVIEW: This wine bar and bistro has it all; ambiance, fantastic food and wonderful, reasonably price wines! This was our first trip but we will definitely be back. The spare ribs are a MUST have and the guyere polenta is devine. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. Don't miss this Montrose gem!

MY REVIEW: As a wine nut this new place has a good selection of southern hemisphere wines and the food is excellent. This is at a reasonable price, so high marks and definitely recommended.

MY REVIEW: So Vino is a fantastic addition to the Montrose area. This is the up market, sophisticated wine bar and bistro we've been waiting for. Elizabeth and Manfred are the epitome of hospitality and Patrick (executive chef for So Vino) will quickly become you favorite friend in a restaurant kitchen! The wines and champagne list is extensive and very reasonably priced (i.e. far from the price gouging of other places). Although we haven’t eaten the whole menu just yet, the food we’ve tried so far was wonderful. My only advice to is go now - before the thronging crowds descend, as I’m sure this is going to be very popular, very soon!
