MY REVIEW: This place is very close to my house. I have been looking for a good chinese restaurant in the area for a very long time. I went during lunch time.

The staff is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice. The decor was suprisingly great. I say that b/c the bulding is very small, yet they make good use of the space.

But who cares about all that! Let's talk about the food. I was impressed. They start you off with the Asian Fritos (I don't know what they are called) lol. I got the Hot and Sour soup (THE BEST HOT AND SOUR SOUP I HAVE EVER HAD)

I ordered the General Tso's chicken. It was alright. Not the best I have had, but certainly very tasty. It came w/2 cheese puffs or a spring roll, and fried rice. Everything was hot, fresh and had a lot of flavor. The portions were very generous. I can eat a lot, and that meal filled me up! Price was comparable to most lunch menus (under $8.00) which is a deal for all that food.

I would recommend Hunan River Bistro to anyone. In fact, I'm going back tomorrow!

MY REVIEW: They have a fairly wide selection of menu items, obviously not limiting themselves to the Hunan style; even the lunch menu is fairly expansive. All the items I have tried have been quite good & flavorful, though obviously for the Americanized palette. The prices for lunch are reasonable for the portions, which should prove to be adequate for most eaters. The service is good & friendly without being invasive.

The place is quite small, but appears to do a brisk business. All my experiences have thus far been positive and recommended whenever Asian cuisine is discussed. Overall, I'd give it a B+ and would recommend it to all. My favorite lunch it the General Tso's chicken, with cheese puffs, and the Hot & Sour soup. I disagree with a below review, their Hot & Sour soup is the best I have found in the area. Lots of flavor.

MY REVIEW: This is a great Chinese restaurant. My family and I go here twice a month or so. The food is great, the service is good, the place is clean, and the prices are decent. I recommend this to all my friends. I've been going here for 5 years, and it is becoming quite popular. At prime time on Friday and Saturday, there may be a wait for a table, but usually no more than 15 minutes.

MY REVIEW: Good - cheese puffs, wonton soup, freshly prepared

Bad - food was greasy, lacked flavor

I was requested to pick up chinese for my daughter and remembered hearing good things about this place. Called in my order ahead and it was ready at the exact time I requested. I didn't think the food was that good at all. Hot and sour soup tasted tinny, thai chicken and shrimp was oily and lacked any flavor. Maybe they were having an off day.

MY REVIEW: What an excellent little restaurant! My husband and I just moved to the area and was looking for a great little chinese restaurant. I happened by this one just by going to the grocery store. The restaurant is small, but very well appointed. The staff is very friendly and very professional. The food Oh My Goodness!! EXCELLENT. Kung Pao Chicken was well cooked, very spicy and tender. The Hot and Sour Soup; never had any better than this place. Every thing we ordered was freshly cooked, temperature wise hot and scrumptious. They deliver as well and we will be ordering from them again. We have found our "favorite" chinese restaurant!
