Whata Pollo & More
500 N Main St, Baytown, Texas 77520
MY REVIEW: This restaurant is a good place. Its only take-out. They have a good variety.. they have chicken, baked potatoes, fajitas, quesadillas, tacos, and sausagE. The cook on the grill looks mad but he's cool. There's this one guy who's on his phone all the time but I don't know if he works there or not. The one that is preparing the food always smiles at every customer that walks in. The cashiers are always nice And help you out to figure the best choice for you. The ambience is good, and have good business hours.

MY REVIEW: I have been there before and ordered food for the guys at work. They are very inexpensive and give us so much food that we cannot eat it all.

MY REVIEW: hey!! like this place !!
Whatta pollo is an old converted filling station that specializes in take out grilled chicken dinners! They also sell fajitas, quesadillas, burritos and a few other Mexican favorites, but it's clear from the sign on the window that chicken is their thing.
when you walk in you will find a small waiting area with an old wooden counter top next to an oversize picture menu and a cooler filled with various soft drinks. Peering over the counter you see the motherlode!! : a grill completely covered up with sizzling whole chickens a la plancha! if you are there at the right time the aroma is intoxicating.
They offer whole , half, and two chicken dinners with enough tortillas, rice and beans to roll your own tacos to your hearts content. The chicken is wonderfully seasoned and cooked almost perfectly! I have gone back twice since my initial visit and continue to be quite pleased. At a price of roughly 13.50 for a whole (and they are much larger than the average fryer) chargrilled chicken with sauces, grilled onion & jalapenos, rice, beans, and mashed potatoes I can feed my wife and I for two days for what it would cost just one of us to have a good meal at most decent mexican restaurants in the area. this one is a keeper, I am just sorry I waited almost a year to try it.
