MY REVIEW: Went there before a 'Stros Game. Food was great, portions a little small. First beer we ordered was warm, but they followed up with an additional round of free beers after they were replaced. Definatley will go again.

MY REVIEW: We decided to try a new place for Valentines dinner and wanted to support the businesses in the downtown area. Found this one on the b4-u-eat website and let me just say how wonderful it was! We were greeted at the door by Cynthia Picazo and from there it just got better. She was kind enough to wait on our table herself and we felt very special the whole night. The dinner was excellent and the live jazz topped off an already great time. The chef also visited our table and we could not find a thing wrong with this place, except that we had not been here before. The ambiance was warm and inviting and this is definately one of our favorite places. Great food, great staff, great time! Thanks Cynthia

MY REVIEW: This is a wonderful restaurant. We had 11 people in our party before attending the Alley Theatre, and we wanted to sit together. We were able to make reservations online ahead of time. What a find! The staff were very welcoming! The service was prompt and attentive! The ambiance delightful! The food was absolutely fabulous! We will return again and again. It is convenient enough to downtown, and it's very near the ballpark.

MY REVIEW: Went to Picazo for a christmas party and the food, drinks, and the dj playing a little bit of everything made it a great night. I will return before and after Astro games.

MY REVIEW: I had my son's wedding reception here and I must tell you that I was very impressed. The food was amazing and the decor was beautiful. Kobra, the marketing director, had the tables decorated beautifully. They had a pasta bar were everyone could have their pasta made to order. It was a hit. The only thing it got very hot in the corner that they were cooking in. Perhaps it would have been better located in an area with better ventalitaion and they also could have kept an eye on the stations to make sure they did not run out of plates or appetizers. Other than that I was completely satisified. We had a fantastic time. I would recommend this restaurant to others.

MY REVIEW: We enjoyed lunch here before an Astros game. Found the restaurant quite by accident and had no idea what to expect. It was a Sunday and they were not busy at all. The restaurant decor and ambiance are lovely. They have an outside patio/street area as well. We tried the chicken quesadillas, the shrimp enchiladas with verde sauce and both were very fresh and good. Nice salsa that they make fresh every day. Attentive and personal service. Would like to see more than standard things on menu, but what they do they do well.

MY REVIEW: Tonight was my first visit, and this is actually the first time I've ever did a b4-u-eat post, however, I must say everything about this meal was great. I had a very unique order, and they were very accommodating, while remaining very affordable. I will definitely be returning, tonight was a simple togo order, we will return for a candlelight dinner very soon.

MY REVIEW: I went to Picazo's right before a Houston Astro's game, and it was wonderful! For it to be a game day, we were promptly seated with no wait. The food was great and had a little something for everyone (pizza/burgers to steak/fish). My father and boyfriend had some mexican fare (fajitas and seafood enchiladas), mom had the snapper and I had the veggie pasta. The portions were large and awesome! Everyone enjoyed their meal. I have to say that the veggies were my favorite part. They still had their color and it wasn't the usual over steamed broccoli and cauliflower but zucchini and squash, carrots, mushrooms, and asparagus. Yum!
With it being fairly new, I believe there was some table ownership confusion among the servers; however one of the hostess took it upon herself to be our waitress. She did a great job and the manager even came over to speak with us some. All in all, it was a good experience and I will def be back next time I'm downtown. Maybe I'll check out the patio area next time.

MY REVIEW: Checked out Picazo last night - what a fantastic addition to that part of town! I have been wanting a place just like this for dinner before games/concerts at MM Park, Toyota Center, & the warehouse district.
The service was awesome (from never empty water/diet coke, to a misunderstanding of our order and not charging us for it), the food was yummy, and the price was definitely right! The international menu features a selection of everything from Pizza (~$11) to Mexican (~$11) to Seafood to steaks ($25-$35). The space is tastefully decorated - hip, yet comfortable.
We were greeted at the door and given an introduction to the restaurant/menu as we were seated. Our waitress was prompt and very attentive. Even the chef came over and made sure we liked the food!
I had the Picazo Salad with chicken and a side of the sweet potato hashbrowns (which seem to be a house specialty). The salad ($6.99) was very good, and the grilled chicken (+$3) was tender and grilled to perfection. The sweet potato hashbrowns were not what I expected (and I LOVE sweet potatoes) - they were mixed with lots of bacon - not my thing. My bacon-loving friend thought they were good. She got the Prime Petit Filet ($25.99) with mac & cheese. She loved both of them.
And one last thing, which may seem strange - I loved their water (just regular water!). I don't know what it was, but it was delicious! I also liked how they asked if I wanted a lemon or a lime with my water... very nice touch.
I will be back here, and soon!
