MY REVIEW: This is the best place for cakes. I consistently order cakes from here and have never been disappointed. The price will suprise you as well...they sell at wholesale prices to the public. Our favorites are the Hawaiian Delight, Berry White, Chocolate Italian Cream (you will love this) and the best German Chocolate in the city. You may also want to try the Nestle Tollhouse Crunch cake, easily my 2nd fave after the German Chocolate. They deliver to many of the restaurants in the Galleria area and West side, so if you are in their normal delivery route for that day, they will deliver for FREE! Also, you can order the 1/4 sheet cake that has 2 layers and believe me, the layers are so big, you will be able to feed 2+ times more than the normal 1/4 sheet cake from the grocery store. It's really like a 1/2 sheet.

MY REVIEW: Take the Cake is amazing. Not only do they make cakes for other restaurants, their cakes are original and can be personalized in different ways for you and they taste great! I've ordered from them several times and have not been disappointed.

MY REVIEW: Yummo!

I ordered a 3 layer red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for a bday party last weekend. OMG it was absolutely delicious as well as pretty!

I have been a fan of their cupcakes for years. Big, yummy, and a good buy. When you go, pick up a few business cards because your friends will ask for the info.

Worth the drive! (Take cash or check)

MY REVIEW: I found this bakery on the web when I was planing a big birthday bash for my mother. I ordered a carrot cake and the chocolate ganache cake. They were both fabulous. The carrot cake was the BEST I have every eaten. It was super moist and did not have coconut in it (a pet peeve of mine). The chocolate cake was super rich dark chocolate. A little goes a long way. I would call the cake Death by Chocolate.

I highly reccommend this bakery to anyone wanting a great cake.

MY REVIEW: I plan on visiting this bakery in a couple of weeks to order my husband's birthday cake. My cousin had her wedding cake made here and it was probably one of the best wedding cakes we've ever had! It was a chocolate cake with fudge. Very good! I can't wait to visit their bakery.

MY REVIEW: I was surprised with a carrot cake for my birthday this year. Hands down, the best carrot cake I've ever had. Very moist and the cream cheese frosting had just the right amount of sweetness. I'll definitly be back.

MY REVIEW: This is the absolute best bakery for any occasion cake. Had the cake made for a couples bridal shower this weekend, and EVERYONE raved about how delicious it was. The cake was so moist and stay that way for days after as well as the icing. I ordered the white cake with buttercream icing and raspberry filling, HIGHLY reccom. that combination. I will definetely be back for more cakes...

MY REVIEW: They make the best cakes ever! Moist, thick and rich layers. I get birthday cakes for the family here. My son got married in March and we ordered the Chocolate Truffle(groom) and Italian Cream(bride)cakes for the rehearsal dinner. Everyone raved about them. Our favorites are the Carrot,Chocolate Truffle,Hummingbird and Italian Cream cakes. You can call ahead and order or they do have some cakes available for walk-ins. Be sure and check the hours, they close early.

MY REVIEW: I ordered a birthday cake for my boyfriend and it turned out great. The store is in a nondescript shopping strip that just says "Cakes" above the door, but once you go in the magnificent smells of homemade baking overwhelm you. The owner was very friendly; apparently she and her husband both went to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and then studied and apprenticed in Europe.

The cake itself was beautifully decorated and tasty. It was a chocolate italian creme cake. Our only criticism was that the ribbon the writing was on was not edible, but this was a minor quibble at best. The 6" cake was quite tall, and could easily feed 8 people for only $15.

Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW: If you are looking for a consistently delicious cake, this is the place. I first used Take the Cake for my daughter's wedding. It was the last place we checked on and it has turned out to be where we and several other family friends now go for all our special occasion cakes. A friend that recently went there said they no longer do wedding cakes, but I haven't verified that fact. They provide delicious cakes and specialty desserts for numerous restaurants on the West side. The cakes are very dense, moist and their layers are larger than most. You could easily order a smaller size cake than from a grocery store and have plenty to go around and probably left-overs. The chocolate truffle is my all time favorite. Give them a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.
