MY REVIEW: I was anxious to try wet-aged steaks which is what they do at Bob's. The other upscale steakhouses that I frequest (who shall remain nameless) use the dry-aging process. I read up on it and the jury's out on which is better so I thought I would form my own opinion.
Being my birthday, I splurged with the "tastiest" steak on the menu, according to our waiter Dan -- the 22 oz bone-in ribeye. I started with a warm spinach salad and my companion had a caesar, which were both good but average, nothing to write home about. My ribeye came out perfectly cooked (medium rare) and was delicious. My companion ordered a NY strip, which was generally good but lacked seasoning and tastiness. Finally, we had the brownie sundae for dessert -- very nice and very rich. I should also mention that the service was impeccable.
Overall, a good experience but given a choice -- I'll go with the dry-aged kind next time, but you try it out for yourself!

MY REVIEW: Strong Points: Awesome steaks, good waiter. We had the filet mignon and ribeye. Both were very good. The steaks come with potatoes we had the smashed potatoes which are nice. Dessert was huge, we had the sundae.
Bad Points: Had to pay for parking in a strip center. I would have thought it would be complimentary at a nice restaurant like this. When I picked up the car, the valet said it would be $5, but no sign said this. Embarrassed by my original $2 tip I gave the valet $7. I called today and they said it is complimentary valet! The valet parking attendant is a crook so be careful!
The busboy took my wife's steak and potatoes (a lot of potatoes) and put it in a box w/ just the steak but no potatoes. Not a big deal but a little annoying.
Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant outside of these little annoyances. It was about 60% full on a Friday night but it is new.

MY REVIEW: The food was wonderful! The wait staff was very informative and knowledgable. We all had filets and ordered the crab cake appetizers. The key lime pie was also very good. The air conditioner works well, bring a jacket! The only drawback was the noise. Our party of four had a hard time hearing each other. We would go back.

MY REVIEW: This was our first trip to Bob's. Being from Dallas, we were familiar with their restaurants there and in Plano although we had never eaten in one before.
Nice clubby atmosphere. The waiter was extremely helpful and gave us the right amount of attention with excellent suggestions.
We both ate the prime filet. Having eaten in the best steak houses in the world, including Buenos Aires, we have high expectations for our meat and we were not disappointed. The filets we received were the leanest and among the tastiest I have ever had.
One suggestion: I tend to like my meat a little better done and have traditionally ordered my meat medium plus or medium well. DO NOT do that with these filets. Order them medium or medium rare.
For a steak house, I thougt Bob's was a little on the pricey side, but when they give you a perfect hunk of meat grilled to perfection, I guess it must be worth it.
Nice atmosphere and perfect food. We'll go back again soon.

MY REVIEW: This was my first-time there. And I have to say that I will go back.
The food was phenomenal. We were a party of 4 and each had a different cut of meat, and all were very tender and flavorful.
My only recommendation is to get the “Smashed Potatoes” as a side; the others were good but not as good as the aforementioned.
Service was outstanding.
Ambiance was great; you could hold any type of conversation without a problem.
We had not reservations and had not problem getting sited; however I think I will make one next time I go. I can see this place getting packed.

MY REVIEW: We went on a Tuesday night with a group of four. Arriving at 7:30 pm the place was almost empty. They did a great job of remodeling the place from the former T*ony's. I had the shrimp cocktail , which had four huge shrimp, they were very good. Two of our party had the blue cheese salad, which they also enjoyed. One person had the corn chowder soup with crab meat, which I did test and was very good.
Then I had the bone in ribeye and so did one other person. I thought the steak was excellent. Cooked just the way I order it and very tasty !! The potatoes and carrots which come with the steak were also very good. The carrots had some type of sugar glaze on them, as there were sweet tasting. The other two people had filet mignon and lobster. The filets was very good. However the lobster was tough. The next day I spoke with another person who went there two weeks earlier and they also said the lobster was tough. No desert, but I had a cappuccino, which was good.
The service was ok, but I thought it was on the slow side. I was a long time between visits to check on us. Also, it took a long time for each one of our courses to come out of the kitchen. Remember this was Tuesday night and the place was not crowded.
All in all a good experience. I will go back for the awesome tasting steak !!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I are familiar with Bob's because he was born and raised in Dallas. We go every time we visit his parents. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was excellent. We actually chose to go there for our anniversary and were really anxious to give it a try for such a special occasion. My husband stated that his tenderloin was okay but the Bob's in Dallas makes a better one. They may need some time to season their grill. I had shrimp scampi which was okay, nothing to write home about.

MY REVIEW: We had a reservation for 7pm and they sat us promptly. I ordered the salmon and it was delicious. My son ordered the steak and it was made to perfection. The portions are huge so you can share if you want to. The entree comes with your choice of potatoes and the glazed carrot.
Everything including the service was perfect. There were seven in our party and everyone was happy.
Get the chocolate dessert.

MY REVIEW: This place is great. It is about time we got a real steakhouse in this part of town and Bob's filled the void with flying colors. I have been a few times and my steak has been PERFECT everytime. Also the brownie sundae dessert thing is way over the top and incredible but be warned it will serve about 4 people. Also in opposition to the other reviewer the coffee has been excellent. I drink regular and it is fantastic and my wife always has decaf cappuccino and she says its wonderful also. sooo if you are looking for a fine uptown steakhouse this is it and their attention to detail is beautiful

MY REVIEW: Great ambiance, dark wood, intimate lighting, impecable service. Ribeye is to die for, but the rowdy, too close to the restaurant, packed bar is to murder for and I felt like doing it. Please take note would be diners, an excellent meal was ruined by weak, insipid coffee.

MY REVIEW: The greatness of Bob's Steak & Chop House has made it's way down south to H-town. I have eaten at Bob's numerous times in Dallas and was very excited to hear about their opening last week (in the former T*ony's location). I put Bob's up there w/ all the big boys! I just hope they catch on down here. Sometimes Dallas spots don't work in Houston for whatever reason.
The restaurant looks great inside. Lots of dark/heavy wood. Dark, clubby atmosphere. Nice bar greets you as soon as you walk in. I made a reservation the day before and the restaurant gave me a call back to confirm. Nice. We were sat in a very comfortable booth. For a Friday night, they weren't full. But a full bar, and a 1/2 full restaurant (first week opening) it will catch on! You can't get in the one in Dallas.
Food was outstanding as always. I ordered the Prime 22oz "Cote de Boeuf" Bone-Ribeye Steak. It's their staple. Big, thick, prime bone-in ribeye that melts in your mouth! Nice and charred on the outside and cooked to a perfect medium rare on the inside (red and warm at the center). I order this steak every time! All of their steaks come w/ a choice of potato (skillet fried topped w/ onions and gravy are my favorite) and a huge glazed carrot that divides the plate is a sweet compliment to the meat and potatoes. Wife had the filet special. 8 oz. filet topped w/ oscar topping (bearnaise sauce and lump crab meat) and 3 jumbo grilled shrimp. Outstanding! We started off w/ the shrimp platter app (2 jumbo fried, 2 w/remoulade, 2 w/ cocktail sauce). Great remoulade sauce! Finished off the night w/ a peanut butter brownie sundae. We couldn't finish it. It's a 4-person brownie!! Washed all this down w/ a bottle of 2002 Jordan Cabernet. Doesn't get any better than that.
Y'all give Bob's a shot, you'll love it!
