MY REVIEW: Took my wife out for Pre-Valentine's Day dinner, this restaurant impressed in all kinds of way (from the presentation, taste & service). We had Crab Cake & Escargot for the appetizer, strawberry salad, and for the entrees wife had Fillet & I had soft-shell crab special. Normally I'm not a big fan of Italian food but this place had me changed my mind.

STRONG POINT : food & service (Michael was an excellent server)

WEAK POINT : none

MY REVIEW: This is my idea of what a fine restaurant should be. My wife and I have been there twice and the both times the food and service were excellent. Now it’s a bit spendy for our budget – with wine our two visits cost us $120 and $160 respectively - but for the special occasion it was a truly great dinning experience

MY REVIEW: My husband decided to try the place out for my 30th birthday, and we were pleasantly surprised by the whole experiance. From Nasa Rd you can't tell what the inside is like, let alone the service and menu would be awesome. The prices are little higher than the majority of the resturants in Seabrook, but every penny is worth it.

The food was spectacular! I ordered the 8oz filet, and it was like butter in my mouth. The sauce with gorgonzola cheese was a nice flavor that was enhanced by the portobella mushrooms. The vegetables were fresh and crisp even though they had been cooked. The tomato salad was also a nice change of pace, but very tasty. I really wanted to try their strawberry salad, but I will save that for next time. My husband had the flounder and he mentioned that it was very fresh and cooked well. The meat was nice and flaky, yet still moist and tender.

Our server was Jon and he was very professional and attentive. I have worked at fine dining resturants before and this one was very impressive, even down to the person clearing your table and topping off your glass of water. I got the feeling that we were being watched continually to see if there was anything that could be improved, but I never once felt intruded on.

Needless to say the experiance was great. I have only been to one other resturant that was of the same caliber (located in San Antonio), so I am very happy that we found this one much closer to us. I will definitely be passing this recommendation on to everyone I know.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I just moved here from California and while we haven't driven in to the heart of Houston yet for great dining we may not have to after finding this gem. The wifes owner greeted us at the door and although they were very busy on a Saturday night she was able to seat us within in ten minutes. We started off with their signature crab cakes which were pan fried and had huge pieces of fresh flaky crab in them with a wonderful lemon creme sauce. I get the crab cakes when ever I see them on a restaraunt menu and there is only one other place that I would rate on the same level. I had the chilean sea bass and my husband had the green apple and brie salad with candied walnuts and a light raspberry vinagerette. He also had the soup of the day which was a wonderful Shrimp and cilantro in a nice sauce it was delicous. We were able to save room for the chocolate suicide cake which I am usually overwhelmed with on other menus but this was delicious, a lighter cake with just the right amount of chocolate frosting and raspberry layers to make it perfect. We will go back again and again it was superb.

MY REVIEW: Well, I finally ate at a retaurant with "bistro" in the name. Signature Bisto is awesome. From the road this old converted frame house is not very inviting. But the interior is very nice. You enter from the rear where it becomes obvious that this is a nice restaurant. Upscale, classy place. Waitstaff wears white shirts with ties and black vests, and call you by name when they bring your credit card back. Mary, our server, was great. We went on a Thursday nite, so there was not the big crowds they experience Friday and Saturday when reservations are recommended. We were able to sit far enough away from the bar that smoke was not an issue even though the bar area was doing a brisk business.

My bone-in pork chop was stuffed with brie cheese, sauteed spinach, artichoke hearts and topped with portabella mushrooms in a port wine-fused demi glaze. Exceptional! Wife ordered bone-in lamb chops off the menu. At $35 probably one of the pricer dishes, But she declared them the best she ever had. We split a $7 piece of Italian cream cake which was plated beautifully. Not an inexpensive meal, but the food and atmosphere personify attention to detail.

MY REVIEW: What a spectacular addition to the culinary scene of the Clear Lake area! This is a cozy place in Seabrook that gets very romantic when they turn the lights down. Our dinner was so good I was disappointed that I didn't have room for dessert. The waiter was extremely efficient and polite and made us feel like we were in the poshest of places.

While the dinner bread was good the herbs in the olive oil that it was served with was amazing. My wife and I split the strawberry cheese salad with a honey mustard dressing that was delicious. Then I had sea bass and she had the snapper in parchment paper. Both were prepared perfectly and had great flavor. Their decaf espresso (an amazingly tough thing to find done well) was very good.

We can't wait to go back. The only con is having to pass through the smoke filled bar to get to the dinning area.

MY REVIEW: This is our favorite restaurant for a casual but elegant evening out. On our most recent visit 4 different entrees were ordered - each person claimed theirs to be the best they have eaten anywhere -- Chilean sea bass, filet mignon, lamb shank, chicken ala Bistro. Don't make up your mind until you hear the off-the-menu specials. The lamb shank and osso buco (both off the menu) are falling-off-the-bone tender and perfectly seasoned. Prices range from moderate - chicken dishes around $16 are terrific - to expensive - filet mignon and sea bass at $35. Matt, the owner, explains, "I buy the best quality of everything to start with."

The little old house has been turned into a pleasant and warm venue, sometimes getting loud when full - weekend nights a reservation is needed. One warning - try not to sit near the bar as smoke sometimes drifts into nearby eating areas.

Lunch is equally good - several terrific salads and the best chicken entree I have ever eaten - herb encrusted chicken breast (it is not on the dinner menu.) The crab cake appetizer is outstanding. Another warning -- if the description says "spicy", believe it.

The house wines (generally $6/ glass) are quite good. The fine wine selection is being upgraded all the time. Haven't ever tried the desserts since the entree plus a salad is a very generous meal. Typical of CLear Lake the dress is casual - but the service is professional.

MY REVIEW: The siganture bistro is a wonderful experience for anyone who loves good food. The service is impeccible and the atmosphere is elegantly casual. I have been here 6 times now and never been dissapointed with anything. I reccomend any dish as I have had most. The salmon is wonderful and cooked to perfection and just melts in the mouth. The escargot is a wonderful garlicky concotion with basil and other herbs with butter. This is a must try for anyone who loves food made perfectly everytime. Will keep on going back for more trys on all entrees i havent had yet. Also very romantic at night with candlight.

MY REVIEW: I tried the Signature Bistro for lunch today and it was excellent. My dish was a grilled chicken breast topped with a tarragon-flavored Chardonnay sauce loaded with shitake mushrooms & artichoke hearts. The entree was accompanied by perfectly seasoned roasted potatoes, roasted asparagus and sauteed carrots. Fresh bread and a herb-enfused olive oil were also served with the meal.

The lunch entree was $12 and $2 for a drink. The portions were very large for lunch - much more that I usually eat- but it was so delicious I finished everything. I was too full to even look at the desert menu.

The service was good. The owner of the restaurant accompanied the waitress-trainee instructing her in her duties - fine attention to details.

The dinner menu had a wide variety of choices. The wine list looked good and they have a well-stocked bar.

Overall a very pleasant experience. I will be back for dinner.

MY REVIEW: I've been curious to try this place since it opened, and I finally went on Monday for lunch with out-of-town guests (i.e., my parents). We wanted something light (like salads) and the restaurant did not disappoint.

The decor is beautiful and elegant. The waitstaff is friendly and professional.

The lunch menu was small but satisfying. There were 6 different salads to choose from, from a plain old house salad to ones with unusual combinations (like strawberry & chicken, or ham and pineapple). There was also pasta, chicken breast, appetizers, soup of the day, and dessert.

Although we weren't in the mood for wine, they appear to have a full bar and an excellent wine selection.

I got the appetizer-size brie and apple salad, which was served with caramelized walnuts and raspberry vinaigrette. It was absolutely delicious! The appetizer-sized portion was plenty big enough.

My parents ordered the ham and pineapple salad (which was served in a pineapple shell and was very tasty) and a house salad in vinaigrette. Everything was very good and we were quite satisfied with our experience.

I definitely want to go back for dinner sometime when I have more of an appetite.
