MY REVIEW: Was in the mood for little plates and great flavor last night and was not disappointed. Loved every single bite and almost got into a fork fight with my date over the last bits of the garlic saute the piri piri shrimp came with. Service was excellent and the wine choices were very affordable.

MY REVIEW: I had a great time at this little wine and food bar. The service was nice and but casual. The food specials were great, a very good pork vindaloo of all things. A Portuguese-Goan dish. We also had the Moroccan lamb over cous cous. The regular menu is rather limited but very good as well. The specials are usually on weekends server said, but at least 1 or 2 on weekdays. These guys will need a bigger place soon since it only seats about 25. Love the concept and decor...check it out

MY REVIEW: My boyfriend and I just wanted to grab some grub before all the New Year's bashes. Luckily, they were still serving their regular tapas before 7PM. We ordered the seafood salad (fresh, huge scallops and nice shrimp, a little bland), the red peppers with crawfish stuff (tasty), chorizo and potatos (absolutely amazing and very tasty), empanadas (crispy outside and beef stuffing and with a side of marmalade), and seafood crepes (a little on the creamy side). The coffee and decaf cappucino were a nice end to our early evening.
Pretty casual place and we'd return to try out more tapas.

MY REVIEW: What a great place. reminds me of a europoean bar or NYC dive.
I ordered several tapas hich were all fresh and flavorful. The caipirinhas were some of the best ive tasted. I had one with passionfruit and it was awesome.
Crushed ice, good cachaca,...nice. The service is relaxed but friendly. What you expect from such a bar.I will be back and can't wait to sample the wine list...

MY REVIEW: I found this place to be one the few restaurants/bars that serves fresh and flavorful food. The salado do mar was outstanding (a compliment to the freshness of the seafood and to the chef). The staff is nice and they made excellent wine recommendations. I find this place to be an excellent wine bar and I would definitely recommend it.

MY REVIEW: Finally made it to Oporto last night. I was pleasently surprised. The atmosphere was great, and staff friendly. We ordered almost everything on the tapas portion of the menu and it was great. Favorites were the baked brie with figs and Piquillo peppers relllanos. The wine list was informative and not intimidating. Prices were reasonable. For dessert the owner brought us a new dessert called Pastel de Natas. This was amazing. Apparently it is the most popular dessert in Portugal. I can see why... I will be back to try the back side of the menu pizza's, panini, and cheeses.***

MY REVIEW: Wow, my tastebuds were celebrating the whole time I was there. The recommendations on the wines were excellent with the most yummiest tapas I have ever had. The cheese tray was also a delight. The ceviche was so fresh and the empanadas were perfectly flaky and spiced. We ate every last drop of the mussels cooked in fresh tomato wine sauce. Desert empanadas and the lemon custard were outstanding. Everything was extremely fresh. The restaurant is not big but the friendly bartender makes everyone want to cozy up to the bar anyways. We will definitely return soon!

MY REVIEW: Tried Oporto out last week and was delighted. Great wine, service and food. I am a big fan of Tapas and wish we had more of those types of restaurants around. It was v.v.v. quiet on a Thursday and apparently bursts at the seams on Fri/Sat. The food was very flavorful and fresh, and I will certainly be going back soon.

MY REVIEW: On the GOOD Side: The food was absolutely outstanding, as others have proclaimed. A ham and gruyere quiche straight out of the oven was as light as a feather and had such fantastic flavor that everyone at the table emitted cries of extacy. The salads that came with our sandwiches were perfectly dressed and very fresh.
On the BAD Side: It took forEVER to get our sandwiches. There were two other people in the restaurant, so clearly the kitchen wasn't overwhelmed. I could probably have gone back there and put our orders together myself in half the time. The music was annoyingly loud. We asked the waiter to turn the volume down, which he did, but a guy sitting at the bar who was either an employee or a regular said "I tell you that every day!" which doesn't bode well for future visits. The temperature of the place was uncomfortably cold. One of my lunchmates literally had to hunch over her plate the whole time as she was freezing. I couldn't feel my feet by the end of the meal. It took about the same amount of time to get our checks as it did to receive our food. So, I would have to give the server very poor marks overall, even though he was very charming.
I will return, but I'll make sure I wear fall clothing and have time for a 2 hour lunch.

MY REVIEW: The first time I went there, there was hardly anyone there. I thought this was just a wine bar. A mother and her daughter came in, sat down and relaxed on the sofa, and savored several tapas. I thought they looked so cute.
The next time I went, I took my grand daughters who loved the tapas and the dessert. So, I have continued to go there. The tapas are great. The hummus is different with sun dried tomatoes. My favorite one is the goat cheese rolled in walnut dust and covered with a tomato sauce...this is one of the best tapas I have ever eaten. The meat and cheese selection is limited, but they are good. The wines by the glass are surprisingly low in price. Rick has gone out of his way to select very good, but low priced wines. The prices are less than half of the other wine bars in town. I especially liked the rioja.
I have been there several times in the evening and it has been a very cozy atmosphere. Last week I went there on a Thursday evening, and what a change. The place was packed, all tables and chairs were taken, music so loud I couldn't hear myself belch, and there were at least 20 people outside standing around with their glasses of wine. (I'm not sure how legal that is) Bottom line....this place has now been DISCOVERED, and I am afraid that it will ruin the place I loved. If this is the case, Rick, you need to find a bigger place FAST.

MY REVIEW: Loved it! Not very crowded on a Sat night, but it should be! Walking in, it immediately reminded me of NYC. The intimate setting, the ambiance, dark wine bar - very NYC. The wine list is huge, and extensive.
About half of the food menu is small plate tapas (priced $5-8) and a "build-your-own 3, 4, or 5 meat & cheese" plate. We ordered 5 (~$12?) - a great plate to split. I also ordered one of their paninis ($6) and a salad ($6) - and at those prices, I thought they would be small! Apparently, only the TOP part of the menu is tapas-size. The salad was HUGE - came in a big bowl - definitely a good size to split! The proscutti, fig, and cheese panini was my favorite part of the meal. Yummy!

MY REVIEW: What a gem! The atmosphere was wonderful and the service was great. The empanadas were so good...the flakiest crust. The sausage and meatballs were wonderful in a fabulous tomato sauce. We tried the tomato basil soup, which would have been great on pasta as well. Everything about this place was good. Will definitely be back.

MY REVIEW: Very relaxing atmosphere. Bartender Marco was very knowledgeable about their wine selection. He even found a red that my husband, not an avid wine drinker, loved. Nice light fare to accompany wine. We will definitely make this one of our regular spots.

MY REVIEW: What a neat place! The atmosphere is wonderful, cozy and tavern-esque. This trip I tried the Mareira and some tawny port, both fabulous! Next trip I'm going for some tapas, everything looks delicious. The service is great and particularly knowledgable. I have already sent several friends to try it!

MY REVIEW: I took a girl friend for dinner on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised by the delectable tapas style dishes. It was our first time and we ordered the New Zealand mussels (fresh), goat cheese dish (warm and ohsoyumm), empanaditas (crispy, flaky and nicely paired with freshly made warm marmelade), and seafood ceviche (light and irresistable). We ordered the carrot cake and gelato and we finished it all. The atmosphere is casual -- the chairs have spoons on the backside! They have bossa nova music playing in the background.
I brought my boyfriend a few weeks later and we listened to the live flamenco guitarist. I was sad to see that the ceviche was not on the menu. We tried the paella, but that was small and bland and barely worth mentioning. I ordered the empanaditas again and they were great, but the marmelade was cold and it didn't taste as good. There weren't any desserts I wanted so I was glad that the capucchino was large and dreamily filling.
A place to try out and hopefully I'll discover more treats on the next visit!

MY REVIEW: Nice atmosphere, very great tasting food. My wife did not think she would like the food. But she keeps begging me to take her for lunch again.

MY REVIEW: A most unexpected gem. I was waiting for some take out from C*ollina's (which is next door to Oporto) and I happend to see this place next door. So I went in and was very surprised. Really cool looking place, nice bar, hip couch by the window. The menu looked very interesting, lots of Portugese stuff I have never tried, but plenty of other recognizable stuff too. Plenty of cofee and drinks, good selection of fresh pastries, lots of interesting sounding sandwiches and salads and some fresh pasta dishes.
I asked the guy behind the bar, some guy named Rick ( found out later he was the owner/chef) if he was only open for lunch since the menu looked geared towards day time. He said they serve dinner from Thursday-Saturday and put out a different menu at night. They are also going to be a wine bar but he said they were waiting for their license. However, he said they were offering complimentary wine with any purchase (who could resist that?) so I ordered something called "Camaroons Piri-Piri". I must say it was damn good: Spicy shrimp in some sort of garlic, portugese pepper sauce. The wine he gave me was a nice portugese white that went really well with the tapas I was eating.
I think they are shooting to be some sort of cool little wine/tapas bar by night. The played some really good tunes ( acid jazz maybe, thievery corporation??) The first tapas was so good, I tried something else which was some kind of seafood ceviche. Again, and I am extremely critical, it was very good. Lump crab meat, shrimp, and some very tasty sauce that was so good I used the great bread on the side to sop up all the remaining sauce from the ceviche. Anyway, was having such a good time, I forgot about my to go from next door. Got home and wished I had only gotten take out from Oporto instead. (Way better then what I got from next door) It's a new place and Rick said business was still slow, so I implore all foodies and people who like high quality food and wine in a hip environment to check this place out.
