MY REVIEW: Horrible, just horrible...

My co-workers and I having been cominig to Goose's for about 3 months. Today, Feb 29th, we were kicked out of our regular spot, so they could have a party. The manger, who was completely unprofessional and appalling rude to me, lied and told me the party stared at 5:15. As of 6:30 the same night the party had not started yet. We were told that we had to be out of the place by 5:15. This is the second time we have been moved. About 2 months previously, we were told that parties are held downstairs, but you can sit upstairs at a table without worry. We were upstairs and still basically 'forced to move'. The sad part, is no one told us that they needed the area. We are regular Firday afternoon/night customers and usually spend about 30 to 50 dollars a piece (between 5 to 7 people ever week).

This bar/resturant doesn't seem to give a you know what about customers. We are now going to spend our money and time at the F*ox and the Hound and I highly reccommend you do also.

MY REVIEW: I just got off the phone after calling to see if I could make a reservation for my birthday on Sat. 16. The man answering the phone identified himself as Chef ***. He seemed put out about "getting the book" to see if I could make a reservation, and once he returned to the phone used such an inhospitable tone to "tell" me that they don't take reservations for less than ten but that since he didn't already have a reservation... I hung up. I felt like any attempt at enjoying my birthday in an environment with a chef/representative like that would be solely up to me and my friends - no thanks! There are a lot of other excellent restaurants in the area that are not only delicious but happy to have you.

MY REVIEW: Took the family ther for dinner last night. host was undesirable, non enthusiastic about us being there at all. Waiter, Joey, was great. We love the food especially the appetizer.artichoke with sun rippen tomato, delicious. Serve with a varies types of breads for dipping. The kids enjoyed the chips and dips that were provided.(cheese, salsa, and guacamole)Dinner included tenderloin steak salad, rotisserie chicken sandwich, Four cheese pizza, chicken strips and fries. All were very delicious. To top off we had pound cake with fresh berries, cheesecake, and 7 layer chocolate cake. This place has excellent food. Host may not be needed. Restrooms were stock well but culd have used a once over.

MY REVIEW: A busy evening, ordered a dinner and a salad, everything arrived all at once, which was not what I expected. Think they need to understand something about sequence of servings. Food was bland--no real reason to go back.

MY REVIEW: Last nite we ordered the "bone in" ribeye at the suggestion of the waiter. First, we ordered it medium rare, like we always do at most restaurants, to make sure we get a true medium. Well the steak actually arrived medium rare, who knew? So we sent it back to cook just a little longer, which the waiter was happy to do. It was the best steak we have eaten in a long time. Good portion, very tender and excellent flavor. We were told it was the espresso rub. Anyway, it was a busy nite, the waiter worked very hard and did an execellent job. We chose this restaurant on this evening because we had a coupon for a free appetizer from fundraiser book. Turns out, we left it in the car...but after the wonderfull meal, were happy to pay for the appetizer anyway...you simply must try the artichoke dip, and they also did an execellent pour on the Black and Tan. I am still thinking about that steak, this is the first review I've ever written.

MY REVIEW: First time we visited a few months ago, we wandered up from a Sunday AM stroll along the water. We ate outside, and generally were pleased with pizza and pot pie. Returned this past Sunday, and were greatly disappointed. As my daughter commented - - "we have been doing a lot of waiting". It was not busy, but maybe we made the mistake of sitting in the bar. Very haphzard service. I got fish and chips, my wife had a salad and she and my daughter split a pizza. Nice effort to split pizza for us, but it turned-out to be burned. Needless to say, the meal was lost when I am eating my entree while they wait. No apologies from mgmt, and no adjustment to bill. The few people drinking alcohol seemed to get the attention. Go to drink, not to eat.

MY REVIEW: My group had lunch here and the atmosphere was charming, the food excellent, but the service bad. Apparently they are not set up for a large group. It took us 20 minutes to get our credit card slips/change back and the lunch hour was over. If they get their act together this can be a really good place. I had fish and chips; a British lady in our group had the same and said it was absolutely authentic.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I had heard about The Goose's Acre from some friends of ours. They had told us the story of the bar coming from Ireland and it sounded like a cool place so we thought we would check it out. We went for lunch on a Friday afternoon and sat on the patio and had a fantastic time!! The service was above great and the Enzo pizza was probably one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The water taxi coming by frequently was a nice touch. I can't wait to come back and check out the night life here.

MY REVIEW: After reading a review of this restaurant in the local magazine "Cahoots" we were looking forward to visiting. While the atmosphere was pleasant, the food was a huge disappointment. Three of us in our party of six ordered the potato soup and it was cold. We sent the soup back, and the next round of soup offered to us was barely any hotter than what we had just sent back. For dinner, 3 of us ordered ribs, and they were cold. Another member of our party ordered pasta which turned out to be lukewarm and tasteless. We will not be going here again, unless it is for drinks only!

MY REVIEW: If you go for the booze and nice pub atmosphere, great. If you go for the food, you will be unhappy. We had three meals tonight and all were mediocre at best. Pizza-soggy, tasteless. Better off with a delivery pizza. Fish and chips only a tad better than Mrs. Paul's or Gortons. Chicken salad- wilted, insipid and drowning in salad dressing-glub, glub. What a shame. Unfortunately, the owners must have thought that the food was an afterthought. In fairness, the alcohol is where the profit is. But since that is the case, stick to burgers and fries and forget pretending that there is a chef somewhere on the premises.

MY REVIEW: We chose this spot for our first date and we loved the place. Went downstairs to hear some great music, had calamari, sure I just tore that spelling up, drank, danced and the atmosphere was awesome. Went again and heard another great band, staff was quick and everyone had a great attitude. This is now our new spot to go and hang out and relax..enjoy the music and food. Highly recommend this Pub..

MY REVIEW: I was afraid I might have lost my taste for Guinness since being back in the US after a 9 year assignment in Scotland. The pub was somewhat busy, but the staff was efficient enough. The Guinness was brilliant!..well perhaps a little cold, but so much better than others I have tried from establishments around town. I had the fish and chips for dinner, which was pretty good, but I think I longed a little too much for the greasy, newspaper wrapped version with mushy peas.

Great place and I will certainly be back.

One thought; where are the cigarette burns, smoke stains, dings dents etc. on the "authentic" old bar from Ireland?

MY REVIEW: My wife and I were on our way to the movie and decided to try out this Irish pub for lunch. Haveing traveled Ireland it was a great feeling to return to an Authentic Old Irish Pub. We were even able to relate to the town this pub was relocated from.

The potato&leek soup was the best I have had since Tipperary. We look forward to seeing the Line Dancers in Feb. and just stopping by for a pint now and then.

The pubs in Ireland pride themselves with good Irish music and singers, which I did miss, but they are usually locals. Maybe this will come as the pub grows with the community.

MY REVIEW: Reminded us of our favorite place in Banff, Canada. Waitress said the entire contents of the bar had been shipped from Ireland, so it has a somewhat authentic Irish pub feel, although to please American palates, lots of American fare food. However, the Shepard's pie and Fish & Chips were excellent. Pizza and salads were supurb. Reasonable prices for some great food. Atmosphere was nice, no blaring music or tv sports to spoil conversations. Guinness is extra cold; fresh strong taste, so I will assume they clean the pipes nightly? Only complaint is that our waitress was preoccupied with her co-workers and her lunch meal. Constantly had to call her over, never asked about refills, had to ask for menus. Come on! A friendly Irish bar has to earn a reputation...still, we liked it and will return. Slainte!

MY REVIEW: Wow! A real Irish pub here in The Woodlands! Amazing! Great atmosphere, beer on tap, wood-fired pizza and quality entertainment. Excellent place to hang. Thanks for coming to The Woodlands, Brian O'Neill! Now, we'll never have to leave The Woodlands. Goose's Acre reminded us of the Irish pubs we had all over the west side of Cleveland (Ohio, that is!). Felt right at home and we're not even Irish! We'll be regulars.

MY REVIEW: My wife and stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, the 3rd day they had been open. Nice atmosphere on the Waterway, good menu, friendly service. Excellent if they'd been operating for a decade much less for only 3 days. We'll definitely go back.
