Tony's Mexican Restaurant - Katy

MY REVIEW: I am a creature of habit....ALways order the same combination plate. One time I tried the beef enchiladas. FANTASTIC! great flavor and plenty to eat. The ritas are wayyy better that ...sitos too! Best we have ever had. The service is always excellent! Everyone in my family goes to Tony's too. We have already been twice this week :-)

MY REVIEW: We go here all of the time. I have to say the food is just ok. But we get the fajitas along with the bacon wrapped shrimp and that is always good there. Chile con queso is great. Sure there are better restuarants out in katy but we go there for the margaritas. Not any place better for margaritas out this way. Customer service is always excellent. they are always very fast here and always checking on us. All in all this is one of our favorites out in Katy to go to!

MY REVIEW: Good Mexican food is very easy to find in metro-Houston (excellent Mexican is a bit harder) so the merely good places need to find an edge to stand out. Sadly Tony's doesn't make the cut for us. Although the service was outstanding (however the place was less than 1/3 full), the food was lacking.

They serve a very good (warm) chip with two lackluster red salsas. Actually one red salsa is borderline poor - virtually no taste. One of the two red salsas has a little bite, but does not stand out in anyway at all.

We ordered two entrees: Fajita Tacos and Fajita Burritos Especial. Both came with diced fajita meat and both were dry and over-cooked, it appeared that the they used meat from leftover fajitas? The Burritos consisted of the diced meat rolled in a flour tortilla and covered w/ queso - nothing else. Dry meat in a flour tortilla - it needed some sauce, onions/peppers, etc or something. It was a very dry and bland dish. Ditto the Tacos; the same diced meat in a flour tortilla, except with lettuce, tomato, and shredded cheese. Also dry and bland.

Bottom Line: Excellent service! Excellent chips w/ mediocre (at best) salsa. The entrees we tried were very dry and bland. I doubt we return; but if we do we'll try entrees from their House Specialties menu - the tacos and burritos aren't worth a return trip.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I have been going to Tony's in Katy since 2008. We love the employees, owners, margaritas and the food. They have catered my work parties and we have brought family and friends there...they all LOVE it! The owners and manager of Tony's are the nicest people you will ever meet. They always make you feel welcome. I would recommend them any day : ).

MY REVIEW: Service was the best hands down. The guacomole was the best I have ever had anywhere period. The cheese enchilada was good also. The taco however was very bland as was the queso. One of the hot sauces was so bland but I guess it was meant for kids. Don't anticipate going back. No hard feelings, I've just had better in Katy.

MY REVIEW: Hubby and I went here on our date night. The food was great (tasted like Grandma's cooking). The Margaritas were wonderful...we are very picky about our Margaritas. The kids and I went back a couple of weeks later and had a great time. My little one is very picky on his meal....he cleaned his plate. We will be back.

MY REVIEW: We eat at Tony's 2-3 times a month. It is THE BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN KATY, BAR NONE! The food is great, the margarita's will literally "knock your socks off" and the service is the best you will ever find. Tony prides himself in never having to have a "Happy Hour" as his Margarita's are same price always but have twice the taquilla you will get anywhere else. We have booked a New Years Eve party at Tony's for 25 of our Family Members who will all be attending the Navy/Missouri Texas Bowl game that afternoon

MY REVIEW: We LOVE this place, it is like going over to family's house to eat. The employees treat our kids like family. Ray is HANDS down one of the best around. Very attentive, friendly and just all around warm and welcoming. I don't think I have had a bad meal here.. And IMHO the fajitas are the best in Katy. Menu has a wide variety of meals and they always accommodate special request.

If you haven't ever been here, you are really missing out on a great place, with friendly, attentive service.

MY REVIEW: We eat here very often. The staff is super friendly and attentive - you never have to wait for salsa, chips or drink refills. The food is great and my daughter loves it (she is 2 and has been going since she was a newborn). I love the fact that their beans are vegetarian. I have never had a bad meal. The salsa is delicious, served warm and the margaritas are great!

MY REVIEW: We LOVE this place! The service is great, the food is delish, and the margaritas packa bunch (closest I have had to the old M*olina's off Highway 6 that is now closed)!

The chips and salsas are very good, and are promptly refilled. I haven't had a bad meal here (very fond of the quesadillas and flameado). My kids love the food (and they are VERY picky). Anywhere we go or even at home, my 6-year old now calls chile con queso "rays dip" because that is what he always eats at Tony's.

All in all, great food, service and fun - highly recommended!

MY REVIEW: Fabulous. My husband and I are regulars and have a standing 'date night at Tony's'. The service is wonderful. The food is awesome and they always keep the drinks coming. The owner is very involved and knows us by name and our orders by heart. I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant!

MY REVIEW: We love this place. We used to go to the one in Houston, but now that its in Katy we dont have to make that drive. The ritas are wonderful!! The enchiladas are great. Very excited about going back!

MY REVIEW: We love this place -- its close to our house, has the freshest food and the service is second to none! Your drinks are always filled promptly, as is the chips and salsa. Their guacamole is fantastic and so fresh. We really do love this place because they have a lot of great menu items and the food tastes different than every other mexican restaurant in Katy. The food and service really out shine the competition!!!

MY REVIEW: i love the fast and friendly service!!! they have a big variety of menu choices the food always taste good. My girlfriend loves the chile con queso... I totally recomend the margaritas, they are very good. Oh and please before you go don't forget to ask Rey for the special flan covered with baileys!!!

MY REVIEW: Very friendly service - average quality... some food was bland, some was good. The margaritas are comparable to the old M*olina's off Hwy 6. The cheese enchiladas and taco were very good - the queso was basically a melted block of velveeta with nothing in it. I may go back for geographical convenience.
