MY REVIEW: Best hot dog in town. 5 star! Fun place for the kids too, with all the New York themed stuff and they even had a kids channel on one of the televisions. Desserts looked amazing, but I was already full. Even the kids dog was foot-long. Definitely will be back!

MY REVIEW: If you want a deli SANDWICH, this is the place! But come hungry as even the "express" (smaller) sandwiches are huge. Barry does a nice job making a go of this place. Now it's not Westheimer out here in the Portofino Center, so don't expect all you get down there in Montrose and it is not Austin either. It has it's own identity and the word "Express" captures the theme very well. You'll have a nice meal. Give it a try.

MY REVIEW: Wow, WOW!!! The staff was great and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was also great. This was my first time going to Katz's but I had been anxious to go. I had seen it's commercials and the food looked great. I finally located this one in The Woodlands as I went hunting for lunch. I order the Smoked salmon, not knowing that it was uncooked. It was my first time ever eating uncooked salmon. The combination of the sandwich was something to give an award over. I love it, and I will most defiantly go back frequently.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I wanted to eat light for lunch since we were headed for a big dinner later. We decided Katz's Express. We had never been there before so I was thinking a sandwich would be perfect. I ordered the express sized meatball sandwich and my husband ordered the Pastrami. To my surprise, the meatball sandwich was HUGE! And it was so delicious...it was the best meatball sandwich I have ever had! My husbands pastrami was also very big, and he loved it! We also ordered the Fried Pickles ahead of time which were excellent! I didn't care for the chips as they seem to be homemade there and kinda too thick, but my husband seem to like them. I love the free pickles they have available as well. Service was good, and the order taker seemed very knowledgeable about the menu and was very helpful in making our decision. If you want to eat light, this is not the place! In our 2nd visit, I again had the meatball sandwich and my husband had the Shea. He loved the Shea and his comment after almost every bite was "this is awesome". Will go back, as I am anxious to try out other things on their menu!

MY REVIEW: Very clean atmosphere with helpful, kind and not overly anxious staff. We went in looking for a good reuben and they delivered. Both the traditional style and the turkey pastrami reubens were excellent. And the "express" portion was plenty! At only $6.99 (including some excellent homemade potato chips), it was a good deal.
Additionally, one gentleman in my party didn't realize the sandwich he ordered had smoked salmon and not "cooked" salmon, so he went to order a salad and they simply took back the sandwich and gave him a free caesar! Great job, Katz. You've earned our repeat business.

MY REVIEW: I had the Reuben sandwich and it was awesome. Best I have ever eaten. Also, the pickles were a nice touch.

MY REVIEW: We, too, were very disappointed. My husband got the Shea Stadium and the toast was burned and it had more bread (3 slices) than meat or cheese. And this was the Classic sandwich! Wonder how much meat the express would have had on it. I got a bagel with cream cheese thinking that since was a NY style deli that they would have excellent bagels. Was I wrong! They are gritty-chewy and the ones you can get at B*rooklyn Bagels are much much better. Even the store bought ones you toast yourself are better. The free pickles were great, tho. I'm sure they have some really good items on their menu, but we don't expect we will go back to try any. Once burned, twice shy. And we were so looking forward to the place opening here in the area.

MY REVIEW: This place is awesome! We have been waiting for this place for months. The Rueben is just how I remembered from the downtown store, that also frequent when I'm in Houston. We welcome you, Katz's Express. Thnak you.

MY REVIEW: Very disappointed. Got the Brooklyn Brunch. Small portion of meat. Wife got same order with scrambled eggs. Looked like one egg or less. Much prefer J*ason's Deli. Probably won't return

MY REVIEW: FOOD: CHIPS - YAK BASKET, BUT FREE PICKLES. CORNED BEEF - TASTY. RYE BREAD - FEH. ICED TEA - GOOD. PROVOLONE - EH. BUBBY'S MOTZA BALL SOUP - TOO SALTY FOR IT'S OWN GOOD.
CASHIER/ORDER TAKER: BEAUTIFUL, BLONDE, YOUNG, BUT I COULD HEAR THE DISTINCT SOUND OF WIND WHISTLING THROUGH HER HEAD. NO KNOWLEGE OF DELI TERMINOLOGY, OR FOOD. "WE DON'T HAVE PROVOLONE BREAD." THIS PLACE WOULDN'T EVEN BE A PIMPLE ON A DELI'S BUTT IN DELI COUNTRY.

MY REVIEW: YUMMMM! Our office group tried lunch here today and we were all impressed. I had the Katz Meow on a fresh, buttered French roll and it was so good, with meats generously piled on with a Russian dressing. I was a happy camper. Others tried the Cobb Salad which was big and fresh, or the stuffed cabbage, which looked so golden brown and good I wanted a bite myself. We split a macaroon for dessert (yes, they're big enough) and decided they were far superior to the ones you get at that "fuddy" burger chain. Service (once we got up to the register... there was a line) was friendly and fast. The only let-downs were the endless suggestive selling at the register, and the potato salad and onion rings, which were the same as you could get at a supermarket. But I give this place very high marks overall and will be back soon.

MY REVIEW: We tried Katz's Express this weekend for my father's birthday. There were seven us in the party and it took quite a while for the cashier to take our orders, but I will give her credit since it was her first day. The main cashier was very nice though and even set up a table for us since we were a larger party. This place is more of a seat your self atomsphere. The price of the food is not bad at all, our total was $82 for seven people with meals and drinks, two appetizers, and a malt.
Now for the food, it came out in a pretty timely mannger. My father got the reuben sandwich and said it was great, he said it is very hard to find a good reuben in Houston. I got the turkey sandwich (Times Square) and so did my husband, the turkey itself was ok, but the toast was burnt to a crisp. Also I had gotten the express size and my husband got the klasic, but when they came out, there was barely a size difference, not worth the extra price. Three other people in our party got the Cheeseburger, which they said was not good at all, pretty bland. One other person got the corned beef sandwich and said it was very tasty. The sandwichs all came with Katz's homemade potato chips, this is one thing I would ask if you could substitute. They were bland, no flavor at all. The fries that came with the burgers were good. They were steak fries.
We ordered the appetizers of fried pickles. Katz's serves fried pickle spears instead of the burger slices that the Hot W*ings places serve. The fried pickles were excellent! They were seasoned just right.
Our overall experience was good, but the food is bland. Hopefully it is just because the place just opened in the Woodlands. My father said he would go back for the reuben sandwich, but the rest of us would probably skip over this place for now on.
