MY REVIEW: I usually go for lunch. The food is pretty good however the service is so-o-o bad. All the wait staff run around like chickens with their heads cut off. They are not friendly and throw the plates down on the table. You never get tea refills unless you ask. Last time I went, 3 tables that got seated after me were done eating their meal before ours was even served. No one seems to know what's going on. I don't think I will go back anytime soon.

MY REVIEW: We arrived about 8:00p.m. Very few people in the restaurant, but we had to wait while the waiter argued with a waitress over a problem with another table. Food came quickly, and initially tasted good. However, we were suddenly overcome by the fumes from disinfectant in the kitchen. We always thought taste and smell were linked. Apparently that's not a concept this restaurant understands. The meal was ruined. We could not taste the food. The manager's response was to tell us that the floors have to be cleaned before the restaurant closes at 9:30p.m. This is now 8:30??? We will never eat here again and would not recommend it to anyone. Awful experience.

MY REVIEW: After not visiting for a few weeks, I decided to give this place another try. The first thing that happened was two of the waitresses starting fighting (in Chinese) over my table. Simultaneously, neither of them waited on me. When I finally got a chance to ask for an iced tea, a water was dumped on my table and I was forgotten for a while. I then had to get the attention of a 3rd waitress to order. The soup came out simultaneous to the entree, which was left to sit and get cold. This visit was my absolute last.

MY REVIEW: After reading the reviews about the service dated back in 2007, I wanted to update the discussion. Having been there a few times now, and taking others with me for lunch, service has improved considerably. The waitress was very attentive - maybe they are reading these reviews and trying to improve on this. The food is always FRESH and quick. The price for lunch is reasonable and you get more than you need at that time. I especially liked the chicken asparagus - so crisp and fresh!

MY REVIEW: I think the food is pretty good. I've had better. But I would recommend the "Moo Shee" (they spell it this way on their menu), the egg rolls and ribs. The one problem I have is the rice. The food portions are good for the price, but the rice is never enough to go with the food. It's also never cooked properly. It's hard. The correct way to serve rice with any Asian dinner is to serve what is called "sticky rice." It's hot, not hard, and it sticks together. Chang's rice reminds me of uncooked Uncle Ben's. Anyway, if they could change the rice, it would be a nice place to eat.

MY REVIEW: I have been to Chang's a number of times and was at first impressed how the flavors of the soups and sauces exploded in your mouth. But lately, not so much. It seems to be getting a bit more bland and pastuerized. Now, the crab puffs did seem to have a little something extra (mint?) for a finishing flavor, but the hot and sour soup and the sesame chicken just weren't as flavorful as in the past. Still pretty good, just not as good. I don't see any problems with service or friendliness. They were very busy last Friday night but they were attentive to our needs.

MY REVIEW: I'm still in withdrawals from my neighborhood favorite (H*ong Kong) closing in October, 2007. I've tried Chang's 5 times since then. Mostly with work associates, but once solo for lunch. The atmosphere is very noisy. The acoustics are terrible. Not a good place for conversation and "settling in" for a good meal. Twice, I have risen to locate the pitcher of tea to pour it for myself. Once you order, they forget about you. The entire scene seems rushed. The manager NEVER SMILES and NEVER makes eye contact. The staff does not interact with the clientele at all; they just go through the motions of serving and clearing the table for the next paying customer. I have never been greeted upon entry or exit. The ONLY reason I continue to return is that other restaurants in the area cook with cabbage or celery, which have distinct tastes of their own, and which, in my opinion, are not as good in chinese dishes as bok choy, which is a chinese cabbage. Chang's is the only place I have found that uses bok choy in their dishes. Again, I miss H*ONG KONG desperately!

MY REVIEW: We live around the corner from Chang's so we had to try it out. My son liked his General Tso's chicken and I had a beef/chicken/shrimp combo that was above average. Two dinners and two waters, our bill was just over $15 - not bad! We both commented that the egg rolls were very good.

Lots of complaints here about bad service but we had a nice smiley Asian lady who was very attentive (only three other occupied tables during our visit). Having travelled to Asia, the smile-less-ness of the staff could be a cultural thing. There was a tall beautiful older lady at the door who NEVER smiled as far as I could see ... Maybe they'll warm up to us white folk some day!

Since we had a good experience, we'll likely be back.

MY REVIEW: After having lunch at this restaurant several times, I will say that the food is good and the service is good, although I must mention that I don't go there during the busiest times. One very curious thing that I have noticed consistently is that the manager never smiles, indeed he looks angry. A few of the servers smile and act like it's not too terrible to work there.

MY REVIEW: I am retracting my review. My last experience with Chang's was very poor. I have eaten there several times and the food has always been good but the service below average. My last visit the food was again good but the service was horrible. That will probably be the last time I eat there. I'd rather pay $50 for P*F Chang's and better service.

We went around lunch time about 12:30pm and there were more people in there than when we usually go but they were by no means crowded. They only had two servers working during what should be their busiest hours. It took at least 15 min just to get someone to take our drink orders and another 15 min to take our food order. We received our soup and egg rolls before our drinks. By the time we received our entrees our drinks were empty again. My wife didn't have a drink at all while eating her entree. We stopped the other waiter, who was not our waiter, and asked for a refill. He walked by us 4 times without giving us a refill or to stop and say "I'm getting it now". We had to stop our server to get our refill. And we watched as she cleared several tables before getting the refill. Then the other waiter finally comes by and says "oh you got your drink". By then we were ready to leave. We also saw other people filling their own glasses with tea and asking for assistance.

Again the food was good but they also tried to charge us for a refill that my wife didn't get a chance to drink.

So my advice is this, if you go to Chang's, then go between 2 and 4pm. Other than that, the service will be horrible. The waiters were nice but very poor at their job. I doubt I'll ever return to Chang's unless they get some new management.

MY REVIEW: This place is great. Best Chinese food in the area. Friendly staff and the food is fresh. Vegetables cooked perfectly. This is about the third time we have been here and have been pleased every time. Will definately go again.

MY REVIEW: For the price, this is probably some of the best Chinese food in Katy/Houston. Service is average but I cannot complain. Compared to some of the other buffets that Katy has, Chang's food is way better. Some of their beef is quite cheap and chewy but still had a fair amount of flavor. Is it authentic Chinese food? No, you'll have a hard time finding that in Houston. Chang's is a great place for lunch or if you want something inexpensive.

MY REVIEW: We visited Chang's today for the first time and were very pleased with the food. Both of us love Chinese food and found this food to be equal, if not better, than most other Chinese restaurants in the Katy area. My husband got the lunch special with Moo Goo Gai Pan, which had lots of vegetables and nice big chunks of chicken. I got the Beef with Garlic Sauce and it had a spicy sweet sauce that was really good. The egg rolls were cripsy and loaded with pork and vegetables. We will definitely return often. The only thing that could have been a little better was the friendliness of the waiter. Aside from that, it was a wonderful meal at a good price. I highly recommend this place.

MY REVIEW: We have eaten there and had take out, both awesome but the inhouse portion was noticably larger. Their shrimp chow mein is one of the best dishes I have ever had. Chicken was OK, but the shrimp for some reason is soooo good! Not the friendliest place, though.

MY REVIEW: Pretty basic American style Chinese and they need to add the flavor as it was missing from my dish Lo- Mien and Kung Pa chicken. I agree egg roles were pretty descent.

MY REVIEW: LOVE this place! The eggrolls were excellent, crispy and tasty. The crab puffs were terrific as well. We highly recommend the sweet-n-sour chicken, pork fried rice, and chicken with snow peas. All the vegetables were crisp and fresh tasting and the service was quick and friendly. Wish they delivered, but worth the trip to pick up food or eat there. The atmosphere is casual but tasteful. I think one of the reviews posted has this establishment confused with another because this Chang's does NOT deliver.

Really good prices, food, and service, it's a winner for the Katy area!

MY REVIEW: My co-workers and I found this restaurant by accident and fell in love! I think at one point, we visited this restaurant 3 days in a row. I always order the sweet and sour combo and it is the best that I have ever had. My co-workers usually the General TSO and they love it too. Not to mention, lunch is only about 5 bucks...

MY REVIEW: The best Chinese food in Katy IMHO. The restaurant is very clean and inviting with window seating that let's you enjoy the fountain in the courtyard. The food is just fantastic. We had the Sesame Beef and House Lo-Mein. There's just nobody around that prepares these dishes quite like this. I defintaely reccomend this place for a nice family dinner or even quick and hearty lunch.

MY REVIEW: Poor Service. Poor tasting food. We had our food delivered last weekend and it arrived cold and the General To's chiken was not General Tso's it was deep fried chicken breast chunks. General tso's is made with dark meat. It had no sauce. I was shocked because there was absolutely no sauce for the rice. The vegetables where still raw. They where not crisp they where raw. The portion was half of what you get from any other place. The eggrolls had absolutely no taste.

The shredded pork in Garlci sauce was pretty tasty but The portion was way too small for my husband and I to share because he does not like rice and besides the rice was hard and dry so we did not want to eat it. Basically our dinner was ruined. The managment are not helpful at all.
