Cafe at Brookwood

MY REVIEW: Beautiful setting and the food is AMAZING! The gardens are beautiful, everyone, EVERYONE is so friendly. The chef is exceptional and so creative. They are only open for lunch, so make reservations because they do get busy. This is such a unique dining experience. The servers are accompanied by a citizen of the Brookwood Community who always do an incredible job. It has such a warm and inviting atmosphere, it makes you want to come back again and again. The retail store is quite a treat to just walk through! They do an outstanding job with the Christmas tree displays! Great place to eat and shop!

MY REVIEW: Best kept secret in Houston (well, just 15 minute drive west of Katy). Worth the drive. Check out the beautiful Gift & Garden Center and the wonderful Cafe. The presentation is first class. You won't regret the visit.
If you plan to have lunch there, I recommend reservations...they are always booked (you won't wonder why when you eat their food). Make room for dessert or share...it is scrumptious. You won't believe behind the scenes is a very nice established community for disabled adults, each with unique functional talents.

MY REVIEW: The profile description of this cafe is about as accurate as it could get. I live near Hobby Airport, and this place is worth the drive. I had been told about Brookwood, the greenhouses, gift shop, and the cafe, but didn't really get it until I actually went there.
I have never had a meal that was anything short of excellent. The chef is creative and does an outstanding job; presentation is wonderful, and atmosphere is great.
Last week, I went to Brookwood to buy plants in their fabulous greenhouse facility, and since I didn't have reservations, placed a to-go order at the cafe - the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries, and ate at a little table outside, enjoying the beautiful grounds. The sandwich was perfect and the slightly spicy sweet potato fries were better than Cafe Express. A glass of their Tropical Tea is a perfect addition. I ordered a Mesabov Salad with chicken, to take with me, and had a most enjoyable dinner that night. Truly outstanding food and dining experience. No, I'm not on the payroll...I just think more people should know about this place.

MY REVIEW: yet another great meal at this hidden gem of the Houston area. The soup of the day was the best, roasted poblano and corn with grilled chicken. Had the Bleu Beef and it is worth the drive, try and beat it Taste of Texas! The service is always a treat with the staff that lives in the community, don't know why other restaurant have such a hard time getting orders right and this little cafe get right every time. Have to save room for the bread pudding it rocks!

MY REVIEW: An experience to which you must treat yourself. The food is delicious with beautiful presentation. I especially love their house tea, a tropical blend, very clean and crisp. The MESIBOV salad is a real palate pleaser. The desserts, AHHH the desserts! Dieting or not, at least share one with someone so you don't miss out on such a pleasing end to finish off your wonderful dining experience. What more can I say...you must experience this wonderful place for yourself. To add more pleasure after the meal, you must visit the attached gift and garden center where you will find unique crafts created by the residents who live at Brookwood. It will be well worth your time. You'll be glad you made the trip!

MY REVIEW: Our garden club did a tour of the campus and ate at the cafe. WOW. I thought it was just a store and restaurant. It's a whole wonderful community of adults with special needs. You have to go there. The store and garden center was beautiful (the plants were the prettiest in Houston). The Cafe is elegent; great food, reasonable prices, and served by wonderful residents of the community. One special place. Best kept secret in Houston if you ask me.

MY REVIEW: once again a great meal and value at the Cafe at Brookwood. Had to have my cowboy hat reshaped at Shudde Brothers Hatter there at the gift shop and decided to eat lunch. As always great portions and the flavor and presentation is some of those fancy, expensive places in Houston, Dallas and New York. Take the drive and enjoy the meal you will be glad you did.

MY REVIEW: Special are out of this world, Chef is wonderful. If you have not been to this well keep secret than you have truly missed out on a dining experience to remember. Brookwood Community is an amazing place and to dine in the cafe is good for the stomach but the experience with the citizen waitstaff feeds the soul.

MY REVIEW: The atmosphere is elegant, the staff is accomodating, the food is delicious. I love their chicken dishes, just not enough of them. Too much pork for me, I don't eat pork. The beef dishes are wonderful. The house salad is out of this world. The variety of homemade salad dressing is fabulous. Presentation is excellent, but quality and taste is magnificent.

MY REVIEW: Great value for money - most meals under $15. The salad was tasty, and the staff accommodating to our requests (dessing on side, switching fried chicken for grilled, etc).
Only open for lunch; 11-2pm (I think). Dessert tray looks wonderful, but we're on a diet so we gave it a miss! Will definately go back.

MY REVIEW: The food is so delicious. The variety is great and desserts, excellent. I do wish they would serve more chicken entrees. There is a lot of pork, delicious pork, but I prefer chicken.
The manager stopped by and greeted us graciously. It was a delightful and refresing visit.

MY REVIEW: In addition to being a really interesting work concept, the cafe offers consistently good and sophisticated fare. The first time my husband and I tried it, we didn't realize reservations are HIGHLY recommended. We couldn't figure out why so, since this place was pretty far out of town. Once we were seated and served it became obvious! There is not a comparable restuarant for miles. The cloth napkins and tablecloths, garden view and varied menu make this a really nice choice for celebrations and special lunches. I only wish they were open for dinner.

MY REVIEW: It is always a treat to go to the Cafe at Brookwood. The menu changes from season to season so it is always a nice surprise to see whats new. I have never been disappointed in anything I have ordered. The food, along with the service, is excellent and of course the shopping in the adjoining gift store and greenhouse is always a delight. Chef Laura's creative desserts are the best. It is always a pleasure to have a "Brookwood Experience".

MY REVIEW: For the last several years, Brookwood has been THE place for meeting friends to enjoy a menu with fabulous choices. We always know that regardless of our selections, each will be fresh, delicious and plenty of it. The staff and service are also excellent. There are no words to properly describe the dessert tray, but I'll try: wonderful variety, huge servings, can't-leave-a-bite good! Also a great place for parties and celebrations. Beautiful scenery and a large gift shop and nursury. Absolutely NO weak points! Oh, except calories. (but you can always work out longer!)
