MY REVIEW: We used the Earl to cater a big meeting last week at our office. On time, sandwiches still warm, no mistakes, all our clients loved the food. Flawless. My boss was very pleased with me.

These guys know what they are doing, and it really is not a contest with next door. Earl Sandwiches are so much better. Salads are fresh....One complaint I would have is that the soup is average. Get some new soups for winter and they will have the perfect restaurant.

MY REVIEW: Gotta disagree with ya Scott. Last Sunday I went to B..cks Prime just up the street. Cheesburger fries and a coke was $11 plus change. The sandwich combo in the Earl of Sandwich is about $7.50, and just as good. All my coworkers and I think the Earl is better value than P..era Br..d, service is better and I do agree with you that the Earl is just about the cleanest restaurant I have ever seen.

PLEASE open one nearer town, where I live.

MY REVIEW: Strong points: The wait staff is really on the ball. The atmosphere is really clean, make that remarkably clean and well lighted. The decor is nice.

Weak Points: the food frankly. Not that the sandwiches we had were bad, it's just that they were well overpriced. The tuna I get each time is really good. My wife's tried a few sandwiches (club, roast beef, and another one I can't remember) and she always has a good meal. Though we feel it's just flat out overpriced.

Quality wise it's on par if not a bit better than their next door neighbor. But if I'm the one choosing lunch, I go next door. I just feel a lot better going there.

MY REVIEW: I discovered the Earl of Sandwich with my husband this past Monday. The gentlemen behind the counter (CHRISTOPHER)read my name on the credit card and thanked me by name. The next day I went in with my daughter and was greeted by Chris with a HI MRS. WILLIAMS, GLAD TO SEE YOU AGAIN (the previous day was my first visit). I went back again with my son on Friday, three days later and my son and I had a bet on lunch that they knew my name. Sure enough CHRIS was there again and came from behind the counter to greet me. Hello Mrs. Williams, I see you're bringing in more business for me. At that time the son reached for his wallet and explained why he had to buy his mom lunch. The staff is wonderful the sandwiches are great and the tomato soup is cream (try dipping your sandwich in it) The service, speed and friendliness of the staff make the high cost of the sandwich worth while.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I were in the area this afternoon. Based on the rave reviews on this web site, I suggested we should give this place a try. We were very pleased with our food. My wife had the potato soup and Florentine sandwich. I had the Jerk Chicken sandwich. Everything was excellent. The sandwiches are more expensive than many places but worth the money. (The sandwiches are 6 inchches long but very wide and priced at $5.45 or something like that.) We don't live in the area but whenever we are near Sugarland we will stop. I sure wish they had a location in Northwest Houston.

MY REVIEW: Dudes

This place rocks. Food is great, my favorites are the BLT or the Caribbean Jerk. Parking sucks at lunchtime. Saw lots of people using the car park here and then going to P*anera Bread next door. Get some reserved signs Dudes, and tell all those people going next door to stop wasting their time. EOS sandwiches are SOOOOO better, its not even close. Lots of young people and families at night. My chick said the Salad was awesome.

PLEASE open one inside the loop....The gas money is too much extra cash, dude, but as long as you are the only one in town, I'm there man.

MY REVIEW: Earl of Sandwich catered lunch for the Clements HS NJROTC unit. We were hosting a senior US Navy officer for our annual inspection, and planned to provide lunch for the more than 80 cadets and parents in attendance.

Our inspection schedule was very tight, and we allowed only 45 minutes for lunch.

Earl of sandwich delivered right on time a quality product. Their club sandwiches were delicious, and the presentation was both convenient and professional. I highly recommend Earl of Sandwich as a caterer for a business or club luncheon.

MY REVIEW: I have visited the Earl prior to this review: however I am new to the b4ueat site. I just wantd to say thank you for bringing a quality sandwich shop to Sugar Land. The food is wonderful and the staff are well trained and helpful. I met Jesse ( I beleive the owner) and he is alaways friendly and fun.

The food is too die for The club sandwich is my daughters favorite. I prefer the original.

Please do NOT change a thing. We will be customers for life. Thank You

MY REVIEW: They have worked out the kinks and are a pretty good place to get a sandwich. Cheap, good quality, good selection. I dont think P*anera can stay in business if these guys keep getting better. Free internet access too! Nice library section in back with big screen tv, good for parties or meetings.

I took my English friend and he said that they were close to an authentic english sandwich shop, but no chai tea.

Weak points, not enough drink selection. They serve breakfast but no choice of coffees. They could really do MUCH better if they served 5 or 5 different flavoured coffees. P*anera has them beat here, except P*anera's breakfast foods are lacking.

MY REVIEW: W O W this place has the BEST sandwich I have ever had, so far my favorite has been the Club. Usually I don't write but when I visited last Saturday the food and service was unbelievable, we came close to closing and some kind of little boys baseball team came at that time also, and the manager (I think his name tag said Jim L....) was taking all there orders and the kids were a little excited, but he had such a good rapport with those kids and treated everyone great (like it should be). When we got up to order it was 15 minitues pass closing and he GLADLY took our order and even with all those people we got our food in less than 5 mins. and with a BIG SMILE and He said "I appreciate your business" no one says that anymore. GREAT JOB EARL

MY REVIEW: Wow! I really liked this place. I was hesitant at first to come here (the one in Sugar Land, where I live), but as soon as I got here, I must say, I was impressed! I got Le Frenchy with ham and dijon mustard, and it was very good! The bread was soft but not doughy or hard to chew, just right. I also got a granola parfae, and that was really good, too. The atmosphere was really nice, and all of the employees seemed really nice. The layout of the building wasn't too cramped, so there were plenty of places to sit. So put that together with my sweet tooth (definitely satisfied with the sandwich I got) and the nice sort of air around the place, I've gotta say: I already wanna go back! :-)

MY REVIEW: Best Sandwiches in Houston, period. Bread is tasty and filling, and the combinations offered in the actual sandwiches are what you would expect to get at a fine resort or fancy restauarnt.

The Beef and Bleu is sumptious, but perhaps a little rich for everyone's taste. The Original, which is Roast Beef and Horseradish, is far and away the tastiest Roast Beef Sandwich I ever had. The Club is also outstanding, as is the Chicken and Broccoli sandwich....I forget the name.

I went to the Mother Store in Disney, whcih I believe was the number 1 restaurant in Downtown Disney, and I really expected this place to be not so good.....It is cleaner and the service is faster. The manager, I think he was called Jim or Jesse, are constantly on top of things, and the staff, although young, are very pleasant.

I will be back as often as I am in Sugarland.

MY REVIEW: First off I will say it was a daring move putting in their shop right next to P*aneras. After going there I understand why. P*anaras focus is on their breads while Earl is about the Sandwhich.

The sandwiches come on a very well made artisan bread which is basically a very mild blank canvas for the sandwhich fillings. The meats / fillings between the bread is where the real focus is and this is how they separate themselves from P*aneras. I have had three of their sandwhiches (the original 17xx is my favorite so far) and a salad there and all of them are wonderful.

I was very impressed with the salad. The greens are in a bowl or box (for the chinese one) and they add it the meat and dressing and toss it only when you hand it to them so it does not get soggy just sitting there.

The service was very fast and friendly. I noticed that the owner(manager?) is probably also a professional chef. You could see him standing back watching his kitchen and giving direction as I have seen in some of the best five star restaurants. Jumping in when needed.

The only downside (and this is just a small gripe) is that you cannot get some extras. For example my wife wanted Avacado on her sadwhich and it was not available so you pretty much go with what they have on the menu. But as I said that is a very small gripe.

MY REVIEW: Yep, this on is a keeper! Tried the Meatball sub, and it was acceptable. Next time found the Beef N Bleu, and enjoyed it. Thought about a second one, but had run out of time. The brownies and pound cake are generous, and tasty.

We will go back preferring it to the "bakery" close by.

MY REVIEW: My sons ate here this past weekend and I promised them I would give the place a try. I am VERY impressed and I have been involved in the Food Service industry for over 20 years. I am very particular about service AND food quality/cleanliness and this place rocks!

A problem with the printer caused them to skip at least quite a few orders numbered in the 80's-90's and mine was one of them. They exhibited a fast, yet well focused recovery as the team went to work assembling, slicing and wrapping their EXCELLENT sandwiches.

Their intentions are honorable, their service is great, atmosphere is nice, the food is GREAT and the prices are very reasonable.

First visit gets a 5 star rating from me and I am a tough customer. Granted, I know they are new so I'm giving them a bit of a break too. Still, a place can only be 'new' for so long. I will be hoping and praying they work out all the kinks so we can keep them around.

MY REVIEW: This place is great. I took my family in and they even have kid sandwiches. The area in the back with the television is a great idea. My family enjoyed great food and watched our favorite team win during the cup.The staff was very attentive and looked great as well. I give the whole experience a "10"

MY REVIEW: Wow! I went in there because I noticed it right next door to another sandwich shop, and I remembered my kids loved it at Disney.

Where have these guys been hiding? The bread is UNBELIEVABLE....so soft and fresh. First day I went in, (yes, I went back the next day), I tried "The Original", which the manager says is the best seller along with The Club.

Roast beef, so soft it melted in your mouth, cheese and horseradish...What a great combo. Prices are good too, only $4.95 per sandwich. One complaint, why Pepsi, not Coke?

Service was speedy, but obviously the staff are a little new and still learning. Went back the next day and had the Tuna Melt, which may be about the best sandwich I ever had. The Chocolate Chip Cookies are magic!

I have told all my friends in Sugarland about this restaurant, and I will definitely make it a regular haunt.

Well done Roger Clemens for taking this concept to Houston. It was probably why he decided to stay, so that he could have a great sandwich, finally, in his home town.

MY REVIEW: It's obvious that it's a new restaurant and all the employees are still learning, but on my visit they were getting the food out in a speedy fashion.

The interior is large and nicer than the average sandwich shop. One section is decorated a little like a library or lounge, with magazines and newspapers available and a television on the wall. That's a nice touch, it makes it feel a little more comfortable than the average sandwich shop.

On my one visit so far I had their version of a Club Sandwich (can't recall the name, but they have cutesy little names for everything) and while it tasted good it wasn't like any Club sandwich I have ever had. First, it was on some kind of roll or bun rather than on bread - and it was a single layer sandwich rather than a double (as a Club is supposed to be). Secondly, there was some kind of dressing glopped inside of it that was particularly un-Club like. Again, it wasn't a bad sandwhich, just definitely not what I was expecting. I'll probably go back and try something else but I'll give the "Club" a pass.

MY REVIEW: Wow! This place is still working out the kinks since it just recently opened, but I've got to say that the food was really, really great! A co-worker and I went and we both loved it and will definitely go back.

I had the Full Montagu (roast beef, roast turkey and more) and she had the Caribbean Jerk Chicken, and we were both very impressed. The bread itself was very tasty & soft. It was almost like wrapping a sandwich in a pizza crust. Afterwards, we both had yogurt parfaits and they were also really good.

We will absolutely be going back and mentioning it to co-workers! Like I mentioned, still some kinks to work out, but we were still VERY impressed.
