MY REVIEW: I have been to both the Humble and the Richey Rd location. Both are horrible! The service is awful at both loactions. It took forever for someone to take the order or they would screw up the order everytime! The food is way over-priced! I agree with one of the other reviews, it seems like the food is right out of the frozen foods section at the local grocery store! Not worth the money at ALL. Also, there usually are more misbehaved children at the Movie Tavern than I notice at a regular theatre. The Movie Tavern on Richey Rd has leaks in the ceiling and the entire places smells of mold and mildew. Most of the seating is in computer-like office chairs, which roll on the floor, rock back and forth, and constantly bump the chairs next to it. Not a fun scene for a packed movie or children sitting next to you. The movies are the same price as the regular theatre [$8 for adults]. I do not plan to ever go back to the Movie Tavern. I don't recommend it to anyone!

MY REVIEW: This place is AWSOME!!! What a great idea...a movie while you eat and drink great bar drinks. The service is always friendly and the staff has great energy. They are dressing up to match new releasses and it is always a PARTY there.

MY REVIEW: Have been 3 or 4 times, at the 45 and Humble locations, and have throughly enjoyed myself every time. I guess you've got to expect from the start that this isn't a fine dining restaurant, but for hamburgers, pizza, and that type of food, to go along with a 1st run movie and a beer or margarita, this is the place.
I don't go to a lot of movies, but when I do, it will be Movie Tavern.

MY REVIEW: I am not happy with the food here. the MonteCristo Sandwich tasted like it was over fried in dirty oil! YUK! YUK! YUK! The time before that I ordered the nachos and that was another great dissapointment. As a movie theater I like the smaller crowds. BUT THE FOOD SERVICE HAS TO GREATLY IMPROVE!

MY REVIEW: Arggh!! How do you say the worst of all worlds. Since this is a food site start with that. The fish, shrimp, chicken were all directly out of the frozen food section. No real flavor except I suppose if you want to drown it in ketchup or in the white sauce that I think was tartar sauce only not as good. Because people eat during the movie, there are little lights on the table in front of you. Somewhat distracting. We went late in the afternoon and every moron with a screaming kid was there. Why you would take your toddlers and infants who are unfortunately not very well behaved (after all they are just kids) is beyond me. Had a bunch of screamers throughout the whole movie just behind us. In fairness, this probably is not a problem at night. Why not got to a regular theatre? This place is beyond horrible~!!!!!!

MY REVIEW: I have been to both the Movie Tavern in Arlington and have been to the North Freeway location and I have to say that I was more impressed with the North Frwy location. The first time I went in 4/2006 was to see Scary Movie 4 and I had a great time. The create your own pizza w/meatballs was the bomb! I went back on Memorial Day to see X Men 3 and I was disappointed that they were out of dough for pizza but I made up for it w/a blue thing-- which reminded me of those New Orleans style Hurricanes. Service always seems good and the kids @ the 7pm showing were not that bad (mine and the others in the theatre). Keep up the good work and watch out for the "haters in Houston!"

MY REVIEW: We were very disappointed in the Movie Tavern. Like the other reviewer, we also thought it was going to be more like the A*lamo Drafthouse. I think we would have fared better by going to a regular theatre to watch the movie. We went to a 7:45pm show, thinking there wasn't going to be any young children under six. Boy, were we wrong! Thoughout the whole movie (The X-Men) you could hear babies and toddlers crying or yelling. We were really shocked to see young kids sitting at the bar with their parents. There was plenty of seating elsewhere. I think that the theatre needs to seat you a whole lot earlier than 20 minutes before the show. The wait staff was still taking orders at the beginning of the movie. We do like the concept and the food was good. We just think that they need to give the waitstaff more time to get orders taken before the movie. We also think that children under 6 or even 8 shouldn't be allowed in at all after 7pm. We won't be going there again!

MY REVIEW: We were terribly disappointed in our Movie Tavern experience. The place looks nice, the seating was cool (though the chairs that you can rock in... they are basically office chairs.. squeak when you lean back and when there is a whole row of people rocking in then, the squeaking is very annoying). We were expecting it to be like the Alamo Drafthouse, but it falls far from the mark. There were children EVERYWHERE and we went to and 8:00 showing. If you are expecting a good, adult evening do not go to Movie Tavern. On the plus side the food is good if a tad bit pricey (9$ for quesadillas).

MY REVIEW: The whole movie and dinner theme has been going on for a while not but there seems to be a new emergence of sorts. The Movie Tavern is no different.
The concept is great, watch a movie and eat dinner at the same time. Ticket prices are VERY reasonable, $6 for an evening show. These aren't the $1 movies either, we actually watched MI:III there. At first, my wife and I thought that the ticket was cheap but they would get you on the food like most movie theaters do. This was not the case.
It's not gourmet food but the best way to describe it is sort of like bar food but a little better. Pizzas, burgers, salads and the like.
We had a great time. No obnoxious teenagers and hardly any crying babies. We used to watch movies at AMC but not anymore. We're hooked!
