Chinese Cuisine
9888 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, Texas 77036
MY REVIEW: The dim sum served here is one of the best kept secrets in Houston. We have tried all the dim sum restaurants, big and small, and Chinese Cuisine has the freshest, most flavorful, and most authentic that we've found. The price is reasonable, too. We have found the food quality and service to be consistently high on each of the visits we've made here. The only drawback is the air conditioner could be set colder, but they do have a strong fan that helps. The dining area is small and it can get crowded, so go either early (before 10am) or late (after 1pm).

MY REVIEW: Pros: Delicious food Unbeatable value Everything tastes as it should
Cons: Hard to find Small so can be quite crowded
I lived in Taipei for 2 years and became spoiled by the exquisite flavors that could be found everywhere I'd look. Small nestled mom and pop shops like these were everywhere. Since coming to Houston I've been treated out to many Chinese food establishments and while some were passibly edible, most were right next door to disgusting with bad texture and off seasoning. I thankfully found this place while looking for something to eat while in the Bellaire area. The menu pasted outside the door looked interesting and since I was with a friend who's vegetarian, the large number of vegetable/tofu dishes seemed appealing as well.
I ordered something very inexpensive and simple as I always do when first eating at a new restaurant, this time the sesame chicken. No fatty lumps of gristle were to be found in the very generous heaping serving and the rice was perfect. My two friends were also very impressed, my girlfriend was so impressed that she made me write this review. But seriously, this place is worth hunting for. The $4.75 lunch special is unbeatable. 4 thumbs up!

MY REVIEW: Great restaurant and so different from other Chinese places: No egg rolls or wonton soup. This is characteristic of northeast China. I ate with a group of ten people and we ordered nine different dishes and two appitizers. Everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the shredded pork with bamboo shoots and the egg plant dish. This feast cost us $12/person with tip (not including drinks). Beer is very reasonably priced. The restaurant is somewhat hidden away in the shopping center, but well worth searching for.

MY REVIEW: I believe this restaurant is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Chinatown, and perhaps the city. The Sauteed Lamb and Green Onion is heavenly. The Mongolian Beef is incredible. Sauteed seafood with vegetables is fantastic. Shredded chicken with garlic is very good, as well as the pan fried dumplings. My folks go crazy over the garlic cucumber appetizer. The only thing on the menu I have never tried are the soups, but everything I have ever had here is incredibly good. Might be tough to find in the back end of a strip mall, but once you find it and eat there, you will never forget where it is located, and you will be back. Very highly recommended.
