CJ's Restaurant (CLOSED)

MY REVIEW: I can't count the times we've eaten here. After reading the reviews, I noticed the cig smell complaints. It is a bar and grill. We usually just order over the phone and pick it up. I would describe the food as pretty close to home cooking. My husband reccommends the mealbuger with mushrooms and onions. I like their cheeze burgers all the way. Sitting away from the bar is reccomended if the smell bothers you. I am a non-smoker and prefer to get the food to go for the same reasons as some of the others. It is a great place to hang out and meet new people and the people that work there are super nice.

MY REVIEW: When 1st walking into the restaurant, I was assaulted by the smell of cigarette smoke. Note, it was just the smell, the place was not smoky. I only saw a few people smoking, but would be concerned about going when the place was busy.

I got the C.J.'s Meal Burger, which is a 1/2 lb burger with onions & mushrooms, added swiss cheese and fries. The burger was cooked correctly (medium) and was delicious. The fries were quite good too. I scarfed it down :) The diners next to me mentioned the chicken fried steak was really good and the onion rings looked really good.

This is a place that definitely has regulars. I will probably go back and try some of the other meals, but won't be a regular due to the smoke smell.

Food: A - really good
Service: A - attentive even with just 1 person
Decor: C - nothing special
Atmosphere: F due to the smell

MY REVIEW: Best burgers in town. I have lived in several places and found CJ's to be my new favorite place for a burger and a beer. Great staff, great regular customers, just a good place to hang out.

P.S. Try the Southern Star Pale Ale

MY REVIEW: I'm a non smoker. Never knew anyone smoked there. The best hamburgers and fries I've had. I have friends that come from inside the loop for the bugers and fries. They told me about it and I live in the Woodlands. Once you have them you'll crave them.

MY REVIEW: I definately agree that this is not a place for non-smokers. Would not go back for this reason. Eveyone was smoking. My lunch order took forever and my Rueben sandwich was burnt. When I complained the waitrees did not seem to care other then offer to put new bread on it. I don't see how that was going to happen since the meat and cheese was stuck to it. The water taste funny. Had to order a coke. Burgers looked big.

MY REVIEW: If you are a smoker this is the place for you.

The owner/cook/waiter was very friendly and the service was great!! The food was OK.....although I admit it wasn't "gourmet" junk food as advertised. However the place is ALL smoking. The cigarette smoke was overbearing and for that reason alone we won't go back.

MY REVIEW: They have Great Burgers and a broad menu of other items. I'm looking forward to trying the Chicken Fried on the new menu.

The Gourmet Hot Dogs they call Dougie Dogs are like nothing I've found except back east. I guess that's because they get them from there :)

MY REVIEW: I would highly recommed thios place to my friends! The cook was delightful, and everyone seemed very nice. This is the Cheers of the Woodlands. I orderd the Buffalo Chicken and was pleased. They even brand the burger buns with a CJ! No bad comments here.
