MY REVIEW: They are open since Monday after IKE!

DNR still serves the best gyro in Houston even after IKE.

They have free wi-fi internet, which I always need after this horrible hurricane.

MY REVIEW: If you are looking for a place where you can sit outside, eat, read, use your laptop with free wireless, gather with friends, etc....this is the place. My favorites are the DNR (short for doner) wraps with cucumber sauce, and the white bean salad from the salad bar. The hummus is also very good. Everyone is very nice. Did I mention the ice cream? I live in Katy and wish this restaurant were closer to where I live! Try it for yourself!

MY REVIEW: I visit the restaurant often..They have the most wonderful atmosphere. The space is very open lots of tables. Great location for birthday parties or meetings. I go there often to use the free wireless internet access, it is very convenient. I take my labtop with me since they have electric outlet hooked on every table. I love their low-fat greek salad with doner chicken...it's best in town. I also enjoy eating their chicken beyti and I recommend everyone should try. Lots of friendly staff...Smiling faces..

MY REVIEW: A great alternative for fast food. Doner with rice is great. Fast service with reasonable prices.

MY REVIEW: This is one of the best fast food I have experienced. I like their Beyti and more recent addition Iskender. My kids have been addicted to their Chicken wrap menu so much so that I stopped asking them what they want when we go it there. My 5-year old of course is more interested in the ice cream than any of the health options in the menu.

It's been great experience. I can take a bite and feel every ingredient in a nice relaxed atmosphere at a very reasonable price and that's why I keep going back.

MY REVIEW: I like the Turkish doner menu very much. It is extremely delicious in the wrap or as a sandwich. The place is a very confortable and quite spot. It has free wireless internet which is quite attractive for a student like me.

I highly recommend this restaurant for folks in medical center as well as people working in downtown and midtown.

MY REVIEW: Not only did we manage to find a restaurant open on Christmas, it was really good to boot. December 25th is also our wedding anniversary, that's why we try to find restaurants open that evening. This was our first visit and it won't be our last. We are novices when it comes to Greek/Turkish dishes and we told them that. The staff was very gracious to help us find just the right menu items to try. I had their Beyti Plate, which for those of you like me, it's kind of like a long canolli with chopped meat instead of hamburger. My husband had the DNR Plate which is basically a combination of sliced beef and lamb. Both plates had a side of white rice and mine had a generous helping of sour cream to the side. For $7.99/plate, we couldn't beat the price. The restaurant is clean, roomy and brightly colored. Going there on Christmas evening, there were very few customers, so it was quiet and made the evening that much more enjoyable.

MY REVIEW: Pros:
1. Nice staff. Smiling faces.
2. Clean and spacy. You don't smell next table's order.
3. Kids can play at the kids corner and run along the spacious grounds without hitting anyone.
4. Wireless and coffee. The two essentials.

Cons:
1. Limited menu.
2. No private rooms for groups.
3. Slogans need reviewing but I'm fine, I eat the food not the paper underneath.

Overall, I'm very satisfied. I live on a tight budget and this is way better than I can expect from what I'm paying. You might have couple hundred bucks for eating out every night, so don't go there. And put your lame reviews elsewhere.

I go with Menu 1 or 2 and add soup when it's that marvelous chicken, mushroom whatever-its-name they serve. Ice cream or rice pudding, either way tops up your delight.

MY REVIEW: I went to this place for lunch as it was new in the neighborhood and I thought I would give it a try. Like one of the last reviewers, I found the whole experience a little weird with all these strange marketing slogans everywhere. Maybe it got lost in the translation but I do not recall any place like this when I lived in Europe. It would have redeemed itself if the food had been good but it was really awful and bland. Like their slogan says, “Try it, that’s it!” Well, I tried it and that’s it, I am never going back.

MY REVIEW: I've been to Turkey a few times so I am assuming that DNR stands for Doner which is the original name for gyro. I think they called it european fast food to make it more appealing and all over europe turkish wraps and sandwiches are considered as the fast food. For the ones who dont know Turkey is partly in Asia and Europe.

The doner is the best I had in Houston. It is prepared deliciously and the wraps are made exactly as they make in Turkey with parsley, onions and tomatoes. If you are looking for a big fat wrap filled with rice and beans, this is not your place. The salad bar is olive oil rich vegetables and salads. Very Turkish. Everytime i have been there, the staff went out of their way get my order the way i want it. Over all great experience, I hope they do well. I just wished they were open 24/7 like B*ereket in New York...

MY REVIEW: This place may take the cake for lamest concept ever. I mean ever.

DNR styles itself 'European Fast Food', whatever that means, and is a chain from Turkey apparently (Turkey as part of Europe would engender debate from many.) Politics and history aside, the food is the real crime here. So bland and dry were the sandwiches and wraps that I requested some hot sauce; the guy gave me some ketchup packets and suggested I sprinkle sumac on it. Nice.

I knew it was Turkish and came expecting oven baked flatbread to hold the meats, scoop up a dip, maybe. Nah. No way. The wrap was made with a tortilla so perfectly flat and flawless in texture, that I could see them pouring forth from the factory somewhere. So I ordered a sandwich. Good god! Imitation french roll is fine, but then into the microwave it went, emerging moments later like shoe leather. The salad bar held items from yesteryear like 3 bean salad, and brocolli that had turned an army green from oversteaming. Stuffed potatoes were on the menu, but I passed. Wow!

All the while, a strange large cartoon head was everywhere, walls, windows, placemats, a spooky cross between D*airy Queen and J*ack-in-the-Box, asking: DNR? What's it? Taste it! That's it!

There was a kids area, wi-fi, a patio, maybe they added a jacuzzi, who knows. I would recommend going once; truly it's the twilight zone.

MY REVIEW: Deciding to try something different, I ventured into DNR which now occupies the space where B*utera's used to be (in the Chelsea Market). It's an attractive little eatery in the Museum District with good food and good prices. Too bad it also doesn't include good service.

The menu consists primarily of sandwiches and wraps, and you can order combination meals that include a drink and fries (mine cost a little over $7.00). I ordered a chicken sandwich meal (sandwich, fries and drink) and went to a booth to wait on the order.

At the 15-minute mark I got concerned. I went to the counter and the counter server assured me with a blank smile that he would bring the order out to me.

At 25 minutes, I again approached the counter, asking about my order. I watched while another patron who had arrived after me was picking up his order. How hard could it be to cook some chicken, put it on a bun with some lettuce and tomato, fry some fries, and give it to the customer?

At the 30-minute mark, I went to the counter again and asked to speak to a manager. The counter server told me he WAS the manager. I told him if I didn't have my order within a minute I would cancel it (I paid with MasterCard and could have taken up a dispute with them). Amazingly, my order was given to me at the counter, without much of an apology.

DNR is run by a non-American company (they say in their name that they're "European Fast Food" but I saw no Europeans behind the counter). This is their first Houston location. If they're hoping to do better than S*egafredo, the Italian espresso shop on West Gray that went under two years after opening, they're going to have to do MUCH better on getting orders right and getting them to customers promptly. As it stands, I won't be going back to DNR for a while. Maybe I'll revisit them if I see a different manager or a banner outside reading "Under New Management".

I don't know what "DNR" stands for, but it certainly doesn't stand for good service!

MY REVIEW: I took my friend to DNR who was visiting for business from out of town. We felt very welcome. We got soup, meat on rice, fries, vegetable buffett. My friend and I indulged in this delicious feast so quickly that only we could only make eye contact for a while. The best part of it was a that my friend thanked me very much for the choice and even insisted on picking up the tab. Great food, great service at a good price. My only regret is that I was so full at the end that I had to let go the ice cream.

MY REVIEW: My friend and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon because DNR had a nice big porch and internet. The service was amazing. The staff went out of their way to help us - they helped us find plugs for our laptops, they offered me free tea, and ice cream and when we were accidentally served a sandwich instead of a wrap, the waitress immediately brought us the correct order without us having to ask. The fries are delicious - make sure you order a side of these. This was the best "fast food" experience I'd ever had.

MY REVIEW: you should come here to see a real delicious patoto with a Turkish Gyro in it.

What is good about the ordinary patoto with cheddar in it that you find in regular restaurants? nothing. But here take my word have the baked patato and have the lentil soup

MY REVIEW: Great location. I ordered the DNR sandwich, wonderful. My collegue ordered the potatoe. She wasn't happy with their preparation method so I went to order her a DNR sandwich. The cashier knew she wasn't happpy with the potatoe and provided a sandwich as a replacement.

MY REVIEW: I went to DNR with some friends last weekend, even though I didn’t know what to think when they told me that it was “European fast food”. I was pleasantly surprised. DNR is a Turkish way of preparing meat. It seems to be prepared like chawarma, and it tastes great. They put the meat in sandwiches, big potatoes, etc. They had a good salad bar, and their soup was great. Some of the girls ordered ice cream, and they had like 7 flavors (the girls really liked the bubblegum one).

Service was great. I’ve been going to school in Houston for 8 months and DNR has the nicest staff I’ve seen so far. They have only been open for a few weeks, so they were happy to see us. Since it’s a new restaurant, everything is very clean and sharp.

The only cons that I saw were that it was a hard to find a parking spot, and that it may be tricky to find the restaurant because there’s some road construction if front of it.

Overall I really liked the place, and it’s reasonably priced. I’m definitely coming back.
