MY REVIEW: My friend and I highly suggest a great little restaurant in Industry, Texas, which is located 16 miles southwest of Brenham. The atmosphere is relaxed with its stained glass windows and comfortable country charm.
Chef Jason Williams prepares a wide variety of high quality dishes with generous portions. He prepares seafood, steaks, poultry (pheasant, chicken), fetaccini w/grilled chicken, and crawfish bisque, just to name a few. They have incredible desserts like chocolate cream broulette, and bread pudding,.
We tried the grilled talapia with creamy parmesan sauce, sweet potato fries, mini-baguette with sweet cream butter spread and spring salad. It was excellent.
The Feedbarn also has a great country store with gourmet coffees, jellies, jams and preserves.
We highly suggest trying this little out-of-the-way restaurant. It’s wonderful and a pleasant change from the ordinary.

MY REVIEW: Wow! Impressive place. I'm a chef and my wife hates going out to eat with me because I tend to be pretty critical. Who would have figured that a place in Industry, Texas would win me over?
We went for Sunday lunch which is a limited but diverse menu. The quality and freshness of the food were superb. I had the chicken fried steak which was cooked perfectly along with an excellent gravy. A touch more salt would have made it unbeatable, but my family and friends think I'm addicted to salt. My wife had tortilla soup and a sandwich, both of which boasted the freshest of ingredients.
The highlight, though, is certainly the sweet potato fries! These aren't some Sysco out-of-the-freezer and into the fryer crap. The chef came up with his own corn starch slurry and mandoline's the potatoes by hand. All of which he's happy to share with you as he walks from table to table to ensure his customer's satisfaction.
Our service was comprehensive and never left us needing anything. There were some minor service etiquette errors, but I'd be disappointed if I drove to Industry to get an aloof waiter who does and says the "right" things.
I should finally add that the trip to Industry might not be enticing for a twice a week meal for downtown Houston dwellers. On the other hand, combining great food, the beautiful drive there (especially in Spring) and the unbelievably low priced and well rounded wine list might change your mind!
