MY REVIEW: We came with friends who were familiar with the place. It's nestled in Welcome Plaza in one of the Diho squares. You order from the counter and tea, miso soup, and sweet bean dessert is free. I paid $33 for a large Dragon roll, chicken stir-fry udon, Chirashi (sushi over rice), salad with Thousand Island dressing, and a pretty bland seaweed & octopus salad. Order comes out quick and they accept cash only.

We tried our friends' agadashi tofu -- 4 small pieces, which wasn't bad. Atmosphere is casual, and halfway through our meal, they ran out of tea and sweet bean dessert. Our company made the food taste better. My fiancee thinks their sashimi is smaller than at other places. Good place for cheap sushi...just make sure you're with good company!!!

MY REVIEW: Sushi isn't overpriced like all the other Japanese restaurants. Love it! Food is yummy too. And like everyone else said... staff is really friendly! Awesome place!

MY REVIEW: I last visited this place a few years ago, before they changed their official store signs. I have since moved for college, and after trying out a bunch of sushi joints in my new city, I still faithfully visit Hokkaido whenever I go back to Houston.

It's located inside a corner of the plaza, kind of easy to miss if you're not familiar with the area. The inside isn't fancy, but it is certainly not dingy by any means. The staff is ridiculously nice, and the food quality is great. I've ordered sushi and sashimi from there countless times and have never been disappointed. And best yet? It's inexpensive as far as sushi goes! It's one of the cheapest sushi places I've visited and still manages to serve quality fish. Now that's a reason to keep coming back.

MY REVIEW: This place has been my boyfriend and I's favorite place to eat Japanese food for the longest time. Their prices are fabulous, and their food is just as good as any og those higher priced sushi places. My boyfriend loves the salmon teryaki (though we have noticed that the salmon's gotten smaller), and I love to get a variety of sushi and rolls. I definitely recommend this place for anyone that's looking for superb sushi for a low price, and not just the atmosphere of the other higher priced places.

MY REVIEW: Cute little cozy spot! This is a great find that I almost don't want to tell about :), the food was delish and finally(!) prices I don't feel guilty about. I spent six bucks and was full, the 2 ladies must of said thank you like six times, so sweet. And it's clean too, which I'm picky about. Any type of Asian food you like can be found top knotch on Bellaire for cheap, if only you look. I'm so happy and will be back soon :)

MY REVIEW: Great food for a reasonable price. I can't say enough about the $2.95 California roll (6 pieces and inside out). There is complimentary hot tea, miso soup, and red bean soup. This restaurant is a great asset for those who like Japanese food. BTW: Friendly staff

MY REVIEW: My wife and I found this place a couple years ago and have been there fairly regularly since. We like going here when we are looking for a nice japanese meal without all the fancy trappings and expense that goes along with those trappings.

Hokkaido is more like a family style place. For example, after you order at the counter, you pick a table and they bring the food to you. They have self serve Miso and tea. I usually get the daily special bento box, because it is all so good. My wife usually gets a variety of sushi. The food is good for a good price.
