MY REVIEW: This restaurant is near where I work so we go there regularly for special occasions. In addition, I choose to go there after hours with my husband and that says something. The food is wonderful and inventive; the staff is attentive and the atmosphere is lovely. I recommend Arturo's to everyone I like. I have never had anything here that I did not enjoy.

MY REVIEW: What a great place! The food and service is A+++, our waiter Diego was charming and humorous, but also very helpful and offered suggestions at every point through the dining experience. The ambience and feel and of this place is really nice too, although we visited right after they opened so there was literally not one other couple in there for about an hour or so. We didn't mind though, we had Arturo's all to ourselves! :)
Another note, it was our 6th year anniversary so we figured we would get a bottle of wine and celebrate the right way, even though we have little to no knowledge of wines that aren't less than $10 at a liquor store. Diego came to our rescue and pointed out a mild red wine that was light and tasteful and went great with both of our meals. Our check at the end of the night was $16x.xx, not terribly shabby for a superb full course meal in a great environment with non-stop service. There's nothing better than a waiter with E.S.P. who knows when the right times are to stop at your table or just pass by. That price reflects getting an appetizer, 2 dinners, a desert, a bottle of wine, and Diego's tip.
Recommendation? After your dinner get the Tiramisou, it's the best!
Not somewhere to over-indulge yourself with (unless you can afford it), but for special occasions, you have to go at least once! Men - impress your ladies by surprising them with a trip here instead of that other place you go to every other week, they'll appreciate it!

MY REVIEW: I've dined in twice and gotten take out four times in the past three months. Obviously I like it a lot! I love the appetizers, especially the tuna tartare and calamari. The ravioli is excellent but unless you like a very rich meal, I would recommend asking them to go light on the sauce.
Arturo's visit to our table was quite welcome. You can tell he enjoys visiting with his patrons. I mentioned all the positive reviews here and he sent us a complimentary tablespoon of creme brulee for each of us.
I look forward to many more visits.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I went to Arturo's for a late Valentine's dinner on a Saturday night and were overall very pleased with the service, ambiance, and food quality. We ordered the ravioli Sonia for the appetizer and after taking one bite, my wife starting wishing she had ordered that as the entree. A great balance of flavors and textures plus the mushroom stuffing isn't prominent enough to deter a mushroom-phobe. The Mela salad was very tasty, and the veal scaloppini was outstanding. The only let-down was the pesto chicken pasta. The dish wasn't bad, just too much of the same texture and flavor throughout. The waitstaff was pleasant and attentive. Overall, a good choice for a nice romantic dinner. We're looking forward to going back and exploring more of the menu.

MY REVIEW: What a find and what a lovely restaurant. Arturos is in Uptown Park and there is ample parking. We have been three times in two weeks and highly reccomend it. Hostess, waiters, bartenders -all friendly and on it. Saturday night they have a palea (sp?) special, a big bowl of saffron rice with all types of seafood in it that was better than I had in Europe. The mussels are excellent and fresh -most places serve frozzen and the taste difference is big. Seafood is done to perfection. A pasta with garlic and olive oil was full of big flavor. The owners were there and came by to see that all was well and it was. A big thumbs up to Arturos.

MY REVIEW: I got very poor service at my long time favorite Italian cafe so decided to try Arturo's with some friends. End of story. Arturo's is better in all ways than the better known place ever was. We had drinks at the bar and it is quite a social scene. Moved to the table and had several dishes among us and we enjoyed them all -ravioli (wow), snapper with crab claws (wow again), veal tbone, margarita pasta; all good. Only downside was canoli dessert, which wasn't to my liking. Go for the apple tart with ice cream instead. The waiter was helpful in selecting wines. One of the owners came by to visit and it turned out that I had been to some of his earlier restaurants in Montrose, back when that was the cafe capital of Houston. The interior is well done and comfortable. I will return and highly recommend.

MY REVIEW: What a wonderful place to celebrate my birthday!!! Everyone from the hostess all the way through to the chef provided excellent service: personal, efficient, and caring. David was our waiter and was most attentive; service was consistent and well-timed. Dinner began with mouth watering Tuna Tartar (the best I've ever had); entrees included Veal Scaloppini and Milanese Chicken, both of which were tender, delicious and served at correct temperature. Creme Brulee was fantastic with appealing presentation, and it had been freshly flamed with a torch. Best Long Island Tea I've ever had, and the coffee was superb -- a special blend made for Chef Arturo!!!! Forget S*tarbucks and other specialty coffees!!! This is the place!!!!
The owner and chef both visited our table which added that special touch....

MY REVIEW: One of my new favorite Italian restaurants in Houston! The restaurant is beautiful and classy, and is great for dates or birthday dinners. Started off with calamari and tuna tar tar, which was very good. The yellow bell pepper soup was excellent, and the Frutti Di Mare dish was outstanding. This is great for those who can appreciate Italian food that isn't drowned in salt or sugar (like at the many Americanized Italian restaurants you find in Houston), but rather with a few key ingredients and a more refined taste. I will definitely be coming back to Arturo's!

MY REVIEW: Started badly because they have a dress code and we were pretty casual. They were very nice about it and we sat on the patio -good choice anyway. Will dress for success next time. The waiter recommended ravioli and it was richly tasty. The osso buco special was tender and perfect. House salads were good and the creme brulee was great. The waiter turned us onto a really good Italian Amorone wine and it was also good. Valet parking at the door, but we like to park our own and there is plenty of room for that. The inside looked nice, but we only know about the patio and it was perfect on a cool night. Not sure if the dress code still works in Houston, but to each his own. Will return for an inside vist soon. Friends suggested Arturos and it does have a lot of promise.

MY REVIEW: We had a most enjoyable time at Arturo's. We arrived early and it was busy but the very nice hostess got us a table. Wonderful attitude. The waiter was Pierre and we knew him from another restaurant. Good service and wine suggestions. The halibut special was as good as fish gets and the clam pasta was equally good. Started with an osso buco soup that was the best soup I've ever had. Yep. Went to the bar afterwards for a martini to top it off. Mei, asian, was nice to us. On home then, but will be back.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I just returned from Arturo's and had the best time. All the smokers are outside now and that helps. We shared the tuna tartare, baked eggplant, fish special (wow) and margarita pasta. All were excellent and the Barolo wine was perfect. It was a busy night, but one of the owners, Bill Saddler, came by to make sure all was well, and it was. Top notch waiters, great food, beautiful people and a fantastic music background. Our favorite Italian in Houston.

MY REVIEW: Was greatly looking forward to dining at Arturo's. My friends and I leave for Italy in two weeks and wanted a Tuscan experience as we were planning the last of our travel details. We were so disappointed with the food - the house salad was good but that was where it ended. One of my friends had dental surgery the previous day and so ordered a "soft" risotto - it had absolutely no flavor and was quite expensive for a glutunous mess. Another ordered the mussels - they were not remotely succulent, the mussels were tiny tiny, and numerous shells had no mussel residing therein! The margarita pizza was okay but nothing to write home about. The La Crema Chardonnay we ordered was over-priced and we were not happy with the service. The young waiter was pleasant but not well trained. We had to ask for water, and then bread, neither of which were offered to us. Sad to say, we will not be returning in the forseeable future.

MY REVIEW: i was pleasantly surprised by arturo's. too many times i've gone to some of the "nicer" restaurants in town only to be disappointed. but, the food at arturo's was very good. the baked eggplant is excellent. sofia's ravioli is also very good, but rich. i had the tenderloin salad. the beef was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the salad was very good overall. i would definitely go back.

MY REVIEW: We are very happy with Arturo's. Service is a strong point, food and wine. My favorite dishes are pasta with clams and the terrific seafood stew. Hubby likes the veal t-bone and the ravioli. Everything has clear and defined flavors. The interior is lovely and you can believe you are in Italy. I forgot the tuna tartare app, very good. One of the owners visited with us and even brought the chef out for a talk even though they were full (chef came out at the end of the evening.). Great looking bar, but that scene is not for us. Patio if you dine alfresco. We both highly reccomend Arturo's.

MY REVIEW: Friends recommended Arturos and we are glad they did. We've been twice for dinner and once for lunch. We really enjoy the ravioli appetizer and the beef salad. Our favorite entrees are the angel hair pasta with clams and the veal saltimboca. We think these dishes are better than anything we had in Rome. We're still working our way through the menu so don't know if the rest is as good. The decor is beautiful and romantic, especially at night. Staff is friendly and quite knowledgable, both food and wine. We're just returning the favor by letting people know about what we think is a first class restaurant.

MY REVIEW: The wine list had no Reisling by the bottle, only by the glass, which was disappointing. The service was prompt, but not especially friendly. The appetizer we had was fried shrimp and artichoke, and it was very tasty. The main course, chicken pesto, had no flavor except for a wierd, stong, rosemary flavor, and was finally edible after we added lots of salt and pepper. The restaurant did not compare favoribly to other Italian restaurants in the area.

MY REVIEW: Read some good things about this place so we went there on my bday. Food was Just OK - tasty but nothing really special. Parking was a pain - we had to valet amd I *hate* valet parking when the place is in a strip mall and has a huge parking lot right in front of it (pet peeve). Service was very good - efficient and friendly but not overwhelming. Wine prices were not outrageous. All in all, a nice place, but not special enough food-wise for a return visit.

MY REVIEW: If there was a contest to determine the absolutely best waiter in Houston, Shannon at Arturo's would win hands down in my opinion. I was completely blown away by his friendliness and professionalism. It is rare that a waiter so contributes to the over-all dining experience. All the little touches, checking that everything was fine, re-folding the napkin when one leaves the table, a courtesy sample of the creme brulee, packaging the food to go perfectly (and throwing in some extra bread), etc. etc. etc. Wow!
Next, the food. Which I really enjoyed. I was solo, early evening, waiting for traffic to die down. I ordered the house salad with canneloni beans and pancetta, prosciutto with shaved parmigiano-reggiano cheese, the soup of the day, an appetizer portion of the ravioli with lump crab meat and the eggplant parmigiano. All were very flavorful.
My wife, who got to taste the take home thought that the eggplant was very salty. I didn't, but that could be because I had been de-sensitized by the prosciutti.
At any rate, I would give this restaurant a big thumbs-up for now.

MY REVIEW: My date has some food allergies and Arturo was so nice to accomodate. He came out to greet us and made the adjustments. I was so impressed that they would take the time to help out. The Yellow Pepper soup and Tuna tartar were delicious. The tuna was different than eating at a sushi restaurant because of the lack of sesame oil or soy sauce but was very fresh and light. Service was excellent and everything was very good; I definitely plan on dining here again.

MY REVIEW: Arturo's is an excellent restaurant; the food, atmosphere, and decor are all top drawer. To a person, the staff is pleasant, polite, and accommodating - not something that you necessarily see all of the time, even in the better restaurants. Arturo and Bill definitely know how to create a great dining experience! I will be back!

MY REVIEW: Wow... that is how I must start this review. My boyfriend and I celebrated our 2yr.anniversary here. We had a wonderful time. I had the Mediterranean chicken plate and my boyfriend had the filet. Everything was delicious! What a memorable dinner. They have a excellent wine selection. If you will be enjoying dinner here-it is a sin not to indulge yourself in a bottle of wine. We had the best service from an outstanding waiter. (Look for Dereck)
The ambiance is very nice. There is an elaborate bar that is appealing to all ages. If you want a quiet dinner go early. We had reservations at 5:30p. Our server told us it gets extremely crowded on Thursday and Saturday nights.
From beginning to end we had a wonderful experience. My boyfriend made a great choice :)
If your reading this Arturo- You have a great restuarant. We will definitely return and spread the word.

MY REVIEW: Once again this restaurant proved to be FANTASTIC! We arrived too early for our reservation, so we sat at the bar. I tried their Mojito, more sugar than mint (even thought 1/2 my glass was full of mint leaves) the bartender did not crush it up before serving it which is a must for a mojito. Husband had a glass of wine. As we sat for 30 minutes surveying the land, the bar was not packed, but there was a croud of what my friend calls "barely deads" arriving. I am only to assume with all of the high priced high rises around, that is who frequents...even my husband made a comment half way through dinner, that thought it was packed, we were the youngest in the room (besides one table with a family and 2 teenagers).
Not that my observation should stop anyone from trying this place, but just a tid bit for those who have not been. But that is only part of the importance of a good restaurant (ambience I am refering to here)the food AGAIN proved to be just wonderful! My husband ordered the veal with lump crab and artichokes. I tried the seafood soup ( the name of it escapes me now!!)Which had a generous helping of calamari, shrimp, clams, mussels, and red snapper. The flavor was devine and the seafood very very fresh!
As it was a celebration, we had an order of Tiramisu...so light and so delicious it melted in our mouths!
Once again I highly recommend the food here, it is such a treat to have this restaurant so close to work. I only wish I could eat here more often!

MY REVIEW: I am a big fan of B*eso on Westhiemer in the Montrose area so when I heard they had opened a new place I had to try it out. I was a little surprised because B*eso is Latin & Mediteranean & Arturos is pure Italian. Not to worry -the food is just as good. The ravioli and baked eggplant are the best I have ever had -and I'm from Little Italy in NY. I had the Italian sausage pasta and it was also very good. My wife had a seafood dish that she enjoyed. This menu is worth going back for and I will.
The restaurant itself is just beautiful. A big stone wall divides the bar area from the dining and there is a beautiful mural above the bar. Staff was friendly and attentive. The lighting is soft but the tables are well lit -I could actually read my menu, a rarity these days. My wife loved the music -a lot of Sinatra and Dean Martin and a lot of stuff I'd never heard but fit in with the rat pack boys. Great people watching with half the Houston upper crust in attendence along with some pro atheletes. I don't know if the younger set would enjoy, seems to be tageted to us baby bomers. To be fair and balanced I usually find something negetive, but not this time. This place has winner written all over it.
