MY REVIEW: We've been here for brunch, but never for dinner, and when they sent us a $20 gift card for our anniversary, we decided to try out their dinner service. We ended up having a great time, and the food was very good. We had an appetizer of tempura asparagus topped with crab meat that was served in a tasty cream sauce. We really enjoyed it. We both had salads - my husband had the Caesar, and I had the house spring mix topped with fresh mangoes and a really nice vinaigrette. The house salad was very fresh and flavorful. For dinner, my husband had the lamb chops, while I had the peppercorn filet accompanied with a lobster tail. Loved the lobster tail; the filet was fine, but I didn't get much peppercorn flavor from it, and it was covered with a sauce that was a little heavier than what I was expecting. It was described as a port wine sauce, but the sauce I received was almost like a gravy. Next time I would ask for the sauce on the side. Everything else was great. I loved that they served veggies and mashed potatoes along with it. We were too full for dessert, but we ordered a chocolate mousse to go, and it was very good.
The service was very friendly; we had a really friendly nice server who suggested a great wine for me. They frequently came by to check on us, and the owner/manager also came by to see how the food was. They serve complimentary bread as well which is always a plus. Water glasses were always filled, and the atmosphere was nice; it's a small, cozy little place. We enjoyed it and will definitely go back again, especially since it's in our neighborhood.

MY REVIEW: This was our first visit and what a thoroughly delightful evening it was. The service was impecable, the food was outstanding and to top things off, the entertainment was wonderful. Joe was attentive and made us feel we were the only ones there. The owner visited our table to make sure our first experience was a good one. This restaurant is such a gem on the west side of town. Yes, it's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for!! Can't wait to visit again. Thank you, Vahid.

MY REVIEW: Absolutely the best! It is definitely our favorite restaurant...we go there at least 1-2 per month, even though it is 20+ miles from our home...the service is always outstanding, the waitstaff is very professional and friendly...we have never had a bad meal there and we have been working our way through the menu...portions are extremely generous and most of the time we take home quite a bit...my favorite is the lamb shank with ceasar salad with anchovies (yes!)and the humus with pine nuts for an appetizer. Beware that portions are very big and consider ordering the half order...desserts are to die for and the coffee is always good...Inside is very nice and on many nights there is a piano player or jazz music in the bar area...very nice atmosphere...dinners range from "youngsters" in their mid twenties to super seniors in their eighties...dress code is nice casual...you can come in clean jeans or your evening attire and you will not feel out of place...for the smokers and al fresco people there is a very nice patio which overlooks are park with a duck/swan pond and a tree with spanish moss (great for the tourists)...we have taken many friends and business associates there for dinner and have been told that they have the best lamb in the US...their menu features a great variety of dishes, including excellent seafood and everybody in your party will find something that's "just perfect" for them...so if you are looking for a great place to dine, Cafe Benedicte will become your new favorite...

MY REVIEW: I was really looking forward to the steak tartar until it arrived. It is not your traditional dish. They have made more of a raw beef spicy ketchup for the fried onion. that was disappointing, but nothing else was. We both had a cup of the lobster bisque which was very filled generously with lobster chunks, my daughter had the ham and cheese crepes, which she said were tasty, and the portion was huge, 2 burritto sized crepes, that were served with nicely prepared little fried potatoe bites. I had the 1/2 order of lamb chops, which came with 3 chops, a lovely Gr. salad, the little potatoes and asparagus. I thought the waiter had misunderstood, but that's a half order. It even had mint jelly on the side and were cooked to order. We ended the meal by sharing a Tiramisu Iced Latte. The service was better than average, and the view from out table by the window was lovely.
It's a bit far out, but the weather was dry yesterday and the drive was scenic.
We'll be back, BTW all the meals we saw being served looked tempting, and the decor is light and airy.

MY REVIEW: This is absolutly one of the best I have been to. The ambiance was great, the service was excellent, and the food was to die for. We bought a certificat through MyTableEntree and were very pleased to be able to find this restaurant.
The Beef Tartare is served in a fried onion and was wonderfully seasoned. My husband had never had that and it has been 30 years scince I have eaten Steak Tartare, but this was better than I expected. We had sliders which was served with 3 different fillings. One was a burger with queso, 1 was chicken salad, and the 3rd had seafood salad. The bread was fresh and they were all 3 delicious. You have a choice of fruit, salad, soup, or homemade fries. My husband got the fries and they were hand cut and wonderful and I chose a persian salad which was great as well. This restaurant is a must go to!

MY REVIEW: A client took me and her daughter to lunch here. Several of the residents where she lives highly recommended it. I had the penne pasta and vegetable teriyaki. It was scrumptious. I loved the teriyaki sauce. It came with broccoli, cauliflour, carrots and thin string beans. It also came with a side order (which I did not note) of African Taboule. The taboule had the most delightful lemon flavor. The portion sizes were great and I ended up taking half the penne dish and most of the taboule home as it was far more than I could eat. The service was a bit on the sluggish side (fortunately we were not in a hurry), but the people were very nice. We were seated by the back window overlooking the green open area, complete with ducks wandering about. Although we were 3 people seated at a table for 5, we decided not to ask to be moved as the view was so nice. I live inside the loop, but will definitely visit this restaurant again when I am in the area. I might even make a special trip to bring my husband with me to hear the jazz on a Friday night!

MY REVIEW: There is only one word to describe the atmosphere, food quality, service and staff quality, menu choices, quantity and innovativeness of entrees: fabulous! Wonderful jazz music, enthusiastic and attentive staff from owner and manager down to waitstaff, helpful advice, wide range of foods from authentic Greek and Italian to prime rib and lobster, from sandwiches to sophisticated fare and the ability to have half orders on many entrees. Prices are very reasonable and quantity of food is perfect. A great weeknight stop or weekend favorite. Dress went from nice jeans to dressy casual but a very comfortable and inviting ambience. We plan to make this a weekly haunt.

MY REVIEW: I'm sorry but I must disagree with some of the comments on here. This Cafe is such a delightful place as well as the people who run it. It is immaculate! We have been patrons of Cafe Benedicte since we first moved here in 2005. They work very hard to please the customer. My husband has had a few benefits there and we keep going back because all of his clients love the place. That includes wine , food, music and let's not forget those delicious Irish coffees!
They do strive to please the customer in every way including ambiance. If you don't like something tell them and they will improve it that is the only way they will know you are dissatisfied. By all means they welcome your critique. I must pay strict attention to the manager because he makes it all worth while.

MY REVIEW: We have eaten dinner there many times but tried the Sunday brunch....we will be a regular. I had the crepes and they were some of the best I have ever had. Others in the party had the eggs Benedict and they were perfect. There are enough other interesting items on the menu I am sure to try the next time and the next time and the.... The prices are more than reasonable and makes this one of the best values for a Sunday brunch in the city. Service could have been a touch better but was easily over looked by the quality of the food and the prices

MY REVIEW: This was my second time visiting CB, and the food was excellent. The menu has many choices, and I loved the choice of having a 1/2 portion on many of the entrees. My dining partner and I both had the trio selection, which gives you the option of choose one salad, one entree and one side. We each chose a totally different combination, and all items were very good. A word of warning, for those who like their salad out first, this option does come all at once. However, it was the perfect portion and an even better price.
I especially liked the hummus, however the other two items I chose (lamb shank and greek salad) were good choices. The lamb was falling off the bone, and had a very good taste. I also like having wine flights available or in smaller portions. There are times it would be nice to have a 1/2 glass, and that option just isn't available at most restaurants.
As mentioned by other posters, the service was excellent. Our server was was attentive without being intrusive and had a very pleasant attitude.
All in all, it was a great dinner and we will definitely be back.

MY REVIEW: Recently we had the pleasure of brunch outside at Cafe Benedicte and the double-pleasure of seeing their new, expanded menu. Many great items have been added to Benedicte's already delicious food, and the menu gives you many ordering options.
There is a mix and match section where you can choose from three different categories to create your own meal: an expanded salad and sandwich section; many, many new entrees -- most available in either a full or half order, which is such a nice option!
Of course, the staff and service at Cafe Benedicte have always been first-rate and that has only improved with their enthusiasm over the new offerings.

MY REVIEW: The ambiance is wonderful.. We ate on the deck and had Blue Cheese soup with a smoked duck salad. The Food was outstanding.. The bread was crusty with a soft center..coffee was not TOO strong and the Service was above average. We loved the fact that almost everything on the menu comes in half orders! This is a must try place! We will return!

MY REVIEW: Went for a late lunch. Cauliflower blue cheese soup was nice, but I expected a bit more blue cheese flavor. The ATM sandwich was wonderful, although very messy to eat. Adrea was my server and was great. I cannot wait to go back and try more!

MY REVIEW: Love the wines, great selections available here. Also really love the nice friendly people that assist with choices. Have eaten here a few times, and enjoyed the food, but mostly stop in late for a glass of vino or two. I always feel at home here.
