MY REVIEW: My fiance and I visited this restaurant after reading good reviews via b4 u eat...

we arrived at 8pm, the restaurant was empty and incredibly hot. he ordered teh chicken katsu curry, I ordered the pork chop and spam musubi.

the spam musubi was ok. they did not fry the spam up, just slapped it between some sushi rice and nori. my pork chop was dry and tough, the macaroni salad was warm. I wasn't too pleased. My fiance's dish was ok, the katsu was crispy, but you could tell the chicken was not so fresh.

they did take a while to prep our food, but we are willing to wait if it was made fresh.. in this case, long wait and not so fresh..

MY REVIEW: I've visited this place 3xs for dinner and absolutely love it! I was first introduced when I went with a group of friends who highly recommended this restaurant(all from Guam, Hawaii, and the Philippines) Now, I make the 27 mile drive north to Humble, just to get a taste of this place. Apart from great tasting, each plate has an abundance of food; I always have enough left over for lunch the next day. The sushi is really good too, nice presentation, and excellent price. Probably the least expensive in town. I highly recommend both the Futomaki Roll and the Lucky Roll. I'll make sure to order a sushi party tray for my next social gathering!

The facility is clean, casual, and very inviting. Worth trying at least once (you'll fall in love every time)

MY REVIEW: Bob, Jamie, Jeffrey, and the rest of the staff at Aloha Hawaiian BBQ run the coolest and best Hawaiian food restaurant in all of Houston. And I think there are about five total all over Houston. This place is so good they even have a dedicated sushi bar at which Jeffrey makes the tastiest rolls. I had the "Aloha Roll" twice and it's great. They have live Hawaiian music with Polynesian-style dancing once a month and the place gets packed. Last night, The Grass Skirts combo performed there followed by Manutahi Texas dance troupe. It always reminds us of Hawai'i every time we go.

MY REVIEW: If I lived closer, I would eat here all the time. The food is tasty and fresh--we've tried several items including the katsu chicken, the teriyaki beef, the chicken BBQ noodle bowl, sushi, to name a few, and have liked them all. Even my finicky three year old has been delighted with everything she's tried. Our service has been great--even though this is the type of restaurant where you order from the counter, and table service is minimal, the staff has made a point of anticipating and meeting our needs. Each time we've eaten there, we've been made to feel more like "everybody knows my name..." than "we've visited 2-3 times." Incidentally, though I visit b4-u-eat often, this is the first time I've posted a review, and I did it because I feel so strongly about the quality of our food and overall dining experience that I want to make sure other people are aware of this gem!

MY REVIEW: We lived in Hawaii and Japan for a few years and I have to say the katsu from this restaurant is better than any I've tasted. Those of us from the islands know there's very few good authentic cultural restaurants in this region, but this restaurant is REALLY REALLY GOOD.

MY REVIEW: By the appearance of the storefront you'd never think this place had delicious Hawaiian food.

We've only gone for lunch during the weekdays. Service is a bit slow, but it's worth the wait. They have lunch specials and portions are generous. I normally get the Teriyaki Bowl. Their sushi isn't too bad either. My husband also ordered a Spam Musubi. In the photos they look like they'd be sushi size, but they're big! Very good!

I highly recommend this place for some Hawaiian food. It definitely satisfied our craving after coming back from Hawaii. I can't wait to have a Luau and have them cater.

We'll definitely be back.

MY REVIEW: Aloha BBQ catered my birthday Luau, the food was delicious! I had never dined there before, I relied strictly on reviews on B4-u-eat.com and lucked out. My Luau menu consisted of: Hawaiian Eggrolls, Volcano Fried Rice, Hawaiian BBQ Chicken, and the infamous Roasted Pig. I received nothing but great feedback on the food. The most compliments were on the chicken. The pig was very tasty, very tender, and the crust was delicious. Make sure if you order the pig that you have a large enough, nice platter to display it. The only downfall was that the pig was given to me in a box and I didn't have anything nice to display it on. We placed layers of foil over the box to make it presentable. It was a bit of a hassle because the pig was so large (25 lbs). The staff at Aloha BBQ was extremely friendly and helpful. They even gave me tips on how to cut the pig before serving. If I ever have another Luau, I will definitely have them cater it again.

MY REVIEW: This was the first time we have eaten here. and we loved it. Had seen the restuarant for a while, I drive by everyday going to work and coming home, but had never tried it. Wanted something different, and found it. The food is great, we had chicken katsu, and the owners are very nice. Food made fresh so if you are in a hurry, call ahead. Going back today to pick-up dinner!

MY REVIEW: I absolutely LOVE the terryaki bowl, the chicken katsu is very good, and the sushi is as well. My favorite is the "lucky roll." The rice is nice and fluffy and the vegetarbles are good and not often overcooked. My order tab normally comes to $4-$9, depending on how hungry I am, which is great. I go there once a week (sometimes twice a week) and the place doesn't get too busy unless it's a Saturday afternoon. The people are nice and will remember you and what you like to order.

I haven't used them for catering (for lack of an occasion), but I was there one Sunday and the owner brought out a very large, cooked, covered, whole pig and asked if I wanted to see it. It was very good smelling and even better looking(and I don't even like pig, so that's a HUGE compliment coming from me). It made me feel bad that I don't order the more esoteric dishes on the menu from time to time.

There isn't much of a dessert menu, but they do have a good coconut milk dessert. Other than that, the only weak point is their name. I believe that they would get more business with a more appealing name.

MY REVIEW: Howzit!

I found out dat da cook went 2 Hawaii 2 learn how 4 cook! Too good yah?

Would be nice if they can add shredded smoke pork (kalua pig) to their menu. Shoyu chicken, lomi lomi salmon, chicken long rice and laulau and poi. Also, Guava, Lilikoi and Haupia cake would be killers for dessert!

Love the BBQ ribs, teriyaki, katsu! Just like L&L, Zippy's, Diners, Rainbow drive inn back home...

What next? Zippys chili and zip pack? LOL...

MY REVIEW: I really enjoy the chicken combination..its like a grilled chicken and also chicken katsu, basically to me like a deep fried chicken pattie then sliced comes with 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop of macaroni salad and 2 types of dipping sauces for each type of chicken. I've gone several times from the advice of this website and im glad I did. Also the sushi is not bad.

MY REVIEW: My wife & I came over for dinner for the first time. Clean, bright, open area eating place. We looked at the menu from the pictures on the wall. Next time, need to look at the take-out menu for the smaller sized portions and items not shown on the wall. We ordered the chicken katsu plate. The chicken katsu, was on a bed of shredded cabbage and slices of cucumbers that was battered perfectly with a slight crunch on the outside and the light, moist chicken on the inside. The katsu sauce was sweet and not overpowering. The macaroni salad was definately hawaii style with a hint of tuna in it. The scoop of the macaroni salad was "good size" with the rice being the equal size. Will have to order the "smaller portion" size the next time. This place is worth the drive for any Hawaiian transplant who misses the local kine food!!!

MY REVIEW: Aloha Hawaiian BBQ catered our work Luau today and the food, taste, and presentation was excellent. It was complimented by our staff all day long. The owner was also very helpful; he explained how to serve the food with the correct sauces. I would definitely recommend Aloha Hawaiian BBQ for any event that you need catered; they are affordable, authentic and delicious! Order lots of the Katsu Chicken, it was the companies favorite.

MY REVIEW: Being a Los Angeles girl stuck in Houston I was having mad cravings for spam musubi but didn't know where to obtain some??? I proceeded to ask everyone I know and to my surprise a lot of people have never tried Hawaiian style cuisine. So I googled and found the B4 U Eat website and found Aloha Hawaiian BBQ and decided to give it a try. It was about 1/2 hr drive to Katy from inside 610 loop but it was well worth it. I ordered moco loco and spam musubi, while my boyfriend order the 4.95 teriyaki chicken bowl special. The prices were very reasonable and the servings were very generous. They also serve short ribs and curry chicken katsu which I will definitely order next time. Ambiance was great, cute little place with very friendly and polite owners. The only drawback was no desert :-(. I suppose I will have to quench my malasada and snowcone cravings back in LA. Needless to say, totally recommend it and will definitely visit again.

MY REVIEW: I am very familiar with Hawaiian food since I have spent many summers visiting my grandparents on Kauai. This place is as close as you'll ever get in Texas! My favorite is the Chicken Katsu! I can't get enough of it. My boyfriend always gets the BBQ Chicken, white meat. The food has so much flavor and best of all the portions are very large and you get so much food for little money. The macaroni salad is THE BEST by far. Never tasted anything like it. Everything is great.

They have a special dessert, not sure if he makes it for everyone, but it's a type of coconut flavored jello. It is scrumptious!

Service is impeccable. They are fast and always friendly. If you go more than 2-3 times, they already know you by face. Best place in Katy, practically the best Hawaiian food place in Houston, hands down!

MY REVIEW: Two words: SPAM MUSUBI!!!!!

My cousin (who's also from Hawaii and lives in Katy) told me about this place and I was achin' to drive out to Katy (I'm from Houston) to try it out. I wasn't disappointed. Had the Chicken Katsu...which was humongous! The proprietors were very entusiastic and seemed to know what they were doing. Loved every minute of it and I savored every bite, which took me back to my hanabata days on da islands. I'll be back! I'm gonna try out there loco-moco and mix plate lunches...heck, I'm gonna try them all! And, of course, more...all together folks...SPAM MUSUBI!!!

MY REVIEW: This is truly a sample of the type of Drive-Inn's you would find in Hawaii. The food is execellent and the portions are plentiful. My son who grew up on Zippy's plate lunches whenever we went home loves this place and whenever we are in the area we make it a point to have lunch or dinner there. We wish the location was closer to our neighbor where more locals from the Island reside at.

Keep up the good work and we wish you continued success
