Vaquero's Mexican Grill

MY REVIEW: My daughter and I go frequently. They prepare our meals to suit our diets, willing substituting vegetables & charro beans for the rice and refried beans. I love the grilled tilapia and the grilled chicken. My daughter gets the spinach enchalidas almost every time. I also like the tamale dinner and the shrimp salad.

This is a great family owned business and their food is not the typical Tex-Mex type food --- lots of flavor. Chips are always fresh, margaritas delicious and service fast and friendly. Restaurant is always clean.

It's a little hard to find on FM1960, but well worth the hunt.

MY REVIEW: Not a big fan. I thought the food was a little bland. Although they do use a lot of fresh ingredients which I did like. Such as fresh cilantro in the burrito. The food portions were a decent size and the wait staff was very friendly. The prices weren't too bad. But because I did not like the food I won't be going back.

MY REVIEW: This family owned restaurant is simply excellent. Most menu items are a bargain which means inexpensive but enough food to take some home for lunch the next day. I have been to Vaquero's often, have tried a variety of entrees, and have never been disappointed. Vaquero's is always clean, and the food is fresh and delicious. I continue to refer it to anyone who is tired of "chain" restaurants but who loves Mexican food.
