MY REVIEW: I worked for them 30 years ago - my first job! My mom lives in DH and every time we see mama, we go to Porras! To think my daughter who is now 15 is a Porras customer!!! I remember Mr. and Mrs. Porras and they were so sweet to me. Rene and Hector are NUTS! LOL. They have the BEST carne guizada but the tamales do need a little help. The maranitos (pig cookies) are GREAT! The campechanas, tortillas, pan de huevo (mexican pastries) are good, and they are slowly trying to let the bakery business go. I hope not - they beat A*randas, F*iesta and all those other bakery wannabes!! WOO HOO

MY REVIEW: Porras is a community favorite. I've been going there for MANY YEARS. My entire family goes there for these favorites of burritos/tacos and much more this place has to offer. I can remember when Mr. and Mrs. Porras were both attending to customers. Now they have family members and friends taking care of the business.

The atmosphere and taste in food has never changed. If you want that comfort food... that great taste in breakfast tacos to making these burritos/tacos and even enjoyable plates your meal of the day and/or for dinner... this is definitely the place to go to. They can add or take away to whatever taco you'd like or nearly create your own... they'll be more than happy to assit to any change.

We even buy their homeade flour tortillas by the dozens. For $4.00 you can get your dozen fresh homeade flour tortillas made to your order. Why buy store bought... My family and I will continue to go to Porras for as long as they stay in business... and at the rate they're going- they'll be around for a very long time. Porras Prontito is a highly recommended place to try and make this place one of your favorites, too. ((Great JOB PORRAS... STAY STRONG))

MY REVIEW: love their breakfast tacos. I've been going to this place for about 4 years now, and the best part about this restaurant is that it never changes. Its just as delicious as its always been.

MY REVIEW: Burritos to die for. Really. they are that good. It's all about the tortilla - and while these folks have the machine going in back mass producing, it's the hand made ones that they make fresh for the entree's that take the cake. Ambiance is non existent here. The setting is a hybrid corner store/panaderia/tortilla factory/home. Don't let that stop you from having some of the best early morning mexican fare you'll have. Top off the Burito/taco with an authentic mexican soda. Great sweetbread too.

MY REVIEW: My husband has been going to Porras for years and when we got married ten years ago, he took me there and it has become one of my very favorite places to eat. The homemade fresh tortillas are wonderful by themselves but the fajita con queso soft taco is my absolute favorite. We drive over an hour to enjoy them! It helps to know a little Spanish and it is very casual dining (it is set in a little market) but don't let that stop you from experiencing the great food!
