MY REVIEW: The favorable review in Texas Monthly about seafood crepes prompted us to try this place on a cold Wed. afternoon. But crepes are only served week-ends, so we tried a variety of menu offerings. Even though our taste buds were primed for those crepes, everything we ate ranged from good to excellent. We leaned towards some of the "heavier" dishes on this cold, late afternoon. An appetiser of fried cheese sticks was good, but over-priced for four. Another one, the grilled sausage sampler was a better value, served with very good sauerkraut and spicy mustard. My jaegerschnitzel plate was good (accompanied with excellent spatzle). Wife's fried seafood platter was as good as most Galveston seafood houses and priced a few bucks less than some. The crab cake, though not Maryland style, was excellent. But the sandwiches seemed to get the most raves, especially the roast pork and muffulata (sp?). The bread was delicious as was the German fries that came with the large sandwiches. A good value @ $6.95, if I recall. Also ordered a side of delicious potato pancakes. No room for desert. Our young waitress was no-nonsense and got all orders correctly. Seaside Bistro is a small, somewhat cozy space located next to an old, seen-better-days drive-in grocery. But in spite of modest surroundings, this is a place that serves well prepared food at reasonable prices. We plan to make the trip from League City regularly.

MY REVIEW: The food has been very good in the past but the service is usually terrible. The only thing that kept bringing us back was the food but no more. The waitress seemed more interested in picking up the two women at the next table than waiting on us. She got our order wrong after telling us she would find our server then she admitted that she was indeed our waitress. If she can't remember which orders she took than she sure can't remember the orders.
The fried shrimp were fried dark and served cool. The manager said the House salad that we ordered was what they now referred to as a "side" salad which is not listed on the menu. The house salad is still on the menu for $4.95 but the manager says the nice square serving pieces they have used for years gave customers too much salad. They sure won't have that problem with the little plastic bowl they served us on. We have been on the west end for 18 years and it is ashamed that this place has gotten to the point that now even the food is as bad as the service has always been.

MY REVIEW: Went for Brunch. Was great as usual the food is just so good here, nice little place, you might pass it up if you dont' really know about it because it is connected to a convenience store, but the restaurant is cozy and the food is ALWAYS fabulous.

MY REVIEW: I love this little place, the food is fabulous, the salads always crisp and fresh. I have tried almost everything on the menu, the only thing I didn't like was the appetizer chicken wings tasted like something frozen and not a good brand. The burgers are delicious and HUGE! The pasta great, steaks great, everything is fabulous EXCEPT: I think the owner probably needs to be more involved.
I have been many times and the male waiter that we get each time, is always bit slow, and a bit distracted, and forgetful (although busy) and last time my partner and I went the waiter and the cook got into a big argument and the waiter came back out wearing some sort of sauce on his shirt. We left rather quickly after that. You could hear them yelling back and forth in the kitchen, then one of them came out and dialed a number, and they both took turns telling whoever was on the other end their side. ALL within few and earshot of all the customers.
This will not keep me from going back, I just feel something needs to be addressed.

MY REVIEW: This place has the best breakfast on the Island! But we don't just go for breakfast -- everything on the menu is good! We go AT LEAST twice a month, and the food is always great. Everything prepared fresh. Everyone on the waitstaff is really nice, too. Sometimes they get a little busy, but that's because it's a great place to eat.

MY REVIEW: I love this place for brunch on the weekend. The eggs sardou are fantastic, as are all the egg dishes. My companion had an omelette, which looked and tasted great. You can also get mimosas, which we thought was a big plus. The outdoor patio is very pleasant. Service was good - very friendly and accomdating, if maybe a little slow, but we were the only people outside. Reasonable prices, too!
