Nobody mentions that the eating area is about the size of a small home dining room, really more of a takeout place than a dine in...my bad I guess. The pizza on the buffet was good not great and not worth the hassle with the crowded dining area. The manager/owner was very friendly and even asked us what type of pizza we wanted. Another negative is no fountain drinks or tea, just bottles and cans of drinks and sodas. I would not be upset if I had to go back but with so many other choices, it may be a while. MY REVIEW: The owner arranged for us to get a fresh pizza on the buffet so we could get the kid's price for the buffet instead of buying a bigger pizza. We liked the pizza and definitely the price. NAME: jj SUBMITTED: 12/26/2006   LAST VISIT WAS: 12/06 FREQUENCY: Visited once MY REVIEW: I placed an order for the first time last night and was told the pizza would be ready in 30 minutes; arrived at 27 minutes and had to wait three minutes before low and behold, a pizza for "Roy" was ready. In that period of time, I witnessed the manager serve a family that came in for the buffet. The customer asked for 4 buffets and 4 drinks. The manager went out of his way to ask the age of the kids so he could provide a free meal to the family (a specific minimum age - kids eat for free) and also volunteered a discount on the buffet price. This manager was not interested in getting the most money out of the customer but making sure that they had a pleasant dining experience and gave them the discount out of a "true sense of family" that they advertise on their website. Right before I received my pizza, the family was asked if they would like any type of pizza made for them that was not out. The "Wow" factor kicked in again for excellent customer service! I went home and thoroughly enjoyed my pizza knowing that I would return with my family to enjoy the Family friendy atmosphere of Donelly's Pizza. The pizza was excellent to boot. After 1 hour, it still was not ready. I was told that because it was a weekend, it was taking longer. After 1hr and 15min. it was finally ready. I did not receive an apology or discount for the extrodinary wait. Just a shrug of the shoulder. The pizza is good, but sometimes too much crust leaving little room for acutal pizza. I live in Baytown and I would be willing to drive the 45 minutes it takes to get to Donelly's Pizza before I would pick up the phone and call in for delivery from a major pizza franchise.
