Pub Fiction
2303 Smith St, Houston, Texas 77006
MY REVIEW: Food took an hour. I had a coupon (no restrictions, no expiration date) from Recyclebank for free appetizer. I showed the coupon before ordering. Manager would not honor coupon. He said they don't honor those coupons anymore. After much back and forth, he finally honored it. I have contacted recyclebank.

MY REVIEW: We went here on a Sunday and there was a crowd but it wasn't too crowded, we were able to sit and eat. Had a great time! Guess something has changed since the bad reviews in 2007!

MY REVIEW: Pub Fiction is one of the most pretentious bars out there. They will make people wait 45 minutes outside when the bar isn't even full. People who valet expensive cars or know one of the 4 people working the door don't have to wait.
I've never been to a club in Houston, Los Angeles, or Vegas whose staff treats people so poorly because they don't look a certain way or don't drive a $50,000 car.
If you're looking for an experience that resembled sorority rush, Pub Fiction is your place. If you're looking to relax with friends, there are better choices everywhere.

MY REVIEW: This place gets worse every time I go. I went on the 80s cover band Thursday and waited in line 30-40 minutes before getting in the door. The bouncers are so pretentious letting some people go ahead of others and if you're not wearing the right shoes, forget about it. They will turn you away. The beer is overpriced and the place is crowed. Some beatutiful people, but mainly over 35 crowd trying to score with 20-something girls. Yack! Find a better Midtown place.

MY REVIEW: After mounting its charge and becoming one of Midtown's most talked about happy hour and weekend hot spots for twenty something yuppies, Pub Fiction is rapidly approaching status as a "place that isn't as good as it used to be." Since opening in early summer, and rising in popularity nearly immediately, Pub Fiction has lost a step. While 80's night on Thursday is still well attended and the weekend crowds continue line-up, the clientele has started to be less than great. Where this bar used to have a nice mix of see-and-be-seen and check-you-ego/attitude-at-the-door, it now feels like a bunch of people who drove in to town to find out that they don't know where the real party is.
