MY REVIEW: Since posting my last review 3 years ago, I have not been to San Lorenzo because there are much better choices not too far away. However, last night it was getting too late (past 9:30pm) to go elsewhere so I stopped in as it's on my way home.
I orderd the San Lorenzo Deluxe plate. Standard runny chili con queso---hard to critize because most places serve the same stuff. But quacamole and beef taco were very good. As always, their chili rellano was excellent and, as always, beef enchiladas were not. The enchiladas are small and the corn tortillas they use are not softened enough (tough). And the flavor just isn't there. Drive another 5-10 minutes to Webster for much better enchiladas at L*eila's or E*duarto's; another 10-15 minutes to Seabrook at Don J*ulio's; another 15-20 minutes to LaPorte at El R*anchero. Additionally, the rice and beans at SL are not anywhere as good as those other places.
Service is always reliable at SL. Just wish the combination plates were better.
There are better choices in nearby towns, but last night there just was not enough time to go elsewhere.

MY REVIEW: I have been enjoying San Lorenzo's since they moved into a larger facility. The service is great and the food is consistently delicious. The red and green sauces rock and the chips are always hot. We always order the Fajitas Poblana and queso. The Shrimp Cocktail is also awesome.
The staff are always friendly and will do whatever they can to make your dining experience a pleasant one. They do get crowded during peak hours so expect to wait. It's well worth it.
San Lo's blows bland M*ely's out of the water. They also have some great Tilapia entrees with a variety of yummy sauces. I love Mexican food and San Lorenzo's is my favorite by far. Tried & True. You can always rely on this local favorite. Just writing about them makes me crave the superior food.

MY REVIEW: San Laurenzo is our favorite Mexican food joint in this area. We eat here at least once a week! We had to move to Houston after Hurricane Ike and we still drive back for our "San Laurenzo" fix! We always get the same thing - queso, Mex guacamole, camarones Mexicanas...it is delicious, the servers have all been there forever and are always in the best mood! We love to go mid day and watch the football games with our yummy meals! We highly recommend it!

MY REVIEW: Well I went based on the good reviews and boy was I disappointed. It was very loud almost the noise of a crowded L*uby's type feel to it. The only positive thing I have to say was service was very fast and friendly.
I thought the food was awful. The queso is extremely bland(tasted like cheese mixed with milk to thin it out). I had the combo dinner and the taco meat was flavorless, then cam the enchilada with creamy american cheese and very bland gravey sauce. The meal also came with a tamale that was ok but again the meat in in was also very bland. So many other mexican places better in the area:M*elly's,La B*risa, Don J*ulio's all WAY better. Will never go back here.

MY REVIEW: I've been going to San Lorenzo since they were at the old location, but it had been several months since last visit. While I generally agree with previous reviews which are favorable regarding food and service, on my last visit couple days ago, it wasn't as good as I remembered it. I forget which dinner I ordered, but the beef enchiladas weren't very good. There was a tamale on the plate that was very good (and large)! Enchiladas were small and without much taste. I've never tried fajitas because they don't make homemade tortillas. I do agree that despite the recent tasteless enchiladas, this is still the best in League City. But not the best in the Bay Area----in my opinion that honor goes to El R*anchero (LaPorte) for good 'ol retro TexMex. They have the best beef enchiladas, rice and beans by far. Better prices too. I live within walking distance to San Lorenzo, but if I have the time, I'll drive the 15 minutes to LaPorte----well worth the drive for much better TexMex.

MY REVIEW: We have been dining here since the beginning when in it was in the smaller building. It IS the best in League City. I just wanted to add to an earlier review....they DO have green salsa and it is fabulous. You have to ask for it.

MY REVIEW: I love to come here, and their fajitas are delicious. Hubby also loves their enchiladas. Service is fast, friendly, and come early, or you'll be standing in line waiting for a seat, cuz they are always busy they are so popular.

MY REVIEW: The best Mexican food restaurant in League City by far. Wait staff could not be any better and if something is wrong...they will make it right. Family owned and operated business and it shows. They all take pride in their food, their service and you leaving happy.
I have never eaten anything that was not good and I have had just about everything on their menu including their margaritas. All great! Prices are good and they always get a good restaurant inspection report in the newspaper on Wednesdays...so that means they are clean and very conscientious.
Highly recommend!

MY REVIEW: Great Cabo Wabo margarita! I'll be going back to sample more kinds. Fastest service in a sit-down Mexican restaurant I have ever experienced. Salsa has the spiciest kick of any Mexican diner I have visited in the Bay Area. I wonder if the old kick familiar to regular customers has been restored. If not, that must've been one fiery salsa. When I dined there, it was not crowded and not noisy. But I can imagine it would be noisy when full. I think smaller salsa bowls should be passed out along with the big bowl, so that each diner can take what they want from the big bowl. But of course, that would mean more operating expense, more clutter on the table, more dishes to wash...

MY REVIEW: We've tries are almost tried every Mexican restaurant in the Clear Lake Area. Some of the others are quite good, but this one's my pick for best Mexican Restaurant in Clear Lake (though Mom A*lone gives them a run for their money).
We eat here every week.

MY REVIEW: I don't like margarita's but I love theirs! If you look around the room everybody has one!! Treat guests like family or good friend at the very least. Feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. Great food, great prices, great service. Friendly staff always seems happy even when it is crazy in there at peak time.
My one and only request is that they get "green sauce". That would be a plus!! I don't need to eat more chips and salsa of any kind but I don't care, life is short...enjoy it and the salsa (green or red).

MY REVIEW: Love the food, staff and best raspberry margarita's around. It's a great family business that treats guests like their own family. If a quiet dinner is what you want, don't go here.... it is always a fiesta here! I highly recommend the mexican guacamole for an appetizer. It's sassy! We go every week, sometimes a few times a week! Love it!

MY REVIEW: Food is always very good. Service is usually excellent, seems to have declined slightly at newer location vs smaller location. Very nice overall.
One big thing though. Why has the salsa taken a nose dive? It used to be the best available, when they were at smaller location. We have not been back to that location since the big location opened. We have never had salsa as excellent as it was at smaller location when visiting big location. The thing that is on the salsa milk carton picture is the kick/fire it used to have. We will be trying the tacqueria (smaller location) next time to see if it is just a preparation thing between the different locations or if they have chosen to dumb down the kick like so many other mexican restaurants. I sure hope the fire lives at the Tacqueria as we wont be back to the big location unless the salsa changes back to the good Ol Days of a year or so ago.
I know of a few people who have stopped going altogether because of this Salsa fiasco I describe. If your a manager at one of these locations, take heed, the salsa of yesteryear Rocks, the new salsa is about as spicy as a hot December day in Montana.
One final thing, serving size and price are hard (if not impossible) for any other comparable restaurant in area to beat.

MY REVIEW: I agree with Taco Man------only thing missing is a great homemade flour tortilla. When they moved to larger digs, why didn't they put in one of those tortilla stations where you can watch them being made? Otherwise, food is very good, as is service.

MY REVIEW: The food is excellent Margaritas are great the only thing lacking that would make it out of this world is the tortillas are not home made this is a deal breaker when it comes to authentic mexican food if they get some real tortillas in there they would be out of sight
