MY REVIEW: This was my first visit here. I'm not vegan or vegetarian... but every once in a while i will eat a vegetarian meal. I ordered the falafel burger with a side of fries. the burger was great. i could taste fresh ginger and garlic with every bite. The falafael patty could have been a little bit crispier, but the miso sauce that dressed the patty made it savory. The fries were seasoned with what i'm thinking was a curry/turmeric seasoning blend... not really sure, but it tasted GREAT. definitely coming back here..... staff were very friendly also.

MY REVIEW: Based on the previous reviews, I decided to drop by and pick something up for lunch. I had the salmon burger and a side salad. DELICIOUS! I was skeptical about the burger b/c I'm a meat eater and I couldn't imagine that a salmon burger would taste better than beef. I was wrong. It was awesome! I ate it in my office and two of my coworkers came in while I was eating and commented how good my lunch smelled. There was no fishy smell from the burger. I'm guessing they could mainly smell the dressing on the side salad. It was great but very garlicky. I was impressed and will definitely go back to try other things!

MY REVIEW: This restaurant has food for almost everyone in my opinion - from the macrobiotic to the vegan to the fish eater (no meat that I can recall). I still wasn't thoroughly impressed with their menu, as it is a bit strange and not as widespread as I might have hoped from the reviews and good word-of-mouth I had heard. Still, my husband and I were more than happy with our meals. The salad dressing is deliciously full of garlic and there are several good choices of protein for vegetarians. The smoothies are a definite recommend if you like soy milk. I will definitely go back, but I am still not sure if I will make it a regular place.

MY REVIEW: In case you wish to read no further - bottom line - excellent. I was actually trying to go to the Chinese restaurant at the other end of the strip center only to discover it had closed. Not wanting to get into my car and drive somewhere else, I thought I would try Field of Greens as I have passed it many times, but never stopped. I was initially disappointed as the handwritten menu seemed "bland" and I am not a tofu kind of person, but I was hungry and thought "what the heck?" I ordered the portobello sandwich and learned it came with soup or salad (or something else). The soup was white bean and tofu ham (I think)...hmmmmm...tofu again. Well the soup was delicious and steaming hot! And the sandwich was wonderful! I also appreciated that the serving size was not enough to feed 4 people (and we wonder why Houstonians are so overweight?), but just right to feed one - ME! And reasonably priced. I have already told a friend about it. AND, even though I am not a tea drinker, I discovered a store right next door called the P*ath of Tea. Beautiful unique teapot sets for $48 - $55 dollars! I will let all my tea drinking friends know about this, too. I will be back to both.

MY REVIEW: What a very bizarre review by "Paul."
I eat here regularly, although even if I weren't vegetarian, I would do the same. The food is always fresh, from scratch, creative and beautiful. The owners and staff are super, and the prices are great. Meat eaters LOVE the salmon burger. The decor is tables and chairs at which to eat the great food!!! It's always clean and light and welcoming. Don't miss this gem!

MY REVIEW: Hmmm... How to start? Well, let me begin by saying that I AM NOT a Vegetarian. I sought out this "cafe" and that's what I'd call it, a Cafe, because my In-Laws who are visiting from Germany, ARE Vegetarians. I thought it would be a good idea for a change that I would be the one having to experience the challenge of finding something I might enjoy from a "foreign" menu, PUN intended. So, I read the reviews here on B4-U-Eat and voila! I was set on going to this establishment. After all, how could nearly 100% positive reviews be wrong - Right?!
Well, I really enjoyed the simplicity of the place and I, yes I said, "I" thought the food was GREAT! My In-Laws however described the flavors as "Unusual" and "Exotic" and really were not satisfied. I must qualify this though, so as not to give prospective customers the wrong idea... First, my father-In-Law explained that just because something is vegetarian in consistency, doesn't mean it will appeal to the tastes of all vegetarians. Understood. Next, since my In-Laws are from Germany where things, generally speaking, are a bit more proper, were a bit perplexed by the whole "green," pardon the PUN, experience of this... again, Cafe.
The establishment has not squandered its profits on decor and the clientele seemed to very much at ease with the "natural state of things." I'll leave this comment to everyone's own interpretation... It was a bit afterall like visiting Bisbee Arizona. :-)
It was very clean inside as was the Men's Room which we all know is rare these days, and Jessica, the girl who waited on us was very friendly, very patient with my In-Laws, very accommodating and just plain nice. Thanks Jessica!
So, what's the bottom line here? Well, I would recommend Field of Greens to anyone desiring to eat health(IER)y, who is not afraid of new flavors, and who is not in search of a very comfortable dining experience.

MY REVIEW: Just noticed this place today as I was driving down Alabama. Stopped in with my 11 month old for lunch. We had the Salmon burger with a side of salad and the garlic dressing. The burger was thick and stuffed with lettuce, tomato, pickles, sprouts and a tasty yogurt sauce. If I had to describe everything in one word it would be: YUMO!!!!!!!! It was all super healthy, filling and delicious. My baby girl even loved everything and she's a picky little eater. We will tell everyone we know about this place and will DEFINITELY be back to try everything else on the menu. TWO GREEN THUMBS WAY UP!

MY REVIEW: I was craving Field of Greens on Sunday. They close at three, and I got there after three. The chef, went ahead, and made me my tabouli and avocado sandwich anyway. That is what I call service!

MY REVIEW: As a vegetarian and semi-health freak, this place is one of my all time FAVORITES! The menu is FILLED with healthy, delicious-sounding items, and I cannot wait to try them all! The first time I tried the Wild Field Pockets which were absolutely delicious and very filling. Today I had the green bean hummus wrap which was soo yummy as well! My sister and mom, both meat-eaters, tried the tuna salad both times and loved it. The guy working there today was SOO nice and helpful. It is definitely my favorite quick, healthy lunch spot. Next on my list is the macrobiotic platter! cant wait to be back!

MY REVIEW: I don't think there is anything about this place (except maybe the prices), that I don't like. The creamy garlic dressing is to die for, the tofu chocolate silk pie is to die for, the sandwiches are to die for, need I go on??
I finally found a place that my vegan/vegetarian friends and I, can all eat and enjoy. I will be back, and I will be telling all of my veghead friends to make Field of Greens, a place to check out.

MY REVIEW: I TOTALLY dig this place. The food is always fresh and tasty. The menu choices are varied and wonderful. I want to go back just so I can try many other things on the menu. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and the service fast. One of my favorite places in Houston to eat, and since I am a vegan and they have many vegan selections on the menu or can make pretty much anything on the menu vegan, that is a huge plus. Honestly, I wish they would quit selling the Seafood items but I guess this makes it an ok place to take my non-vegan friends.

MY REVIEW: The menu and food at Field of Greens is a welcome and healthy alternative to standard menus in our city. The potato leek soup was smooth and very flavorful. I savored every bite of the mouth-watering multi-layered eggplant sandwich and it persuaded me to eat less meat. I ate an amazing, tasty vegetarian sandwich and was fully satisfied. I was happy to see organics being used so don't expect fast food prices. Prices are extremely fair for the quality food. Service was friendly and quick-paced—no long waits for food and the chefs are very efficient. I can't wait to go back and I too hope they open a 2nd location in NW Houston.

MY REVIEW: The food is soo absolutely wonderful. The soup is always good even when the name sounds funny. My favorite is the salmon burger served on whole wheat bread. They sell the buns at Wholefoods and is the most expensive one there! That's great that a restaurant is giving its customers quality food. How rare is that! Anyway, great food, mostly self-serve when it comes to getting water and napkins. A casual place to hang out. I recommend to all!

MY REVIEW: The food is tasty here, and there is a generous selection of vegetarian/vegan entrees. However, I found the lady who runs the place to be quite rude. She gets a bad attitude when one requests no mayo on one's sandwich. She acts like such a request is preposterous and a personal insult. This has happened twice! It is simply because of this attitude that I won't be going back!

MY REVIEW: Amazing restaurant. Friendly staff, fresh food, and quiet atmosphere cannot be beat. My girlfriend and I go there once a week on our own and once with the family. Vegan food at it's absolute best. My omni parents love it too!

MY REVIEW: Excellent restaurant. Contemporary design and soft jazz plays in the background. And now, the food. Yum. I had a grilled eggplant sandwich which was served on Eziekel bread (bread that is not made with flour) and it was delicious. It came with the soup of the day, which was split pea and broccoli. Very tasty, even though the cominbation sounds odd. Hubby had the greek salad which was huge. Dressing was a balsamic vinegar. We were too full to try dessert, but the chocolate tofu pie and vegan chocolate cake sound intriguing.
I will make a point of returning. This is a place for everyone to enjoy. I wish they would open a Northwest Houston location.

MY REVIEW: I LOVE this place. The food was delicious and the portion size outrageous for the price. Being vegetarian, it is nice to have such a selection to choose from. I also appreciate that the chef will make anything vegan that she possibly can.
Thumbs up to great food!

MY REVIEW: I'm vegan. This is my favorite restaurant, even though they serve fish and cheese. The chef is vegan, so she will make anything on the menu vegan for you.... except the fish, obviously.

MY REVIEW: We really enjoyed this place. The food was great. As a group of three we all shared the grilled eggplant sandwich, tabouleh and avocado sandwich, and the fake bacon BLT. All were fantastic and very filling. We ended up bringing 2 half sandwiches home. The salad dressing is also great. The staff is very friendly. WE went at 4pm on New Years eve, and they weren't expecting to be busy, yet they were. Everyone was still very outgoing and helpful, despite being backed up. It is a tiny bit pricey, but oftentimes quality healthy food is. I will definitely be back!

MY REVIEW: As a vegetarian, I am always searching for quality restaurants in Houston that cater specifically to this foodist category. Field of Greens fits the bill. The food is very good, the menu selections are extensive as well as varied. It does have a (good) down side - if you have limited time, the wait for your meal may be a challenge. However, the wait usually stems from the kitchen staff taking the extra time to prepare that quality meal. One other note, sometimes the wait staff is slow to get the tables cleared, I believe it's because the cashier serves double duty.

MY REVIEW: We just got back from Field of Green's. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan - $9.95 and DH had grilled salmon $11.25 (I think). Both come with lettuce salad with a very nice cucumber dressing. Beans and broccoli also came with the salmon. My Eggplant was absolutely, absolutely, absolutely, wonderful - can't say enough good things. I was glad we decided not to go to the movie afterwards (because the garage looked too congested). I can continue to mull over this wonderful meal. For the price (no tip required but always gratefully accepted in a jar on the counter), I have never had anything so wonderful. I doubt Tony's could top the quality but then I've never been to Tony's. Normally, tomato sauce isn't my favorite but this was sweet and very mellow and just wonderful, not real pepper hot but I'm sure there were a lot of spices.

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit at this new location, but I will absolutely be back a lot. I had the wild field pockets: whole wheat pita stuffed with crispy tofu sticks, grilled vegie ham and chicken, fresh tomato, avocado, sauted fresh shitake mushrooms, and a fabulous sauce. It was one of the best things I've eaten all year. It came with a side salad--I had expected this to be the usual kind of after-thought you get in most places, but instead it was fabulous. A couple kinds of lettuce, three or four added chopped vegetables, a to-die-for dressing, and everything fresh, fresh, fresh. The owner previously ran S*oya Cafe out on Blalock, a very good but badly located restaurant. Her partner in this venture is a previous head chef from the old M*oveable Feast on Greenbriar (home of the current Z*iggie's). I have mourned the passing of that old place, and am delighted to see him back again in this new venture.

MY REVIEW: Best vegetarian spot I've ever tried! I had the wheat pockets with split-pea soup. They were both very tasty. I think meat-eaters generally believe that vegetarian food is less tasty. Well, they should try this spot! The food was exceedingly flavorful. And, the ambience of the place is very relaxing. Big windows, soft sage-colored walls and beautiful art on the walls. I just want to take a book there, order any random dish and enjoy!

MY REVIEW: I can't get enough of this place, I love to have the BLT for lunch with a side salad. The salad dressing can not be beat! I love the 'fakin' bacon' on the BLT, it's texture and taste is so much like meat, if you weren't told, you'd think it was turkey bacon. The BLT is perfect for lunch. I highly recommend it. Love, love, love this place!! Keep up the great work!
