MY REVIEW: My friend likes Mediterranean food so we stopped by here around 11:30am. We just beat the rush, so we got our food pretty fast. All I can say is get the Ultimate Shawarma Sandwich (which really is a wrap). It was seriously amazing. Potatoes I chose as my side were pretty good too but nothing special, but that wrap outstanding. I will be back, and most likely this place will be one of my new favorites spots for lunch.

MY REVIEW: I eat here about twice a month for lunch. The food is fresh, well-made, and moderately-priced. The chicken kebabs are spicy, flavorful, and juicy. And Aladdin has the best babaganoosh (sp.?) in Houston, hands down. Very fresh array of middle eastern salads (I'm a tabbouli fan). I also love the fresh baked bread that they bake continuously. Nice people too.

MY REVIEW: My first visit and not impressed. 11:15 on a workday and had to wait 20 minutes for the chicken to cook for a chicken shwarma sandwich. The staff clearly didn't want me to wait, although they said it was ok. I really wanted to try it since it's supposed to be top notch. It was ok. The sauce was good, but nothing special about the chicken. The best part was the pickle honestly. I doubt it's domestic. The hummus was good as was the fresh pita, but the kafka meatballs were mediocre. The baklava as well was average. For Greek I will continue to go to N*ko N*ko's and if you want a chicken shwarma sandwich, try Dr*ubi Br*thers.

MY REVIEW: We stopped by again -- because the line at N*iko N*iko's was too long at 8PM. The hummus is good and so is the tabbulleh (albeit sometimes too sour). They've revamped their grilled meats so the sides are much bigger than before. They also pass you 2 freshly baked bread to each person!!! Try it out! And sometimes there is belly dancing.

MY REVIEW: The vegan sampler is huge and wonderful. They make their bread in a brick oven. The fresh juice is great. They'll let you linger over a cup of tea. There is no downside to this place. Go!

MY REVIEW: My favorite is N*iko N*iko's -- but when the line's too long, Aladdin's is a great place to stop by. Sometimes they bake their bread fresh -- and the kabob's are fresh. I like the baba ganoosh, tabuli, cauliflower, and kabobs. My fiancee and I were surprised by a free belly dancing show! Reasonable prices, too.

MY REVIEW: Very good food. The portion is big. The meat are well flavored. The fresh bread is so good when it is hot. Will continue to go back.

MY REVIEW: I only had the chicken shawarma. Holy sh*t! It was AWESOME! I was on my way home from downtown where I work, and I was picking some up for me n my girlfriend. I took one bite on the way home after picking the shawarmas up bc I was so hungry. I accidentally ate the whole thing on the way home it was so delicious. I've tried many places shawarma's and this place is ranked at #2 on my list. #1 is Cafe L*ili. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It was very clean and cozy inside. The outside of the place does not in any way represent the inside decor of the place. It is much nicer inside. And it was cheap too! $11 for 2 shawarmas that are over a foot long. And they hooked it up on the chicken!

MY REVIEW: I eat here about once a week and the food is absolutely amazing. The first time a piece of their tender chicken kabob with garlic sauce touched my tongue, I knew we had created a life long love affair. Everything here is great and I take the abundance of left overs home and eat them for lunch. I don't like leftovers, but their food heats up great and tastes just as good as eating it at the restaurant. THIS PLACE WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!

MY REVIEW: Alladin is one of the best places in Houston for a vegan to eat. Tons of great choices of cooked and raw veggies. Super friendly staff and always delicious. I wish they served breakfast!

MY REVIEW: I really love this place... the location is great, the decor is very nice, and the food selection and taste is superb! I am a big fan of Mediteranean food, and a pesco-vegetarian. Not many Med. restaurants in town offer a fish option - Aladdin's Red Snapper is fantastic, and the baba ganush is the best I've ever eaten, not to mention the fresh-from-the-oven pita bread. YUM! They are currently BYOB, which is nice to take advantage of, and to top it off they now have awesome belly dance shows on Friday nights - so I will definitely be going back with friends on a Friday evening soon.

MY REVIEW: I always go eat at various med restaurant in town but when I went for the first time at aladdin I was facinated with the beautiful décor, nice food setup, and by far the best med food I had.I had a lamb kb which was so tender and lean, tabuli salad was fresh ,hummos was perfectly blended with the garlic and the lemon juice, and the most amazing thing which enjoyed having at alladin is the Fresh bread for God sakes this guy literally took out from the oven straight to my basket. Two thumbs up.

MY REVIEW: I eat lunch here once, sometimes twice a week. I love the place. As a vegetarian, it's great having so many fresh and healthy choices. Try the cilantro roasted potatoes or the lemony green beans in a tomato sauce. The zucchini and yellow squash are incredible. There are lots of salads and a variety of other fresh cooked veggies. I don't know a thing about Mediterranean foods or their names but I know good food and I have certainly had a lot of it at Aladdin. Don't forget about the pita. I was never particularly impressed one way or the other about pita bread until it came hot from a brick oven smelling like heaven. The staff is friendly and helpful. While they don't know my name, they certainly know my face and I am always greeted with a smile.

MY REVIEW: The first time I ate at Aladdin's, I was a student at St. Thomas down the street. They offered a 15% student discount (which always helps) and the large amount of food fed me for 2 meals. I love the fact that the food is always ready and the wait is minimal. Every time I eat there, I try something new. While many dishes are super hits (lamb kabob and eggplant), others are just plain good (chicken and gyros). At first glance, I would say that the atmosphere is clean and the service is very helpful. Once I called at 9:50pm - they close at 10 and asked for a take out order - the manager was so kind he had the order ready for me to pick up and handed it to me with a smile. Instead of being upset, he politely asked me to come back and said thank you for your buisness. He wasn't sarcastic as some other patrions suggested. I will return again and again.

MY REVIEW: I am a native Houstonian living in the montrose area for over 20 years and I can say to you that I love this place. I have visited surrounding restaurants and I hear some of the negative things that come out of the managers mouths when I bring up Aladdins.....the funny thing is that I have actually seen the heavy set N*ikos N*ikos guy there snooping around.....my god! Just wait till they have been there a few more months and that way they can figure out what needs more attention. Awesome service and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. And for those of you that walk into a mans business and act like everyone should kiss your butt......I just think you need to hire a professional to help get you over your short commings. When you go to a eatery you go there for the food not to see if soemone will be excepting of you and your short commings. Enjoy the AWESOME FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

MY REVIEW: I don't understand what the problem is with some of these reviews but I think that it is the competition making things up to scare people away because Aladdins is that GOOD ..... I freaking love this place!!!! Super service with super tasting food. I know this place will be a HUGE Hit in the Montrose area. I have visited many places in the Montrose area and I have never ever been so well treated in all my life from any food establishment. I am hooked!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY REVIEW: I have been going to Fadi's for years also - see last review... I think Aladdin's food is excellent and as good as Fadi's, although Aladdin may have fewer items. I have been to Aladdin's many times and the service has always been great and the staff has always been overly friendly and extremely helpful. I have a hard time believing the last review.

MY REVIEW: I have been a customer of Fadi's for 12 years and eagerly anticipated the opening of Aladdins. It became one of our favorite places to eat and I also recommended it to everyone I knew-way better than N*iko-N*iko's I said. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE VISIT ALADDINS. My boyfriend and I went to Aladdins 8/5/06 and ordered 2 Lamb Kabob sandwich platters. We ate our greek and tabouli salads and waited for our sandwichs.
After 20 minutes of waiting and watching the grill for someone, anyone, to begin cooking our kabobs, I approached the counter and kindly asked if it would be much longer. The manager (dark hair/glasses) rudely informed me that I placed a gyro order and that's the problem so he'd have to change it because the kitchen thought it was gyro. I politely told him we placed the kabob order and, had it been gyro, it still wouldn't have taken 20 minutes. He did not apologize but turned away.
We waited another 10 minutes and watched as he made our sandwiches. He came to our table and literally threw down a plate with 1 sandwich cut in half and said "you share this while I make the other sandwich". We were shocked, but starving, so we ate our halves in silence.
He returned with the other sandwich and my boyfriend said, "it's customary to apologize when the customer has waited 30 minutes for the food". He replied, visibly offended, "I didn't take your order and I said sorry". My boyfriend said, "that's not our problem and you didn't apologize and it's not polite". The manager then laughed and attacked him stating "oh, you don't think I'm being polite? Sorry, there, does that make your day? Does that make you feel better?" I then piped up and said "I do not understand why you are acting this way, this is one of my favorite places, etc. and you have never been this rude". He said, "oh, I'm being rude? Well, I'm sorry". All of this was said in a sarcastic, rude, confrontational manner. He turned from us, smiling as friends of his came through the door and walked with them to the counter, laughing jovially. We then ate half of our remaining shared sandwich when he walked to our table with our ticket, placed it on the table and stated "your bill has been voided, your money", at this point waved his hand as if brushing it aside and stated we should sign a copy. We were insulted as we didn't want free food, just customer service and left Aladdins.
Aladdin's was one of my favorite restaurants and close to our home. It's terrible that we can never revisit Aladdins and terrible that we can no longer recommend this restaurant to our friends, family, coworkers and out-of-town guests. We would never subject anyone that we care for to this level of confrontation and sarcasm with another person, especially someone in customer service.

MY REVIEW: I love the food at Aladdin's -- it truly is authentic Lebanese food. Speaking as an American born of Lebanese descent, I can say with confidence that their hummus is deliciously made, and tastes a lot like the hummus my mom makes. Lebanese hummus is lemony to taste, less liberal with the tahini. I also absolutely love the fresh bread and salads!
I would recommend the sandwiches, especially the shish kabob meat sandwich with hummus. The mashed potatoes with bread crumbs are very good as well.
If you want good, fresh, authentic Lebanese food, look for further. If you want a place to sit and get "waited on" American style, go somewhere else. Personally, I think the owner is very nice and accommodating, if not the most savvy when it comes to American style dining/customer service.

MY REVIEW: I love Aladdin- as a vegan, it's rare to find a restaurant with so many options, most of which are fresh, lemony, and delicious. I have to say I prefer all of the food (hummus included) here over La F*ndee, which to me was far too greasy- the only thing I liked better at the latter was the juice. I do admit the food quality varies slightly, but there were a few times the baba ghanoush was AMAZING, the best I've had in my life! The only thing they could improve for me is the dry falafel- Abd*llahs on Hilcroft is much much better. Otherwise, for less than $10 I can get two meals worth of fresh, yummy food with quite a variety to keep the taste buds interested!

MY REVIEW: The Chicken Shawarma sandwich is WONDERFUL. The meat is so flavorful and juicy and always without an ounce of fat. The squash is fresh and has incredible seasonings. I just moved right down the street and I'm so happy I found my new place for my Shawarma cravings! Not only is the food so tasty, but you can't beat the price and how fast it's ready. Definitely give it a try.

MY REVIEW: From what I have read, it appears the mixed reviews are based on the type of food ordered. I have never tried the hot vegetables so I can't comment on them, but they do not look appealing to me. However, the green and vegetable salads, hummos, babaganoush, and pita bread are all fresh and delightful.
Of the meat dishes, the roast chicken is to die for. The first time we went my wife got the lamb, and I got the chicken. The lamb was ok, but she really liked my chicken. Now we always get the roast chicken with a selection of cold vegetable dishes. You can't go wrong.

MY REVIEW: It was a Tuesday which i had court at noon, so i woke up a little earlier and decided to eat something new, a different type of food .I was on westhiemer heading towards downtown and i saw ALADDIN MEDITERRANEAN cuisine on westhiemer and montrose ,it was around 11:15 there was few people already been there.I was confused at the begining untill a big guy came with very charming smile offered me help.I had the most creamy hummos,a tastefull tabuli not too sour or salty neither saugy, just right.THe beef kabob is to die for very juicy but fully cooked .The most important thing to me isthe timing i was out there by 11:45 full, and ready to go. Honestly i fealt weird because i was in a rest which made me feel as if iam part of a different culture by all the wonderfull and facinating decore which was joined with relaxing music.15 mins later i was in court which i paid 300$ fine but still in a good mood because of ALADDIN.

MY REVIEW: I live in close proximity to Alladin. As a lebanese woman and self proclaimed expert on middle eastern cuisine, i must say that Alladin is a cut above other so called Lebanese retaurants in Houston. Most importantly, the salads are always fresh and are not left out to turn into mush. Though I do not particularly enjoy cafeteria style set-ups, the service was courteous and prompt. I like my food fast and fresh as I have very little time to return to work as a result of mind-bending traffic. This might not be the place for someone who wants the nuanced service of a sit-down/waitered establishment like the gentleman who left the post previous to the last guy. I would reccomend Alladin to anyone who enjoys seriously fresh Lebanese food and want it without all the pomp and circumstance. Oh yeah- they easily have THE most authentic Hummos in town. Anyone who knows REAL hummos, you know the kind actually made by a Lebanese with pride, will be pleasantly surprised. The only negative thing I can say about Alladin is they would do well to add a few new menu items every now and then.
