Italiano's Restaurant

MY REVIEW: I have been going to this restaurant for a long time (since it was R*oma's). The food is consistently great, and that is why we continue to come back. The knot rolls were usually free flowing, but on the past few visits, I felt like you only get a few with your meal, and that it. On this last visit, there were 2 of us, and they thew us into a 2 person table in the "over-flow" room, that was filled with large parties!! We felt out of place, since there was just 2 of us, not like we were in a restaurant. The waitress, was not very attentive, and we only received 4 rolls the entire time we were there, 2 wiht our salad and 2 with our dinner -- not nearly enough. We had asked for a small bowl of alfredo sauce, we were charged for it, but never received it. I was shocked at the menu's on the visit, mine had a large burn on it, and you couldn't read part of the menu!! Also, they had new bowls for the salad, which didn't matter much to me, they usually came out on a plate - but I was very shocked when my meal came out on a plastic plate!! I know they are probably doing that to save money, but I was very shocked, made the experience feel cheap, and not like dining out in a nice restaurant.

MY REVIEW: My in-laws took us here for a pre-anniversary dinner. This is their "go-to" Italian restaurant and probably would be mine too if we lived closer to Humble. As usual the food was excellent. I usually get the veal and spinach cannelloni but went for the classic version this time as I was in the mood for a good marina sauce.

Our waiter this time seemed overly rushed and a bit inexperienced with the wine service. We had barely sat down and opened the menus when he was there to get our drink and appetizer orders. We ordered a bottle of wine and four glasses. He brought the bottle out, had trouble opening it, and then proceeded to FILL all four glasses at once - basically emptying the entire bottle in a single pour. The glasses were so full that we had to take a couple of huge sips right away so the wine didn't slosh out when we cut into our appetizer (stuffed mushrooms - yum) due to the uneven table legs.

This isn't the first time the wine service here has been more miss than hit. I'm not expecting a full time wine steward at a place like this, but some basic training would go a long way.

Overall a great locally owned place that we'll continue to patronize!

MY REVIEW: I have lived in Houston for 2 years now. Being a first generation American from Croatia; I have traveled all over the US. It was my stepfather who trained me from an early age what is good and not so good Italian food. I really like Italiano's. From the European owner (Albania)to the friendly atmosphere, dining at Italiano's is always comfortable.

I personally like to order the mussels in butter and garlic (they are huge and delicious) with a caesar salad with calamari on top. But I have also tried a couple of the marsala dishes and they are excellent and have not been killed by too much salt (a common mistake). My wife usually loves the cannelloni or ravioli dishes. I would recommend this restaurant to others.

MY REVIEW: Pilots my husband works with always know the best eating spots in town and Italiano's is no exception. The ambiance is second only to the excellent food and lovely surroundings. The wait staff has been well-trained and most skillful at balancing the thin line between attentive service and meal interference. My personal favorite is the cannelloni and the desert cannolonis are homemade and the best we've had in Houston. (My Sicilian husband even loves this spot!)

MY REVIEW: Italianos is by far the BEST italian restaurant I have ever been to! The service is amazing and really makes you feel like you know everyone! The house salad dressing is my fav. I get a large amount to take home. I love it! I dont even know where to begin with the knot rolls.....AMAZING!!! I am definitly addicted to italiano's and will definitly keep going back! The food is superb, the service excellent, and the price affordable! Keep it up!

MY REVIEW: We make it a point to eat at Italiano's everytime we are in the Humble area, which living by Hobby Airport is not often enough! The veal and spinach cannelloni with artichoke hearts and cream sauce is my favorite dish, the flavors go together so well. The bread twists are always hot and fresh. The stuffed mushrooms are some of the best I have ever had!

The first time we ate here we were attending a birthday party for a large group in the private room. The service was excellent and there were no problems splitting the checks for a large group and everyone's order was correct and served together, no one had to wait while everyone else ate. We have since eaten there just the two of us and also ordered to go, the service has been awesome everytime!

MY REVIEW: We decided to celebrate Valentines Day at Italianos. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant and were told the wait would be about 35 minutes. We were pleasantly surprised when we were then seated within 5 minutes after that. We asked if there were any specials on this special night and were informed there were 3 items not on the menu, a crab cake appetizer, veal ossumbuco and a salmon dish. When we were told that Al, the owner, made the crab cakes and veal dish and they were awesome. We took the waitress' advice and tried these two. She was absolutely right--they were wonderful.

MY REVIEW: I recently hosted a private dinner party here and they exceeded my expectations. The private dining room was intimate and arranged just as we discussed. They provided candles, matches, knives, and plates for a cake that we brought in and they served it. All of the food was served in a timely manner and tasted good. The party was approximately 30 people paying seperately. None of the tickets and orders were messed up and the paying process went very smoothly. We were in and out within 3 hours, but were never rushed. I would recommend this restaurant for your next event.

MY REVIEW: Italiano's is so far above O*live Garden and H*asta la Pasta that they should not be mentioned in the same breathe.

The food is superb and the prices are reasonable. I've had the Chicken Marsala--my fellow eating companions and I thought it was delicious--definitely NOT boiled chicken and watery sauce as stated by a previous reviewer. Did you mention your displeasure to your wait person? I've had a dish that was too salty and they've corrected the dish---and with a SMILE. They are definitely customer oriented. The whole package of what makes up Italiano's is great. Everyone that we've taken to Italiano's has loved it.

MY REVIEW: My family and friends, have eaten here, countless times. From the Cannelloni to the Shrimp Scampi, it is always fresh, flavorable and served promptly.

We have had several parties in the party room and they can accomodate from a small to a large party. Just found this website and had to rave about our favorite Italian restaurant, ever!

MY REVIEW: After hearing so many good things about the restaurant, I was very disappointed. The knot rolls were good. The salad was nothing special. My husband and I both ordered the chicken marsala. The chicken was plain boiled chicken breast with no flavor. The sauce was really watery. The side of pasta was tastier than the main dish. I could not finish the meal. I will not be back.

MY REVIEW: Very good Italian food I actually actually dcided to try Italianos based on these reviews and its worth every penny. Now me and wife and kids go at least 2-3 times a month and get the Extra Large Pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese. Delicious. I highly recomed it to any one looking for a good meal and at a very good price and a great atmosphere very attentive service.

MY REVIEW: Our absolute FAVORITE Italian place - anywhere in the country. We have been coming since the place opened when it was just 1/2 the size of what it is now. We eat here at least every month and we have NEVER, EVER had a bad meal. We recommend this place to everyone and when we have out of town visitors our first stop is Italiano's. MY REVIEW: This restaurant is so great! Each time I've been, the servers have all been attentive and friendly even though the place was packed with huge parties by us. The knot rolls are the absolute BEST you'll ever have anywhere, hands down. Beware though, you might end up getting full off their bread before your meal comes because it's so addictive!

MY REVIEW: Tonight, we picked-up our order. You just can't beat this food, the service or the fact that the owners are always there WORKING with the wait staff and kitchen crew.

Best Waiter - SCOTT, a long timer. Best Dish - havn't had them all but I'm working on it.
