MY REVIEW: My fiance and I ate here last week w/ another couple. The place is small but ambiance is very nice. We got there during happy hour time & ordered two Crazy Rolls, a Houston Roll, and a Rock' Roll, a few single sushi pieces, miso soup, seaweed salad, and a house salad. Even the prices for items not on the happy hour list are affordable. Everything was delicious, sushi was fresh, service good. I plan to make this my sushi place to go to when I'm in the area & glad our friends introduced us to Hiro's

MY REVIEW: We were recommended by a family member to try Hiro. So we decided to give them a try for dinner on a Thursday evening.
The place is small but decorated well. We sat at the sushi bar. The waitress gave us the Happy Hour menu which we were pleased to use. My husband ordered 3 rolls of the HH menu and I ordered a Cali roll and a Shaggy Dog roll of their regular menu. We also ordered two seaweed salads and one miso soup. All were delicious! Presentation was really nice.
We definitely will be back and hope they can get more business driven their way. Prices are really good. We spent $43 for all that we ate. Too bad they aren't easily seen from Hwy. 6. Definitely recommend this place.

MY REVIEW: I love coming to Hiro's. I often go to the other sushi places around the area, but I always come back here. I feel at home here and know that I am always getting quality fish. Hiro san is very friendly and welcoming and a pleasure to talk to. Plus, there is always a variety of sushi selection to choose from. The masago is fresh and although I enjoy a quail egg to go on top, that is sometimes not available. The tuna, yellowtail, escala, albacacore, clam and others are always excellent. There is some turnover in staff quite frequently, but lately the waitstaff situation appears to be stable. I would reccomend Hiro's as a great place to go in the Woodlands.

MY REVIEW: Hiro's is one of the best Japanese restauratns in the Houston area. The sushi is generally superb, there is an occasional piece that is average. The Calfifornia rolls, freshwater eel, miso soup and his house salad are always exceptional.
From the kitchen the tempura is crunchy without being oily. the other dishes are prepared with care.
Service is not as good as the food. It can be disorganized at times.

MY REVIEW: This is the best Sushi in the Woodlands!!! Most of the other places are not Japanese owned, but this is the real deal. Best California role around and the Spicy Scallop is the Bomb! And that's a fact Jack!! Ooooh, Ooooh!!

MY REVIEW: I stopped going there after they stopped carrying zaru soba.
The seafood is edible, but most of its flavor has been killed by freezing.
The prices are expensive. ($16 for sashimi.) You'd save money going into Houston, and get much better quality.
Food selection is limited and somewhat Americanized. No zaru soba anymore; no kani zosui; no clam; no red snapper; no toro.
The service is okay, but slow because of limited staff. You're discouraged from ordering sushi directly at the bar -- everything must be entered into a computer by the waitstaff.
Drinks are not refilled as often as they should be.
Waitstaff get confused if you don't do exactly what they expect, such as always ordering lunch or dinner specials. Hiro-san has to step in and handle it.
Hiro-san is a nice guy, but something isn't quite right about the restaurant. Maybe in another location it would be much better. In the Woodlands, the food and service suffer because of cost pressures and low volume on some food items.
I tried to like it, and tried to give it a chance, but now I am not willing to go there anymore because quality and selection is limited, and price is high. I'll drive to Houston (G*nza) instead.

MY REVIEW: Excellent:
Small out of the way location, with quaint atmosphere, excellent service and food quality. People are friendly and professional. Very good catapiller roll.
