MY REVIEW: After a recent dinner at the Royal with friends, I went back solo at lunchtime to sample more of the menu items. As it was just me, I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala. It took forever to come out but it was worth the wait. A little bit greasy but it packed the right combination of spices. They could have added a bit more chicken too but for the price (like $7.95) is was a decent deal. A side order of rice was $3.00 and it was spectacular. Combined, it was easily enough for several meals.

The folks behind the counter are very accomodating and helpful so they're good for recomendations and suggestions bepending on your interests. Definitely worth the drive. Probably one of the more authentic Indian resaturants in town.

MY REVIEW: After seeing the very positive review in the Houston Press, we decided to check it out on a recent Saturday night. Even though we stuck out like a couple of gringos from West U, the wait staff was very accomodating and they walked us through the menu. Ultimately, we asked for recommendations so we ended up with a selection of items.

I can't tell you all of what we had but all of it was terrific. Prices are extremely reasonable and food was flavorful. It's definitely worth checking out if you want really authentic and no frills Indian food. Not fancy but certainly it's the real deal.

MY REVIEW: Strong Points: First time here and I have to say....AWSOME!! The Karahi goat was extremely tender and well seasoned and full of flavor. The Chicken Makhani had a rich coconut (but not too powerful), butter and chili flavor. Good enough where I stopped next door and will attempt to make at home. The flavors were all subtle and not too overspiced in any one direction. All flavors balanced VERY well and complimented one another. The price at 6.99-8.99 for these dishes was reasonable and well worth a second visit!!

MY REVIEW: My friends and I love this place.

The palak goat and palak paneer are wonderful. The goat biriyani is wonderful. We have had another goat dish (maybe dawa? can't recall) and it was wonderful too. Try the goat dishes :)

Decor is minimal but comfortable. The dining room is split with one side for "families". I think that means folks with children belong on that side of the room but I could be wrong.

Service was very friendly and the big screen bollywood movies add a slightly surreal touch. I love this place!!

MY REVIEW: Absolutely amazing and fabulous food. The Veg pulav is extremely tasty. I guess it tastes just like Biryani. You would be extremely lucky to get their chicken biryani at night, it is always sold out. The restaurant is open till 12 in the night so it is good for someone who has had a late night urge to eat indian.

Strong Points: Food
Weak Points: Chicken Biryani does not last long.
Specialities: Everything
Entrees: Around $6/dish
Desserts: Dont know.
Ambience: Typical dhaba type.

MY REVIEW: I love the food here because it has not been diluted like some other so-called Indian restaurants. If you love spicy, authentic Indian food then you should definitely try this place. The atmosphere may not be what you're looking for, so you can get it to go as well. My personal favorites are the Kadai Gosht (a spicy mutton dish in a brown gravy) and the Chicken Tikka (a superbly juicy and well cooked piece of chicken), and to drink the Mango Shake is awesome. Their kababs are also great and you won't be disappointed by anything on their menu. This is the restaurant I take all my friends to whenever they say they want to try REAL Indian food.

MY REVIEW: I am a frequent diner of this superb indo-pakistani restaurant. They serve buffet from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm daily. For $6.99+, you cant't beat the the delicious selection they offer. Quite on the spicy side, however goooood...Great choices of chicken, beef, goat and vegetables.
