Live Oak Grill

MY REVIEW: Thumbs up: Chicken fried chicken, seafood platter, tortilla soup, green beans, and most of their sides are yummy. The prices are pretty decent for their entrees and I like how they have an Atkins plate (choice of beef or chicken with salad and green beans). Just check out their menu on the website and you can see the variety. Self service with fountain drinks, utensils, and condiments = no need to leave tip.

Thumbs down: Annoying fruit flies buzzing around your meal. I get the Southern theme with the red barn and lone star flag painted on the rooftop, but I was highly agitated with the fruit flies invasion. Hope they can fix this problem b/c I don't even know if this is a health violation or not.

Overall, I love their food b/c it's fresh and the rest of my family's entrees were pretty good too. The service was fast and convenient. Will def. come back with family, but I might opt for carry out, if the fruit flies are still around.

MY REVIEW: All I can say is WOW! I honestly had the best grilled chicken sandwich I've ever eaten! The char taste was present but not overpowering. The egg bun was soft and fresh, the chipotle mayo was incredible! The fries were wonderful as well. Fresh, hot, crispy and salted perfectly! My friend had catfish that she let me taste and it was light and fresh and delicious. Sweet, friendly ladies behind the counter made the visit completely perfect! I've only been there once but already planning many return trips.

MY REVIEW: Fast friendly service we had chicken fried steak, grilled pork chops with green beans and smashed taters plus a Rib Eye sandwich and tex mex burger with onion rings and cole slaw. Everything was great with large porpotions. Four people, two teas and two beers, $50,06,...You can't beat that and we brought some home to Dawg.

MY REVIEW: This place is awesome! I work across the street and know that if I want to get lunch at Live Oak, I have to get there by 11 or else I'll be waiting. That tells me a lot about a restaurant. The chicken fried steak is the best, and I really like the hamburgers. The onion rings are fantastic. Good clean environment.

MY REVIEW: First visit. Great staff, great grilled chicken salad. Place was clean and employees were very helpful, friendly and great to talk to. will make this a regular lunch stop.

MY REVIEW: Best chicken fried steak, best burgers, best fries, best fried shrimp! All of their fried food is crispy and not too oily. Crisp french fries that don't fold in half when you pick one up! The fried shrimp is a bargain at 7.99 and beats all of the seafood restaurants in the area for size, freshness and taste. You just can't beat the Live Oak Grill!

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit. Just happened on it while looking for something else. Boy am I glad we did! Me and the other two in our party had the chicken fried chicken and it was the best ever. The mash potatoes, onion rings and grilled vegtables were also fantastic. I have been trying to get back ever since. We on Memorial Day, but they were closed...and my heart was really set on that chicken fried chicken. I have been telling all my family and co-workers about this "best kept secret" or at least it was for me. In addition to the great food, the service and atmosphere was top notch. I highly recommend Live Oak Grill.

MY REVIEW: Our family eats here at least every other week to once a month depending on our schedule.The food is fabulous.We do have our favorites which are the grilled snapper,grilled chicken and pork chops.The flavor is unbelievable.When we are in the mood for the fried stuff we get the chicken fried steak or chicken.And not to mention some awesome green beans and mashed potato's.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere for kids as well. There is a play area outside and the kids meals are great.The kids have a choice of fries, yogurt,or a fruit cup as a side. My youngest sons favorite is the macaroni and cheese with sliced hot dogs in it.My oldest son just skips the main meal so he can get a big basket of chili cheese fries.For dessert we usually share some homeade bannana pudding(yummy)! It really doesn't matter what you order because you will be satisfied everytime you go.

MY REVIEW: This place is as good as it gets for burgers, etc. The fried shrimp and grilled seafood are better than at up-scale Houston restaurants we have visited. You can not go wrong here. We eat here at least 1/week. We have done this for the last several months. That speaks for itself.

MY REVIEW: Live Oak is great. I started going when it had just opened. I meet friends there and when the weather is nice we sit outside. Nobody ever rushes us off. The food is terrific and entire staff is friendly and Bob & Donna can't be beat. My favorite is a special they make for me - Pork Chop salad. Their pork chops can't be beat.Also old fashioned wonderful Onion Rings.

Besides it being Texas friendly with good food, the music on the Juke Box is priceless.

MY REVIEW: "Awesome chicken fried steak, green beans and mashed potatoes!!!!"

I haven't gone past that yet, but I've tried bits and pieces of other menu items from friends' plates and are great too but not better than the chicken fried steak. I come here at least 4-6 times a month for lunch. Having a friendly staff, great service and clean environment is a big plus in my book! For those who haven't tried Live Oak Grill, take a chance, you'll be pleased! I promise!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I and a friend of ours have eaten here an average of about 1/week the last 9 months or so. When we go at lunch, my wife and I usually split a burger, and they do it at no charge. The onion rings are the best I have ever tasted, and the Mexican chocolate cake is absolutely delicious. For supper we will normally order an entree. I haven't got past the shrimp, but our friend vouches for the others.

MY REVIEW: My family loves this place. The staff are very friendly. The burgers, fries, and onion rings are THE BEST! We've had the various fish, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. All are wonderful. There are plenty of items for the kids, too. It's such a warm and friendly atmosphere. You'll want to keep going back for more!
