MY REVIEW: Food: Came to try their Peking Duck. It was wonderful - crispy skin, nice and warm. Served the whole duck (no soup, but that's okay - meaty bones: leg/thigh and wing drums!). I prefer buns over wraps, so this was an extra bonus. Hint: order their extra buns at the start (5 for 2.50, or was that 2?). As good/better than others listed in "Top 5 Peking ducks in Houston" (Google it) - we had #1 last week. Nice buns, but less duck by 30-40%. Much less expensive, too. Better than PD in NYC last month at "famous" restaurant where they carve it at the table. Other dishes were also good - shrimp w. mixed veg and best fried shrimp balls I've ever had (for the daughter). Venison satay appeared to be a stir fry - not on sticks - maybe they meant "sauted"? Anyway, we ate it all!
The decor was not bad, sparse and clean. No carpet, so older review about smelly carpet is wrong. Bathroom was standard public restroom with no smell; I had no problem letting my son use the urinal or sink on his own. Wait staff was friendly but not very conversant in English.
Ambiance is "small family run restaurant in Chinatown" - some nice little framed paintings, gold on red picture frame scenes, and big tank of bright orange fish in aquarium. All the tables are family style with the big, old lazy susan in the middle. Plastic table cloths and paper napkins. Black chopsticks were clean for us, but the son got take out sitcks for better traction. Good service refilling the waters and hot tea.
We will definitely come back for PD again.

MY REVIEW: Chairs and table sticky, carpet extremely old, smelly, service simply tired and unmotivated, food (if where I sat was so dirty I cannot imagine the kitchen).

MY REVIEW: I went to this place trying to enjoy cantonese lobster and to my surprise I was served maybe half the lobster. I ask the server if this dish was supposed to be half or a full lobster. When she replied one full lobster I asked for the owner. Then I asked him to take a look at my dish and answer where was the tail and the claws? He said it was the way chinese cut the lobster and after cooking it gets small. He answered me with all his hard face as if i had never had or seen a lobster. I took a picture of what supposedly was the tail. I felt so insulted for his answers to avoid any more violence I finished my food and decided would never get my business again. When he brought the bill owner indicated me cook told him it was small lobster and instead of $24 he was going to charge $17.

MY REVIEW: We will not come back to this place again. We were seated but no waiters/waitresses or even the owner came to our table to take our orders for drinks or food so we left the restaurant. We waited more than half an hour and it was a party of 6.

MY REVIEW: Around Chinatown, This is hands down the best place for peking duck, skin glistening and crispy with chinese ban bao (white open face bread)which is use to put the duck pieces with sliced cucumbers and onions into with a dollop of brown duck sauce, like a taco. Awesome, best to dine in because duck will be cold by the time it gets to your home.

MY REVIEW: I love this place very much. Waitresses are very friendly and the owner walks around to make sure that the food serves on time and explains to customers how to eat properly with chopsticks, mix sauces...
Besides, the decoration is very elegant and warm atmosphere... Try and you will love this place.

MY REVIEW: This Chinese & Vietnamese restaurant is delicious. Tenya, a Vietnamese friend of mine, recommended me to come to this restaurant. She would make the trip from Tomball to eat here in what she claims is the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant. After hearing this, I decided to try it out especially since it's so close to me -- in Bellaire Chinatown.
The table-clothed tables all are round with those rotating plate in the middle. The restaurant seemed to be very utilitarian -- simple and plain. Even one of the waitress wasn't very nice (but another waitress came by and saved the day with her generosity).
When we placed the order for appetizers, we ordered the shrimp spring rolls. They were thicker than normal and were very good. We also had wonton soup with vegetables (they may have added them when we asked if it had vegetables) and they were also very good -- and it had beef too. It was one of the most flavorful wonton soup I've had in a long while.
We ordered walnut chicken, spicy scallops, and pan-fried vermicelli. They were all delicious, especially the walnut chicken. The scallops were good also, but I thought it could be a little bit more flavorful. Considering the quality of the rest of the food, I would give the scallops another try -- but since the menu is so large, I probably would try something else the next time I go.
They only had jasmine tea, not oolong tea (which is something I normally get) but that's ok. The jasmine tea was good nevertheless.
Also, the fortune cookie was stale. But I'm not going to complain about it since it's supposed to be a complimentary treat and it's not something they make at the premises.
The price was good for the quality and the portions of the food.
Generally, what they make is very good, and it's a great addition to Bellaire's Chinatown.
