Ah! Lasagna Cafe & Cappucino Bar (CLOSED)

1221 Eldridge Rd Sugar Land TX

MY REVIEW: After reading the reviews, I was expecting a full service restaurant and found not a fast food place. No salad included and served on paper plates with plastic spoons. This might be great for carry out or a quick snack but it is not a full service lunch.

MY REVIEW: Went there today for lunch after seeing an ad. Walked in and had nice subtle music playing in the background. Ordered the Lasagna and Garlic Bread. I have eaten at several "Authentic" Italian eateries before. When my food came the portions looked fine for the price. I was a little perplexed by the looks of the food though. Typically when I get garlic bread it is drowned and soaked in garlic and butter, also the Lasagna typically is smothered in cheese and swimming in grease. Not here though. I then remembered the many episodes of "EveryDay Italian" I had watched on Food Network. "Authentic" Italian food uses cheese as an accent more than a main ingredient. Also the dry cheeses are used more than what the "Americanized" Itlaian food uses. Also oils are used instead of butter. What this all translates to is a Garlic Bread that was very flavorful but not overbearing of garlic and soggy. A lasagna that was very flavorful and did not give me indigestion from the grease. When I was finished gorging myself I felt very full but not so lethargic fromt the grease as a typically would have had I eaten the "Americanized" Italian that I had become accustomed to. Very refreshing and unlike anything I have ever eaten. I will return again soon.

MY REVIEW: The pizza is the best I have ever had. In fact, I did not even like pizza until I tried theirs! Their crust and special Italian seasonings are addictive and I buy two slices several times a week.

Oh, did I mention the home made brownies??? They do not scrimp on the quality of the ingredients and if you like chocolate, then this is the dessert for you! The brownies are absolutely habit forming. They sell out of them nearly every day, so if this is your favorite dessert, you need to come early!

This cozy restaurant has it all - delicioous homemade Italian food, friendly management that remembers your name and a pleasant dining experience that will cause you to come back time and time again. (I know, I have been one of their customers since they opened!)

MY REVIEW: The aroma leads you into an atmosphere reminiscent of the Mom and Pop restaurants of Boston. You are greeted with a smile and great service. Then comes the food. Pizza by the slice along with an espresso takes the edge off the day. Take out is next so I can share the experience with my wife. the only thing she misses is the political discussions. Fortunately we are on the same side. I love the small grocery that begs you to purchase items that you can add to your gourmet pantry when you get home. Ah! Lasagna, "Everybody does know my name."

MY REVIEW: Both their lasagna & garlic bread is as good as I have ever had. Absolutely delicious! The rest of the food - and desserts - are delicious as well. As much fun as it is to eat there, I love to get it to go, take it home and eat with the family. Best of both worlds. If you haven't eaten here yet, now is the time.

MY REVIEW: I had to stop in and get my LARGE lasagna while my daughter insists on the Alfredo. The new pizza is a MUST for the pizza lovers out there, which is my son's favorite!!!! We visit once a week for our "fix" of incredible cruisine. My clients ask for "Ah! Lasagna" by name when I cater lunches. "Don't forget the cannolis" or the Lemon Bars, the Cheese Cake, you name it you will not be disappointed.

MY REVIEW: The restaurant was clean, food was fresh and delicious. The meatballs get very high ratings (though my Grandma Petitto's are still better)! The only real disappointment was portion size. Lasagna was rather small for the price charged. Suggest they either lower the prices slightly or increase the quantity of their individual servings!

Owners are friendly and appeared happy to please their clients.
This is a must try restaurant.

MY REVIEW: Unfortunately, I don't eat pork, so their pastas are off-limits for me. However, this lady makes an incredible mocha frappe. I love it and will continue to visit for this yummy treat.

MY REVIEW: As I read over the reviews left by others, I am smiling the same "perma grin" that I smiled all the way home. And that was before I ate my food. Steve and Janice (is that their names?) are the nicest people. I stood talking to them as if we were longtime friends or family as I waited for my to go order. I am blessed to have met them and I will be a regular customer, hoping to be adopted into their family. The food is delicious! Especially the Chocolate Chip Coconut Macaroons. Yum yum!

MY REVIEW: Absolutely wonderful Italian food! Everything I have tried has been incredibly delicious. I especially love the Lasagna and ooohhh! the garlic bread! Whether you stop by for one or have a meal catered for many, the food is always so fresh, hot and tasty. With the superior cooking and warm, friendly service that Steve and Janice provide they are sure to be around for a long time, but if you haven't visited yet, don't wait to stop in or call to try their amazing delicacies, from the garlic bread to the sandwiches to the entrees to the desserts, you'll love it!

MY REVIEW: I saw the sign "Ah Lasagna" and said to myself, "I have to stop there". I had no idea what kind of treat I was in for. As soon as I walked in I could tell that I was in for a great experience. The owners were so very nice and the smell of food was enough to make my mouth water right there at the front counter. I was going to have lasagna but I was torn between that and the pizza sandwich. A nice customer talked me into the sandwich. I could not have been more pleased with what I ate. I topped it off with a "blow my mind" ameretto(sp) cookie. I can't wait to go back and have the Lasagna, the spaghetti, and the meatball sandwich. Come on dinner time!!!!!

MY REVIEW: All I can say is, THE FOOD IS GRAND!!! I cater with Steve and Janice 2-4 times a month, I have clients ask for their food on a regular basis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They can't get ENOUGH. I love the cheese cake, lemon bars are my favorite. The lasagna is wonderful!!! What else do you want to know???? They "make you an offer you can't refuse."

MY REVIEW: Great restaurant! The atmosphere is nice and friendly. The food was awesome and the portions were generous. I heard there was a write up about how good their garlic bread is, and it is that plus more. We had the spaghetti pasta (or penne pasta) and the alfredo pasta. It was the best ever! Also, ask about the coconut cookie candy.

MY REVIEW: How I love thee Ah! Lasagna. Let me count the ways I love thee. One, you have amazing Garlic Bread. Two, your have excellent friendly service. Three, you have a dashingly good looking server. Four, the cannolis are to die for literely. I even dreamed about cannolis that night. Five, you fill me up with warm Italian goodness. They are big portians.

MY REVIEW: If you like great homemade Italian food, you will love Ah! Lasagna! The restaurant is cozy, inviting, and relaxing.

The food is very fresh, priced right, and delicious. I especially love the lasagna, the garlic bread and salad. The desserts are wonderful and "can become addictive!"

The owners, Janice and Steve, are warm, friendly people who will make you feel welcome and like an old friend. They both have a great sense of humor and provide excellent service with a smile.

Go to Ah! Lasagna to enjoy good food, a warm atmosphere, and friendly owners. You will love your dining experience here!

MY REVIEW: It's a cute and quaint place where the owners will laugh and chat with you as you wait. I'm a vegetarian, so I haven't had the lasagna or meatballs everyone talks about. But I will tell you the one thing that I DO go back for often is that UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS GARLIC BREAD! I've never, ever tasted anything like it. That's gotta be a secret family recipe or something. On the way home from work, I'll stop by and get some garlic bread to go with the meals I prepare at home. My 2 year old loves it. I wish them much success.

MY REVIEW: I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!!! There isn't anything I've tried that I didn't like! They have the BEST Cheesecake I've ever had. The lasagna is fabulous!! Steve and Janice (owners) are very friendly, they cook all the food themselves, and you can't beat the price!

MY REVIEW: I agree that the lemon square is very good, purely homemade good. I love their garlic bread, it is hard to find garlic bread this good. I am addicted to it. For people who haven't been there, I strongly recommend their garlic bread. It'll make you go back there again and again.

MY REVIEW: I really like this place, it's small and cozy. My office is not far from this restaurant so I eat there quite often. I love their service. The owners are very nice. The lady makes most of the desserts herself. Try lemon square, it is heavenly good, cheesecake is worth to try too. Their lasagna certainly is the best entree. They only have one kind of salad, but it's always fresh. I just love this place.

MY REVIEW: Anyone who gives this place a bad rating deserves a nice hard kick in the butt! The owners were very nice! I asked the lady what she would recommend and she said the meatball sub was very good. At first I was expecting that since it is her place but after i tried it I realized she was right! That was the BEST meatball sub I have ever had. I am full with still half of it left.

MY REVIEW: I enjoy all the food at ah! Lasagna, but I have to say, that the meatball sandwich is the BOMB-DIGGITY! As for the owners, they couldn't be any cooler. It truly is the warm environment that is so very enticing.

MY REVIEW: A very nice place. Family owned and operated, it is very clean and homey. This place is not trying to be all things to all people. They have concentrated on preparing a limited menu VERY well. I had the Lasagna (well duh...). It was excellent. The garlic bread is awsome.

Steve made a point of dropping by the table to chat. This simply won't happen in more impersonal restuants. All-in-all, a very enjoyable lunch.
