MY REVIEW: I was surprised by the number of bad reviews. The Chicken Tenders and Banana's Foster bread pudding are great. Our service was excellent (especially considering that it was packed). We had a great table even though we didn't have any reservations. I would recommend it to anyone. It is an upscale sports bar so go with that in mind. It's not a 5 star restaurant.

MY REVIEW: My least favourite restaurant during our visit to Houston. It was sensory overload for me with the noise, so many tv's. I know it is a sports bar, but I was not impressed. The food was mediocre, service only okay.

MY REVIEW: We stopped by the place because they have Bass Ale on tap. Definitely a plus. My wife ordered a pecan/bluecheese/pear salad. DISAPPOINTMENT!! When the salad arrived, it had 2 small irregular shaped pieces of pear, 4 cranberries, 2 pecans and an extremely light (barely visible) dusting of blue cheese crumbles. Our bar tender, noticed that we were not happy with the salad and asked what was wrong. She promptly brought out more pear and pecans. The dressing, served on the side as we requested, tasted like the oil in it was rancid. When the manager passed by, my wife stopped him and explained that the kitchen needs to pay more attention to the food prep. He said "Thank you" for the feedback and said that he would inform the chef of the problem. When we got back to our hotel, we decided to look at this web site and found that we should have looked here before going to the Fox Sports Grill.

MY REVIEW: Took a date for the Rockets playoff game. Reservation was made and honored, however we got a really CRAPPY table seat instead of booth. The Salmon I ordered was decent, her burger seemed alright. Halftime we were ready to jet to C*heesecake Factory for dessert, (as we had not seen our waiter in an hour and wanted something sweet). HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE. But as the waitress never showed up, simply added in our heads the total for the bill, put the cash on the table and left. Very sad, could not even get the bill. They need to hire more staff, especially when the place is packed!

MY REVIEW: Terrible experience. We went for a game. It started bad wen they were out of olives. Can you imagine, out of olives? But we were there for a game which had started, so it was togh to leave.

We ordered food and it was served cold. They zapped it in the microwave. It was chili cheese fries, they aee nasty zapped. The table in front of us had dirty dishes on it for at least a half hour.

I emailed the manager after and got no response. So I emailed their home office on 3 occasions. They also didn't respond. Guess where I didn't watch the Super Bowl.

MY REVIEW: It's an awesome place!! we went for lunch on thursday, loved the ambiance although the bartender -tina- was somewhat rude and didn't care much for her guests as much as she did when her coworkers walked by and just stayed there and chat like they were just hanging out. the hostess was great thought! a pretty hispanic girl, she was nice, smiling all the time, knew what she was doing, thanked us when we left, she saved the experiene. I'll keep going as long as there's a smily face in the place, and great food of course.

MY REVIEW: Was drawn into this Galleria establishment by the outdoor firepit and laser blue sign on a Tuesday night. There was barely 30 people in the restaurant but we only saw our server twice. Once to take our order and then to collect our check. Another server brought the food. It appeared the servers hovered by the bar to socialize...along with the manager. Was charged 20 dollars for a mexican martini (tequila instead of vodka). I've been a bartender and have visisted some of the most posh bars in Boston...this is the most expensive beverage I've ever paid for. My salad was actually tasty, however; the service totally stunk. I attempted to explain my issues to the manager who was more interested in trouble shooting a satellite outage. They returned my check minus my credit card which required me going to the manager again. Stood beside him for five minutes before being acknowledged. I contacted corporate and they were extremely apologetic and provided gift certificates. That is the only reason I returned...to use the certificates. The service was better but that first experience has ruined it for me. Funny that with the competition in the area (the C*heesecake Factory) that the service/management would need so much help. Lots of potential...plasma screens/waterfalls...but the wayyy too pricey for the quality of food/drinks. I would stay away.

MY REVIEW: I had a really great experience at the Fox Sports Grill. It was a very busy evening due to The Rose Bowl and there were tons of UT people (although I am a USC fan) and everyone seemed to be having a really good time. The host that sat us was very pleasant, our server was helpful and attentive, and the food was surprisingly much better than most other sports bars I'm used to. Our drinks did take about 10 minutes to come to the table but was understandable due to the high volume of the restaurant. My friends and I had a great time (even though our team lost) and will be returning again.

MY REVIEW: This place is horrible. Bad service, mediocre food, and poor treatment of loyal customers. The TV's are nice, but not worth the hassle of being overcharged for drinks and food. Me and nine other friends had been going to the Fox Sports Grill for every UT football game this season because the Texas Exes alumni chose this place as our designated hangout. Despite the slow service, the fact that they ran out of bottled beer during the TX-Ohio State game, and the declining quality of the food, we came here because we could arrive early and reserve a table for our large party, and the TV's and Furniture are very nice. Overall, we dropped around $1200.00 at this establishment.

Everything changed on the day of the Texas/Texas Tech game because they no longer allowed incomplete parties to reserve tables. The manager refused to let me and four of my friends set up our table, even though we had been doing this for the past 8 weeks. It was frustrating because there were several empty tables that could have accomodated us, but because we were an incomplete party, we could not sit at those empty tables. Kind of strange for a restaraunt to be so protective of their empty tables.

Anyways, suffice to say we never went back. We were loyal customers, but now I have banned this place.

As for the food, at first it seemed good. They had this mini burger appetizer that I liked. But the last few times I ordered it, the bread was stale and they didn't bring any condiments. I had the prime rib a couple times. It was decent, but overpriced. The Drinks are way too expensive. 6 dollars for a Flat Tire Beer.

The manager also had the great idea to bring in 24 Hour Fitness guys to harass people at their tables for memberships.

I did notice that each time we went, it was less and less crowded. I am sure the word has spread about Fox Sports Grill, especially after the terrible review they got in the Houston Press. The sad part is that its actually a nice place with good ambiance and impressive televisions. But the horrible service, mediocre food, expensive prices and poor treatment of loyal customers drove me away for good.

MY REVIEW: I don't know what one of the last posters was talking about because I found the prices extremely reasonable. But I did have a problem with the waiter. I was going to have an alcoholic drink but could not make up my mind... I asked to have more time and he seemed to take it personally! After what seemed like quite a while, he came back to get our drink orders, by now I just decided to have an iced tea. He wasn't pleased. When he finally came back to take our food orders, I ordered a salad and my tablemate had a sandwich... they were both mediocre to say the least. The decor was not much better. I expected to be more upscale, come on it's in the Galleria!! It hasn't even been open that long and the seats in the booths are ripped. I will not return.

MY REVIEW: I visted Fox today for the UT vs A&M game. I was very impressed. The staff was polite and attentive. I was impressed with the food and the drinks. The crowd was heavy but in my opinion well taken care of. I will make sure I return to Fox in the future.

MY REVIEW: Nice looking place, but WAY OVERPRICED. I went with my wife and a friend of hers, and we each had a couple drinks and dinner....our check was $125.00!! They drank Belvedere martinis which were small (not even in martini glasses) and we were shocked to see that they were $11 each! Food was ok but nothing special, once again not worth the price. If they keep these prices then Fox Sports Grill isn't going to last very long. Sad...it really is a nice place and would be a good spot to watch some games, but there are just so many better alternatives for food/drink in the area.

MY REVIEW: I enjoyed my time here. My girlfriend and I were in the galleria and we saw a sign that said something like "This way to Fox Sports Grill" so we figured we would try it out. We didnt eat here though, we just went to the bar. A major weak point was the prices. I got a draft Miller Lite and it was (if I remember correctly) about $3.50. She got a Dr. Pepper and I think it was around $2.00. If the drinks were that high priced I cant imagine what the food prices must be. Still, the overall setup of the place was comfortable, although it seemed more like a night club than a sports bar. But with the huge plasma TV screens on the walls above the bar, it made up for the price of our drinks. Overall, we enjoyed it, as it was a good place to rest after walking around the Galleria all day.

MY REVIEW: I visited on a some what busy night. My server was Joey. He was very personal and made my visit one to remember. He suggested to me a few items to try and I took his advice and tried the Grilled Salmon. The food was great and so where the drinks. I must say it was a little loud with the music but over all I enjoyed myself.

MY REVIEW: went there to watch the rockets game today. i had the WORST service ever!! and i am a server myself so im usually pretty understanding. but in the end it was too much. it was game 5 of the series so of course it was crowded. we waited and were sat at the wine room. they said we will have to wait for service if we decide to sit now because they were at maximum capacity. well we sat and waited. The waiter took our drinks but never came back with it. we ended up going to the bar to get the drinks ourselves. then the manager of the area and waiter walked by us many times, ignoring us. after waiting for 40min, (not kidding at all), we had to flag them down to get our orders in. we can wait, but we cant tolerate not being acknowledged at all, when clearly, the table who sat after us got their drinks AND food. everytime we needed something we had to wave like crazy. no one was apologetic or even checked up on us. i got up to the bar to get my own lemon and sugar for my tea. i ordered spicy orange chicken n it came out cold. they had to microwave it. my boyfriends lobster ravioli was a snack. we werent full at all when we finished. then after the game they brought our check n never came back to get the credit card. we tried to flag down the manager but he was on the phone. he acknowledged us but after he finished talking he walked away. again we got up n gave the waiter our card. well I had never been that angry with any restaurant before. but now, i will NEVER, EVER, go back. horrible service. waiter was giving us attitude and no smile. DONT EVER GO DURING GAME TIME, OR YOU WILL SERVE YOURSELF!

MY REVIEW: AVOID THIS PLACE!! We decided to eat here even after I was warned that the service is slow and food is over priced. Well it was a huge!!!MISTAKE. There wasn't a table available and the Hostess suggested we eat @ the bar even though it was packed. well we decided to wait for a table and that was another huge mistake. The waiter showed up as soon as we sat down and we hadn't had a chance to read the menu so we ordered drinks..........we'll 15 minutes later our drinks and waiter had disappeared to another table and didn't bother to return so another waiter shows up with our drinks and 15 minutes later the waiter still wasn't around so we left and not one word was spoken to us as we walked out the door. Dont waste your time

MY REVIEW: We too were hungry at the Galleria and the "sidewalk" part jutting out looked inviting and not real crowded. We ended up eating in the dining area. Prices seem a couple of bucks high but what isn't in the Galleria? Food was fine, servings were a healthy size (ribs, hamburgers, very big wedge salad). Didn't have drinks. Service was spotty in the dining area but afterwards we moved to the large bar area where service was much more attentive. Tables here are also wide spaced with a spacious feeling and views of a dozen or more tv screens. Noise level wasn't too bad and they had a wing special that we'd have grabbed if we weren't stuffed. Outside on the Westheimer side are tables with a rock fireplace that was roaring which looked like it would be fun at nighttime. I had a good time and will return.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I were at the Galleria last weekend so we thought we'd check out the place. The menu looked promising and had a lot of items that really sounded good. After looking at the menu, we decided to try it.

The food was adequate, definitely not gourmet but tasty enough. It was nice to have a lot of TVs around with a lot of different sporting events. Food prices were fairly reasonable, about on par with a F*riday's/B*ennigans/A*pplebee's kind of place; maybe slightly higher than that but not much.

Drink prices are another story. They are simply outrageous.

My wife's glass of wine was an almost reasonable $6.00. That was just about the cheapest wine on the menu, by the way.

I ordered a 20 ounce glass of Sierra Nevada on tap. Little did I know that this one draft beer going to cost $8.75. Almost NINE BUCKS for a beer! If the idea behind this place is to make you feel like you're "at the game," the beer prices certainly do that. I never thought I'd find a place that made ballpark beer seem like a bargain!

So if part of your desire to go to a sports bar is to hang out and pound a few brews, you'll either need to sell your car or take a pass. I'd come back to eat, but I wouldn't be drinking anything but water.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I went to watch the Pats play yesterday. We were in town from Boston and wanted to get out of the hotel. It was great. It was definitely crowded and the guests were exactly "upscale," but the service made up for all of that. We sat at the bar from 1p.m. until after the Pats won. We made lifelong friends with this really nice bartender, Davita. Had a great time!

MY REVIEW: Sunday eve, arrived for the NE/Pitts game & it was packed. Crowd seemed to be enjoying themselves, including our group that had arrived around 1:00 that day for the earlier game. Drinks were outrageously expensive, passed on the "food", but mostly the host staff minding the door were rude and reminiscent of bouncers who were trying to keep under aged patrons from coming in and out - only there is no entrance fee & our group members are well respected members of the Houston community and deserved better treatment. Too bad for Houston - as the Fox Sports Grill in Scotsdale, AZ is a VERY different picture. Needless to say - we were MORE than disappointed & won't return!!!!! We'd rather view from our own big screen.

MY REVIEW: The plasma tvs were extremely nice and the environment was pretty but the food was Horrible! Even the coke came out flat (no bubbles at all), and it tasted weird. I went with one other person and we ordered pasta. Mine was so bland that I had to add more salt in, and the other person's pasta was so salty we had to drink the weird coke after every bite. Basically the only thing that came out right was the plasma tvs. Pretty sad.

MY REVIEW: In comparison with typical sweaty jock sports bars where low price, plentiful supply of wings and buckets of Bud' are more important than quality this place is refreshing. They have a kitchen that produces real food, the salads are huge, the steak dishes can be a little small though, friendly servers, a pretty good sound system and all the sports you could ever want on walls lined with plasma's - including premiership soccer as noted by another reviewer (althouh they need to publish sports timetables on the web so people know what's on & when).

Of course it is slightly more expensive than the typical wood cabin on a side street showing ESPN, but then the quality and comfort levels are top notch, I guess you get what you pay for.

In addition to the "sports bar" area there's also restaurant and "outside" seating area (well, as "outside" as anything in the Galleria can ever be!).

Overall, not your typical Sports Bar...... much better than that! ("Upscale Sports Bar" maybe?)

MY REVIEW: Stopped in to have a drink and a nibble. As an English girl visiting her parents who live in Houston, me and my byfriend were very happy to have 'The Premiership' on T.V as we ate some lovely food. The staff were friendly and helpful and even brought us over some extra dips they thought we might like. The nachos were simple but the buffalo wings were gorgeous!! Give this place a go.

MY REVIEW: Food was average at best and the portions were very small given the price. Bar staff was friendly and attentive but I can't say the same about the waitstaff. The restaurant was virtually empty the night I went. I was seated in the no smoking section with several friends and the hostess sat a large party at the table next to us. This in and of itself was annoying since there were plenty of tables available. What made it worse was the manager came over to our table and asked if we minded if the people sitting at the table next to us smoked. Very annoying and unprofessional. I doubt I'll go back as there's nothing there that warrants a return trip.
