Flaming Wok

MY REVIEW: Some of the best Chinese food in Pasadena. Located in a strip mall. The inside has always been clean but very plain. They have a lunch special that includes soup. The food is always hot and fresh. Average prices. I would recommend ordering the Mongolian Beef (extra spicy) with the wonton soup. I have found if you dine in you will get a large portion. Takeout seams to be considerably smaller.

MY REVIEW: Best Chinese food ever! I always order the Pepper Steak (extra spicy) with steamed rice and hot & sour soup. If you're coming down with a sore throat have their hot & sour soup- it'll fix you up in a jiffy! Staff is always polite and attentive, yes they're young but also great!
This is the only Chinese restaurant I frequent. Their delivery sometimes takes awhile, but I just order extra early. Just more proof that they're busy!

MY REVIEW: The customer service STINKS! I live in deerpark and order from them all the time and about 97% of the time they get my order wrong and yet I STILL order from them. Today I placed an order for pick up and my order came up to 11.75 and they refused to deliver it because the minimum order for deliver was $12.00. I was ONE quarter off! I talked to a guy who said he was 'sorta' the manager and he really did not seem to care one bit. I will NEVER eat from there again. If you like depending on a bunch of 15 year old boys to know what they are doing well then more power to you.

MY REVIEW: Everything we tried was great, the best of the lot was the beef lo mein, the chicken and vegetables and hot noodle soup entree were also good. The fried dumplings, crab puffs and wonton soup were pretty good too. Reminds me of a P*ei Wei with a better selection of soup, you can't get wonton soup there.

MY REVIEW: It appears I'm swimming upstream on these reviews!
On my recent visit, the cashier reluctantly got up from watching TV with his buddies to take my order (Duuuude!). He had never heard of (or served) the Thai flat noodles (I should have started running then!). He brought them out, and sheepishly told me that he had checked the "super hot" box. Thankfully, they weren't...but they WERE awful! Soggy egg roll, dripping grease...lukewarm\cold hot and sour soup. This will be a relief to the other reviewers, because without my business, there will be more left for them! Whoof, what a stinker!

MY REVIEW: This restaurant is always clean, friendly, and fast. I love that they deliver too. I have been getting food delivered from them for years, from La Porte, to Deer Park! They always hire very respectful young adults to deliver and work the shop, and it is evident that there is an expectation of what service is supposed to look like. On one occasion I had been very ill at work with a sinus infection, and knew that their hot and sour soup would help me breathe. I call them 10 minutes before close and explained my situation and asked if there was anyway they might be able to get me a to go order ready, and maybe keep the door open just 5 extra minutes before I arrived. They did, and it did it with a smile. This is the ONLY chinese restaurant I have given my business to in the last 3 years.

MY REVIEW: I started going to this resteraunt at thier other sit-down restauraunt as well. My family is well-known around the place and we can't imagine better chinese food. We love the Pe-king shrimp and MuShu pork. We visit with grandparents, parents, kids, and even great grand kids. All are sure to find a dish they love!

MY REVIEW: I love this place!! The lunch special is so cheap and good. offered 7 days a week, 11-4 and they give you so much food. The people there are gerat and I love the way they keep the fortune cookies by the soda fountain. I enjoy the general chicken and my sister likes the sesame chicken. If you get the special you can choose from fried or non-fried rice and it comes with a spring roll and soup. won-tong soup is so good, I had never had it before, but now I am a fan =)

MY REVIEW: The best chinese food I have ever had! The service is also wonderful! Every morning and day and night the tables and benches and floors are swept and cleaned. The owners (Terry and Helen) were very nice and always make sure everything was kept in order. The wait for food is usually 3-5 minutes at max. Plus the dishes are very affordable. If you get a rice bowl, which could challenge the appitite of a Pro NFL player are very inexspensive. You will not be dissapointed! Thank you guys for all the years of curing my chinese craving.

MY REVIEW: Someone from the office ordered food for lunch and it look great, so I decided to pay a visit later that evening. I enjoy eating tofu and place my order along with a side of fried rice. I asked for "no egg" on my fried rice. The cashier said he'd have to charge me a $1.00+ to remove the egg. I asked for white rice instead. The tofu turned out to be spongy and tough, apparently the cooks don't use the firm tofu generally used in stir fry. My husband ordered a Sweet and Sour type dish with beef. The sauce was a syrup, sugar consistency. Needless to say, we won't be going back. This was one of the worst Chinese meal I've ever eatem

MY REVIEW: Hubby and I have been eating this family's food for 20 years, starting at another location and name. Cannot beat the Hot & Sour Soup. Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Chicken are absolutley the best around. Keep up the good work, Terry.

MY REVIEW: Great food! I also like the No MSG menu items and simply the easy way the menu is put together. The people are very friendly and they were even open the day of Hurricane Rita! I was very impressed by that.

MY REVIEW: Great vegetarian options. You can have any dish on the menu with either tofu, pork or chicken. That's definitely a plus since most restaurants only offer 1 vegetarian friendly dish, and that's if you're lucky. The first three times I went the food and service was great. The environment is also very peaceful and clean.
However, the fourth visit didn't go as well. I went with my boyfriend and mother, we all ordered 3 meals at the same time. They brought two out a few minutes later and told my mother that hers was on the way. After we saw people leave with take out orders and people behind us get their food, my mother finally went up there and they said "Oh. He's not even making it yet." The part that bothered me the most is that the guys working there knew she didn't have her food, and obviously knew that they hadn't taken her food to her yet, so why didn't they address it before we had to ask? I know they noticed because they kept looking at us and it's a very small, open restaurant. By the time she got her food, my boyfriend and I were both finished. On the positive side, the restaurant owner (I assume) did make it right by giving her a punch card for a free meal on her next visit.
So, if you're waiting more than 3-5 minutes for your food - they probably forgot about you.

MY REVIEW: Since my husband and I are vegan and live in this part of town, we were excited that they had tofu dishes! The taste of all of the dishes that we have ever order was great and the staff is incredible. It is definitely up there with P*ei Wei, only in small town Pasadena.
Vegans and vegetarians, this is a great place for you!
