MY REVIEW: We LOVE Capulco's. The owner, Chris, will go above and beyond to serve you. Ask for him if there is any problem or concern. The fajitas are great, and on Monday night you can get combo fajitas for two for $13.95. AWESOME. Also, get on their e-mail list and get coupons for $10 or $12 off an entree when you purchase two entrees. Happy hour has been extended til 7:00 ($2 margaritas which are excellent). Chris is extremely friendly and recognizes my husband and I every time we go in and comes over to inquire about our meal, etc.
GIVE IT A TRY.

MY REVIEW: Prices went WAY up! We were served burned Fajitas with cold tortillas. Service was fair except for one waitress who had to touch our baby's head and face every time she walked by. (5 times) Lots of noise from the kitchen including yelling and a drum solo on the work table. They have a huge tv, but most of the dining room can't see it for the beer sign hanging in front of it. Our bill came to $63.00 for two adults and a one year old not including tip! We won't be back.

MY REVIEW: This was our first visit and we were impressed. The chips and salsa were absolutely first-rate, and we had no complaints with the service. I believe the place is now under new management. I had the chicken avocado salad, and the chicken was delicious, very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The only mild complaint would be that my husband's plate looked a little "sparse"- expecting the usual loaded Mexican plate and this was NOT that. The fried avocado was tiny, although my husband had to admit that he was full after he finished the meal. Queso was rich and very smooth- and the rice was also very good.

MY REVIEW: My family and I have eaten at Capulcos twice. The food on the first visit was okay and the service was good. I like the idea that they have pizza on the kids menu. On the second visit, our waiter, who spoke broken English, took our tables order (seven people) and did not write it down. Once our food arrived, of course it was wrong. I wish waiters would just write orders not try to impress people by trying to remember. We had no problems getting our order corrected other than a language barrier. I had ordered soft chicken tacos and they still had bones in them. I picked around the bones but pointed it out to the manager. I just wanted the resturant to be aware so a child would not choke.
I have told my husband, I won't be back. The second visit was it.

MY REVIEW: For the longest time I wasn't even aware of Capulcos Mexican Cafe, although I passed by the area numerous times taking my daughter up to her mother's in Austin. As luck would have it, I was running low on gas and pulled off, deciding to grab some lunch before heading on my way.
The interior is was a little bit dimly lit and it felt as though the AC was not working properly, but it was amazingly clean. The server, Brad, was incredibly attentive, never letting my glass get under half full. The food was equally amazing, although the Pollo Veracruz was a little heavy on the onions
I plan to go back one Saturday for their margarita special and to try their Snapper Del Mar which the server raved about. I would definitely suggest checking out this rare gem if you're in the area. Easily worth the drive from the loop.

MY REVIEW: I just finished a wonderful meal of Mexican Shrimp Cocktail and a Taco Al Carbon. It was a to go order, so I didn't know what to expect as it was my first visit to this restaurant. I am VERY impressed with the quality and quantity! I can't wait to go back! John (the bartender who took my order) was really attentive and friendly. If you're going to dine in the restaurant, I recommend asking for Beverly. She is new to Houston and new to the job, but she sure knows what to order! She was right on about the chips and salsa, the Shrimp Cocktail and the Taco Al Carbon! Everything was top notch!

MY REVIEW: Love the $2 Margarita Happy Hour on Mon-Fri and the $2.50 Ritas on Saturday. This is our favorite Restaurant in Cypress. They have the best fajitas in Houston. Service has alway been great. The manager came by and checked on our table. Very friendly and helpful staff. Everyone seemed to be having a great time when we were there last time. If you get nothing else...get the Queso Capulcos!! This is their signature queso with shrimp, Pico De Gallo, Mushrooms, etc. Just awesome!! Highly Recommended.

MY REVIEW: Ate there yesterday for the first time. With the exception of the refried beans was great. The beans had no flavor and when the waitperson was asked, he responded with: Do you wish some more? Asked for some corn tortillas and was brought flour. Cost for three (there was two of us dining) was sixty-five cents.
Will go back, but will have to ask what can I have instead of the beans.

MY REVIEW: We live approximately 10 minutes from this restaurant and only go there about once a year. The reason? We keep thinking it might get better - but it doesn't. The food is not an issue, but the service is ALWAYS terrible. This morning we decided to try their breakfast for the first time since there are not many local restaurants that serve breakfast. Showed up at 9a. There were two tables filled and both were already eating. Waited over 5 minutes for our drinks. Took forever to get our food and when we asked for salsa to put on our tacos, you would have thought we asked for steak sauce or something. Waited ten minutes for additional tortillas and then it took way too long to get our change so we could leave. After we arrived 3 additional tables came in. Our waiter was serving all of them and I don't solely blame the bad service entirely on him. The entire time we were there, one woman kept walking around doing absolutely nothing. Other than taking a "to go order" she didn't fill a glass, clean a table, nothing. In the meantime, what I assume was the manager, wandered around with his clip board and looked like he was micro managing the staff. There are too many good mexican restaurants in the area to put up with lousy service and I'm amazed this restaurant has managed to stay open as I've never seen it even half full with the exception of the bar area.

MY REVIEW: I Love this place. They simply have some of the best mexican food in Houston. Service has always been great when I have been there. We are always greeted and served promptly. The food just keeps getting better and better. I love their salsas... they serve two... a green salsa and a red roasted tomato salsa. They have some fresh fish dishes that are not on the menu but are some of the best I have ever had. The fajitas are always tender and very flaverful. Here again they just stand out as being some of the best. The tortillas are fresh and home made.
The ambiance is great... I like occasionally watching sporting events in the bar on the plasma TVs. The music is not that heavy mexican music but more contempory latin. They have great margaritas speaking of which...
They have $2.00 margaritas on Saturdays (and there not those little glasses some places use to sell cheap margaritas). Also they have $2.00 Margaritas Monday to Friday until 6:00pm
They have a kids playroom that can get a little noisy on the weekends so unless you have kids just stay clear of the area.
We have been going to Capulcos for quite a while and have loved seeing this restaurant evolve into one of the best mexican restaurants in Houston. We use to go to some other mexican restaurants but we keep going back to Capulcos and skipping the others.

MY REVIEW: Margaritas are not on the happy hour!!!! What kind of Mexican Restaurant only has beers on their happy hour? We were soooo dissapointed. The food is good but the service was horrible. Too bad we haven't wanted to come back because we use to go AT LEAST once a week.

MY REVIEW: There are no strong points @ this restaurants. NO SERVICES at all. Being a person that was there all the time. They don't really care if you were there 5 mins. or 30 mins. they won't even acknowledge your presence. If you want to work there I recommened that you won't, no money.I will never go back there again.

MY REVIEW: HORRIBLE service!!!The only reason my family went back was to see if maybe the service would improve for the New Year. I was wrong, the service there is the worst I've ever seen, and I have worked in the restaurant business for years in the past. They are disorganized and cannot handel a busy shift. For example on our 2nd or 3rd visit which was a 6:30pm Friday night, the hostess actually told us they were NO LONGER SEATING until the kitchen clamed down! The kitchen was so backed up with the 15 tables they were serving (I'm not exaggerating)the kitchen was turning away customers on a prime dinner time on Friday. We left with two hungry children. The food is still good and it really is the closest Mexican food place around so we tried it again in the middle of the week during lunch. The waiter approached us in tears saying she was so stressed they had her waiting tables and doing togo at the same time. Not to be insesitive, but we didn't want to hear the teary problems of the waiter as soon as I sat down. We asked to speak to the manager and she said he was waiting tables too! We had to send our food back twice and vowed we would never go back.

MY REVIEW: If you are looking for atmosphere this place has it, but that is about all the good I can say about Capulcos. We went there for lunch today, the place was fairly empty and now I understand why. Our waiter was anything but attentive. I ended up sending my order back when it finally arrived (waiter didn't turn in my ticket and had to ask what I ordered) as my friends were finished eating. As we were getting up from the table another waiter offered to fill our water glasses. This was my second and last visit to this restaurant.

MY REVIEW: We live 40 min. one-way and will travel the distance for the food alone; the margaritas are icing on the cake! We treated my best friend for her birthday. Prior to leaving home I printed the reviews so I could respond to all the complaints. I guess ‘reviews’ work because the hostess was wonderful, the waiters were timely, the food was better than I remembered and the new kids area and tv at the bar an added plus. If I have anything neutral to say it would be that the waiters (plural) were a bit over conscious. Either our waiter or any waiter walking by would ask us if we needing anything or if everything was ok. Keep up the good work! The Chicken de Pollo is amazing!!!

MY REVIEW: The food was great, but the service was awful. We sat there about 5 minutes when I asked if someone could come take our order. Someone came, but then it was another 10 minutes or so until we got anything and it was a different waiter. The margaritas are wonderful so I thought it's probably worth the hassle. The food was also really good, EXCEPT they got my order wrong! I complained and so they brought out the rest of it done correctly and I just got it to go. The manager was a total wimp! But they did end up taking off the entire cost of my entree. We will probably try them again. The waitress we finally got was very sweet. We'll see...

MY REVIEW: We have been loyal Capulcos diners since the day it opened. Just like every other restaurant, we have had times where the service has been better than others, but all in all, we have been very happy with our experiences. The food is excellent, and has been every time we have visited Capulcos. The kids love the play area tucked in the back of the restaurant, and we have peace of mind knowing that they will stay in there and not wander out the front door. We will definitely continue to dine at Capulcos!!

MY REVIEW: Have eaten here many times over that last two years and have seen it evolve into a great family neighborhood restaurant. The recently added kids area is tucked in the corner out of the way but still visible from most tables providing peace of mind while we sip on killer margaritas. The food quality has steadily improved over time and the menu has expanded to include just about everything Mexican with the addition of several unique seafood dishes. The bar area is great with large TV's and good seating without being obnoxious to the rest of the restaurant. I see alot of complaints about coupons. If your goal is to see how much $$ you can get off your meal, go to Casa O*le, you'll have a more satisfying experience. If you want great food at reasonable prices, give Capulcos a try.

MY REVIEW: Its a shame that the food and service is awful. Every few months or so I would try Capulcos again and give them another shot at it, but after this meal I will never return to this crappy place.

MY REVIEW: I have been frequenting this restaurant since it opened. The quality of the service has continued to decline as the prices have continued to rise. They don't honor their OWN coupons at face value. The only redeeming qualities is that the food comes out in record time, ONCE you can get someone to wait on you. Consistent above-average quality food. Cooks are doing a great job, the management and hostesses need a refresher in customer service!!!

MY REVIEW: Well, how times have changed. I remember when I walked into this place about 2 years ago when they opened, and I also remember not wanting to comeback after a few visits. The place has evolved into a great place to eat and hang out. They have since built in a playroom for the children which is a huge plus, not to mention their 40+ inch plasma TV's at the bar. The service has improved somewhat, although I continually notice a change in staff at this place. If you need to be taken care of, than Ed the bartender is your man because he's one of the only constant faces there. The food has also vastly improved (the fajitas are delicious). Overall, the restaurant is a pleasure to have in our neighborhood.

MY REVIEW: This, being one of the few Restaurants even available in our growing area, has continued to slip. I've been going to it since it's opened and service has always been "inexperienced". Their timing in the kitchen is awful. Do NOT order an appetizer and Entre, you will get them at the SAME TIME. Food quality? OK, but not very Mexican.
We've stopped going to them, especially when we can now go to 1960, where there are 2 EXCELLENT options, where the owner's are actually Mexican. More authentic and WAY better service.
Too Bad. It was the closest thing to us.

MY REVIEW: Food was not very good and service was weak. Decor is nice but that's about it. Sad because there aren't many restaurants in this fast growing area of metropolitan Houston.

MY REVIEW: I have been here numerous times with mixed results. Tonight was my LAST visit. Prices have continued to rise as service has continued to decline. On my last visit, they did not have enough menus to let us see one (they weren't THAT busy!). Tonight, they had menus, but my dinner partner had a different one than I did! (I was trying to make a recommendation and they are like "where is that on the menu?" , it wasnt' on there menu). We had a coupon for $7.00 off maximum. (Buy one/get one "free"). When we gave the coupon to the waiter, my bill only went from $25.43 to $22.40. They didn't even honor their OWN coupon!!! I am all for teens/young adults having jobs, but I have not seen any "adult" supervision in this restaurant in months. We had to ask for chips (normally served free prior to meal) and we had to ask for drink refills. The only redeeming quality left is that the food comes out quickly.....once you get waited on! The food is good, but not a good value for the ever-increasing prices.
