Olympia Grill

MY REVIEW: I went twice over the holidays. The decor and service was very basic. The food, however, was excellent. On my first visit I had a lunch special with baked fish, and it was perfectly made and tasty. I had a greek salad and calamari on my second visit and these items were perfect too. Seriously, these guys are for real.

MY REVIEW: Love the food. Didn't have Greek food this time but we had the flounder and grouper special. Cooked perfectly and totally delicious. We are never disappointed in the food. We much prefer this location to the Pier 21 location.

MY REVIEW: BEST GREEK FOOD EVER!!!!!!!!! I love this place. It's home. My hubby and I went to the new Olympia at Pier 21 and we were disappointed because they didn't leave the greek dressing at our table and they didn't have my favourite dessert: Galakabureko (Sorry if I totally slaughtered that). We were disappointed after eating there because it didn't have the ambiance or meet our expectations. So, we decided to drive by and see if the original was still open! THANK GOD IT WAS! We walked in and it was like a breath of fresh air. They had my favourite dessert and we ordered it to go. I don't think my husband and I are going to go back to the Pier 21 location ever again because there's no place like home. Olympia Grill is our favourite restaurant, our place. If I had to choose a last meal, it would be a gigantic greek salad from Olympia Grill! *mouth watering*

MY REVIEW: Went down to Galveston on 4/2/09 for a concert at the 1894 Grand. Found this on on B4-u-eat. I'm a Greek and seafod loving Italian. Bingo!
Great food, Good service. Big portions. We will probably share next time. Definitely will return. I had the grilled Bossa which was new to me but excellent. My wife had the grilled salmon, also excellent. Great selection of sides and killer desserts. We had the Never on Sunday, which had more Weight watcher points than the whole main dish.
Dressings tend to be heavy on the oil so get them on the side.
This is a great place.

MY REVIEW: We drove to Galveston last Sunday to eat at the Olympia Grill. Our experience is that the food is always excellent. Flounder is a favored fish for me and they did it just right. It was baked and came with an olive oil base sauce to pour over it. My wife very much enjoyed the gyro platter. The Greek custard was the best I have eaten.

MY REVIEW: You seriously can not find a better Greek restaurant outside of Houston. The food is excellent. Service is outstanding and the owner is friendly. I had the chicken gyro and it was cooked to perfection. The hummus is the best around and prices are reasonable especially for the amount of food you get. My friends and I had our Christmas party here. They let us stay far after we finished our food and we never felt rushed. I am certain that anything you get here will be excellent.

MY REVIEW: WOW...best in the area by far. I had the dolmas (which were fantastic) with a perfect Greek Salad followed with pastitsio. My wife had the skewered port tenderloin with pita bread which she said was also the best. Will be back many more times and can't wait until the new restaurant opens. Opa..........

MY REVIEW: Larry and Tiki have the best Greek restaurant in the Galveston, Houston area. You can't miss with any of the various items on the menu whether they are appetizers or entrees. Their lamb and fresh fish are fabulous. If it is not on the menu, they will accomodate you if they have the ingredients or go get them. We all look forward to the opening of their new restaurant at Harbor House. It will be a fantastic place to visit.

MY REVIEW: True Greek family Hospitality; and the atmosphere and greek food is excellent. The lamb shank is truly the the best in the house. If you want excellent Greek food, the Olympia Grill is the place to go. From the appetizer, saganiki, any Greek food or platter, to the dessert, baklava with walnuts, the Kriticos family has it. The selection of Greek wines from the different regions and islands of Greece is outstanding. They even have Marathon Beer. It's just like being in Greece.

MY REVIEW: I generally get my food to go, but the atmosphere is very homey. It has good service and great food. I recomend the Lamb shanks while my wife recomends the Gyro' platter. It is a family owned business who take the time to talk to you and make sure everything is perfect for your dining experience. If you enjoy Greek food than Olympia Grill is a must.

MY REVIEW: Good, fresh, quality food served in a relaxing atmosphere by a friendly waitstaff. I like the Gyro's while my wife prefers the Mousaka though we both induldge in the specials sometimes too . When we have guests down to the island we take them to the Olympia Grill. Oh, did I mention a clean place with clean restrooms.

MY REVIEW: Get away from the "tourist trap" restaurants and enjoy a truly refreshing meal at Olympia. The seafood and Greek food have always been prepared to perfection, so I have never been disappointed in a meal. The menu has something for everyone ,from vegetarian and healthy eaters to those who just want to "pig out". The atmosphere is great with Greek TV, lots of family pictures plus a wonderful staff. If you like wine, you'll want to check out the wonderful variety on their wine list. They've got it all! A must stop if you're in Galveston and worth the drive from Houston if you're not.

MY REVIEW: Truly one of the best Greek restaraunts I've eaten at in a long time. And not only that: the service is exceptional and the decor is wonderfully unique. The food is outstanding - fresh seafood, hearty greek dishes like moussaka and their roasted lamb shank - and all of it prepared with the customer's health in mind! But no restaraunt is complete without desserts, so they provide some lovely, traditional greek pastries - along with a few non-Greek (but still delicious) desserts.
If you're looking for great service, great food, and owners who really care about your stay - then head over to the Olympia Grill!

MY REVIEW: Without a doubt the most unique dining experience available on the Gulf Coast. The fresh seafood is cooked to perfection and the generous portions leave you satisfied without the weight of more commercialized 'fried' seafood establishments. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the environment casual and the location very convenient for access to anywhere else on the island. Leave room for dessert...the greek pastries are authentic and exquisite. This is a destination for us anytime we're within 90 miles of Galveston.

MY REVIEW: The best Greek food in the greater Houston area. If you are day tripping from the mainland, the perfect place to stop for lunch. The service is great, one of the owners is ever present to make sure your meal met your expectations, and the atmosphere can't be beat. If you are looking for a night out, look out for their Greek nights, usually once a month during the off season. By reservation only, these events bring you into the Greek family for a party. Great food, great atmosphere, a Greek band and dancing--an event you don't want to miss if you like a good time. Highly recommended.
