MY REVIEW: Great place, delicious 'milanesa' sandwiches and tasteful pastries. I visit as many times as possible. Owner and staff very friendly, you have to try it.

MY REVIEW: One of the best little secrets in Houston, and certainly one of the very most "authentic" Argentine places here, or many cities in the US I've visited (NY, LA, Miami, etc) We try to come at least every other week (it's a bit out of the way) and buy enough empanadas to freeze for days afterwards! The pastry is authentic, the same one as used in Argentina, imported from Miami, both in the empanadas and in the "pascualina." If you ask her, she'll out less oil and spices in the filling (which she adds for "local" tastes) and if you ask will add raisins and/or olives, which is qhy they're made in Argentina. The empanadas aren't fried (fried empanadas, as at M*arini's, is an invention, NOT an Argentine thing!) and msot of the fillings are a small batch of the ones you'd find in Argentina. Most of the pastries are great, too--only difference with the "real" thing (i.e. in Argentina) is the size, which here is certainly "Texas Size"! In Argentina, a croissant is a third of the size. Same thing with the "migas"--which are delicious, if a tad dry at times. Her cakes are fantastic. She also often receives shipments from Miami directly from Argentina with mate, Alfajores, Argentine crackers, cheeses, etc. It's a small, clean, cozy, friendly, unpretensious place.

MY REVIEW: I ate there yesterday, thisn is a small cozy place, nice people and OK food. The pascualina was just OK, and the empanadas do not taste that good when warmed up in a microwave. The beef empanadas dripped a lot of grease that solidified on the plate, not appealing. I did not try the pastries which look very good. I do not think I will go back for empanadas.

MY REVIEW: Small but very clean cute restaurant, and the lady behind the counter, who I think is the owner, is very sweet. I have had the beef milenesa sandwich, very tasty and huge! The prices and the quality beat any other "regular" sandwich place.

MY REVIEW: I stopped in for a quick bite to eat and was so glad I did. I had a small chicken salad and a caramel croissant for under $4.00. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back to try one of their many delicious desserts that they have show-cased at the counter. This is a small, friendly, family run business and I would highly recommend trying this restaurant.

MY REVIEW: Great food!!! They also offer excellent cakes for all kinds of events (she learned to bake and decorate many years ago in Argentina and taught this art as well). The service is nice and helpfull, great location! Always go back!

MY REVIEW: Truly excellent empanadas, sandwiches de miga, matambre. As close to homemade as I've found in Houston. They also carry Alfajores Havanna (yum!) as well as some other imported items.

Not a great location. Far from freeway and takes awhile to get there. But I'm willing to travel out of my way.

Highly Recommend.

MY REVIEW: We're up in this area about once a month and like to try different places. After reading about Manena's in the Chronicle, we decided to give it a try. We really enjoyed the beef empanadas and an outstanding beef sandwich that I believe was called a Milanese. The staff were very helpful to us, since it was our first visit, and even gave us two samples to take with us when we bought additional empanadas to go. On top of all this it's very reasonably priced. We'll be going back.
