Lucky Burger
1601 Richmond Ave, Houston, Texas 77006
MY REVIEW: Finally I've tried out Lucky Burger after decades in Houston, and I wasn't disappointed. A guilty pleasure for sure, and I'll be the first to point out that the bacon cheesebuger I enjoyed today was basic, no frills, probably a frozen pattie, iceburg lettuce. No problem, it tasted just like burgers from my long-ago childhood and that's all I wanted. Only weak point imho is the flimsy napkins.

MY REVIEW: Have driven by this place a few times, finally stop. Hate I did. Had a burger, it was not good at all. The meat was very bland. Soda's were flat. The A/C was out so it was very warm.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I finally visited this Houston institution after having driven by it a million times. The reviews were good and we like to try new things. My husband ordered a cheeseburger with fries and I had the fish burger with an egg roll. The food was okay, but pretty heavy. The restaurant was also very warm, which was a little uncomfortable. I'm glad to say we've been there, but we probably won't rush back.

MY REVIEW: They have a veggie burger that's like no other. Instead of a veggie patty, they grill vegetables in an asian teriyaki sauce. It's good!!

MY REVIEW: I have been eating at Lucky Burger for over 10 years. Love the burgers. The meat itself is nothing special, but the buns and fixins make it special. The fried rice, fried shrimp, and fried fish are also worth trying. Don't let the exterior fool you, this is a classic dive in a good sense. Very good food at a reasonable price. John, the owner, is very cordial and it is a kid friendly place.

MY REVIEW: I've been driving by this place for more than 20 years, always too afraid to actually go in and try it. My mistake. Very passable burgers and a really decent, fresh grilled chicken salad. Passably clean inside as well.

MY REVIEW: Lucky Burger does not look much from the outside but the food is great and the place is clean. The burgers are delicious and their fries are big like mom's use to make. They have huge fried shrimp that are delicious and their tartar sauce is real tasty as well. The fish is okay but be prepared to eat a lot the serving is pretty big.

MY REVIEW: This used to be a great place to eat, but I think it has changed ownership. The french fries used to be wonderful, but the last five times I have ordered from there, the fries were almost burned. Positive things are that the place is as clean as a whistle, and they now deliver. That delivery is a life saver when I am too tired to cook. It is amusing to dine in and listen to the staff yell at each other and argue in Chineese. I still like Lucky Burger, and will continue ordering from them. They are very friendly. Just make sure you ask for your fries to be light instead of burned.

MY REVIEW: I was visiting a friend who lived in this area, and we went out for dinner at Lucky Burger. At first, I didn't know what to think. Her mom had been a university student and ate here a lot. She said it was a chinese burger, so I was hesitant as we walked in. Soon I found out though that this place was great! Not only did they serve burgers, but they served fried rice! It's a combination between chinese and american. They should advertise more. This restaurant must be very old- ever since the 1970's, I think. I will be visiting again! Very good food!!

MY REVIEW: Please check out LUCKY BURGER on the corner of Richmond Avenue and Mandell treets. It has been in existence since the 1980s (if not before). They serve hamburgers and cheeseburgers (the usual combinations of meat and cheese), fried shrimp, fried rice...and all kinds of things.
The best part of the hamburgers is that the buns are toasted on the grill and have a wonderful flavor. The fries are the usual freezer to hot grease fries...but I've never had a burned one, nor have I ever had a "raw" one. The tomatoes are real slices and the lettuce is green and never a white-leaf leftover.
The service is friendly and they deliver to your table or up to 5 miles from their location.
